Top 10 Best Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Weapon Types
Here is a list of the best weapon types in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. The rankings can vary depending on personal preference, so it will be interesting to see which weapon types make it to the top spot and which end up in last place.
-
Long Sword
Fast and light like the Dual Swords, but with more reach. Instead of going into frenzy mode and sacrificing stamina, you get an attack boost after dealing enough damage.
-
Dual Blades
Speedy attack damage, devastating and satisfying demon mode, and their small weight make you really fast, which makes it much easier to dodge enemy attacks. Very easy to use as well.
-
Bow
Bows offer great range for players who like to stay as far as possible from monsters. They are even better in multiplayer. I find them easy to use because, unlike Bowguns, they use coatings instead of much more complicated ammo.
-
Bowgun
Another great ranged weapon. However, unlike the Bow, it is less versatile, uses complicated ammo, and is harder to aim with.
-
Hunting Horn
Although more useful in multiplayer, I find Hunting Horns to be great in single-player too. They are not easy to learn, but the buffs and high damage are very good. I also find they have the best designs, from bongo drums to a literal Basarios Rock Guitar.
-
Hammer
The Hammer seems to me like a slightly more powerful Hunting Horn, but without the buff songs. However, its raw power and charging ability can be devastating.
The Hammer has high DPS, breaks faces in no time, and there is no better feeling than scoring a K.O. and continuing to pound the head.
-
Great Sword
The Great Swords require patience, but they are far from being slow. The only attacks you'll ever need are the Draw Attack and the Draw Charge Attack, so all you do is wait for the right opportunity and strike. Don't forget to roll immediately afterward to cancel the ending lag and sheathe. The Draw and Charge Attack also have natural armor, so they will ignore trips and continue charging (but won't ignore damage, so be careful).
Easy to charge.
-
Gunlance
Similar to the Lance, except it has a cool explosive gun at the end.
-
Lance
-
Sword and Shield
The standard choice for any new player. Having both options of either blocking or dodging, along with having a good combo for offense and even support choices with paralysis or poison, makes it a solid and safe pick for any quest.
Fast and similar to the Dual Swords. However, I rarely find myself blocking and often dodge-roll instead, which is why I prefer Dual Swords.
