Top 10 Worst Video Game Developers

The Top Ten
Electronic Arts Electronic Arts, Inc., also known as EA Games, is an American developer, marketer, publisher and distributor of video games headquartered in Redwood City, California.

Anyone remember NFL Blitz on the n64? THAT, was a good sports game. Now, all you get are games from people like EA and 2K that give you nothing but slightly better graphics with an updated roster. And that crap is $60! Also, hello?...Mass Effect 3 ending, anyone? And don't even get me started on how EA rushes their employees to develop a game every year before the holiday deadline. Now, even if the graphics are better and the rosters are updated, almost nothing changes each year. And I know I'm giving a lot of crap to sports games, but seriously, what kind of gamer wants to throw a ball?! EA sports: It's in the game my a**. The only things in the game I see are glitchy gameplay, and $60 of my life wasted. Also, SO MUCH forced DLC! I mean seriously, EA gives you more DLC than The Last of Us. But that game was good, because Naughty Dog knows that it takes time to make a great game. Also, since EA has been making countless dollars off of stupid consumers, they have gone to buying out video game companies, so gamers beware! You may find your favorite franchise(s) ruined! How EA is only #2 on this list instead of #1, I will never know.

Stellar Stone Stellar Stone, LLC was a video game developer founded in 2000 and based in Santa Monica, California. The company developed games offshore in Russia and Ukraine, with a small staff and low budget.

Ugh don't get me started Big Rigs or that taxi game terrible.

Makers of Big Rigs over the road racing, says everything.

They made big rigs over the road racing!

Zynga Zynga is an American provider of social video game services founded in July 2007 and headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States.

Seriously, are they even a gaming company? They steal games from other people, specially indie devs! Ugh, they are literally leaking with money, yet they need ideas from other people. Most of the time their games are usually littered with micro-transactions the literal bane of gaming. literally EA's little brother.

Worst ever gaming developer! They were the ones who introduced time-sync in their games and introduced trade between real cash and in-game currency as a way to earn money because they made their games slow as Hell.

Konami Konami Holdings Corporation is a Japanese entertainment company that formed in 1969. Konami does a high amount of distributing products such as slot machines and arcade games, anime, video games, and trading / game cards. Konami also

I used to love this company, until there is nothing else to love about it. They don't have the slightest respect for their developers. Once they outlive their usefulness they get reassigned to be a part of security guards, cleanup crew, factory workers. Lately, they realized that gamers care about the people who create their favorite games. So, they decided not to give people credit when it's earned. They want to keep the gifted ones at Kojima's level enslaved rather than watch them grow and gain fame. It's one thing to play with your fans emotions by turning their favorite games into an embarrassment like what happened with Castlevania which ended up being an erratic violence pachinko game. But to turn on the people who helped the company succeed and make their lives a living hell is just plain evil.

Digital Homicide Digital Homicide Studios L.L.C. was an American video game developer based in Yuma, Arizona. It was founded on June 11, 2014 by brothers James and Robert Romine. The company has used multiple pseudonyms on their releases, including Imminent Uprising and ECC Games.

How is this not number 1? EA had at least good games like the good old NFS Most Wanted, LJN published a good spiderman game on snes, Activision published good games too, zynga sucks hard, but they don't attack valve and ubisoft is still a good company

Suing other people for simply saying their games suck, attempting to bring down valve, having HORRIBLE games, suing people for a total of 18 MILLION DOLLARS... wow. EA is horrible, but Digital Homicide needs to be number 1. At least EA makes GOOD games every once in a while.

Tiger Electronics Tiger Electronics is an American toy manufacturer, best known for its handheld LCD games, the Furby, Giga Pets, and the 2-XL robot product, and audio games such as Brain Warp.

Tiger is smart when it comes to selling, but all they make is outdated games, hell the games are digital watch technology. I still don't understand how they got to be a huge hit back at the 80's and 90's though, they were even outdated THEN. Somebody please explain to me how they got to be a huge hit and I will give you a back-rub, I guess.

Remember the GameCom? A black and white portable video game system made by Tiger, it was its pathetic answer to Nintendos legendary game boy. And the R Zone? Red and Black games you play close to your eyes? Based off Nintendos Virtual Boy! Their wrist games made their other games look fun to play! Damn, I'm flabbergasted by how this Tiger isn't number one! Now the Tiger may be the largest feline, but Tiger Electronics certainly isn't the biggest video game company!

Titus Software Titus Interactive SA, previously Titus France SA, was a long-running French software publisher that produced and published video games for various formats over its lifetime.

The worst French company ever, made the most memorable bad game of all time superman64 and later did robocop which was also terrible.

Don't get me started on superman64.

That's the logo of how satanic is.

Phoenix

Wait; is this a game company? Kinda... They make "games" that actually are movies with game content. Not like Space Ace, Night Trap or Plumbers Don't Wear Ties. NO! It's worse. It's s***!

Just only unplayable games that are absolutely horrible, because they colaborated with Dingo Pictures, which is responsable for those abominations for plagiarism at animated developers such as Disney.

These people are probably the last people on earth that care about the gaming industry. People are just easily tricked into seeing otherwise.

King

How the heck is Sega...SEGA higher than this abomination of a company? This should be in the top ten! Their games are awful, they're pointless, and they're cash cows. They don't care about you, they care about money. Candy Crush has 12,000,000 different types of micro transactions and aggravating business practices. They also tried to trademark the words "Candy" and "Saga" instead of trademarking the combo "Candy Crush". Instead, they got AWAY with trademarking the word candy and every game on the App Store with that word got TAKEN DOWN.

Accolade Accolade, Inc. was an American video game developer and publisher of the 1980s and 1990s. Headquartered in San Jose, California, it was founded in 1984 by Alan Miller and Bob Whitehead after leaving another game developer and publisher they had founded, Activision.

Their terrible mascot was a cat and they even made a cartoon! But some games wich are not based on Bubsy for Example is Test Drive, wich was a great Racing game series.

This company sucks, they almost killed the Morta Kombat franchise, but it shall be number 1, even worse than LJN.

Mix sonic fanfics with EA bottle it and release it in one game in 1996
what could possibly go wrong (EA)?

The Newcomers

? miHoYo

Overrated gacha slot machines riddled with microtransactions and have basically nothing original. Not to mention how it also has an extremely toxic fanbase with average mental age no more than 12 who defend everything about it till the end.

? LJN LJN Toys, Limited was an American toy company and video game publisher in operation from 1970 to 1995. It manufactured toy lines and released battery operated water guns and video games based on licensed properties from movies, television shows, and celebrities.

Actually, they were a video game publisher, not a developer. Their games still suck though.

More like "Laughing Joking Numbnuts". Can anybody say "Rainbow of Doom"?

The Contenders
Capcom Capcom Co., Ltd., or Capcom, is a Japanese developer and publisher of video games, known for creating multi-million-selling franchises such as Mega Man, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Ace Attorney, and Monster Hunter, as well as highly successful games based on the Disney animated properties... read more

Many reasons. Here's what they've done to their series:
They abandoned Mega Man.
They've ruined the Resident Evil series. Heck, even the guy who was behind the development said that 6 sucked.
They have thrown away Castlevania.
They are ruining the Street Fighter games with V by not adding an Arcade mode and a Vs mode. It was designed for their online 'Capcom Cup'.
Lastly, they have trashed the Devil May Cry games with an uneccessary reboot, which sucked horribly.

They invented a new form of 'DLC', which actually stands for 'Disk Locked Content', meaning you had to pay for dlc items that were already in the game.

There's more reasons why, but I think that this should cover on why Capcom is really going downhill, and fast.

Ubisoft Ubisoft Entertainment SA is a French multinational video game developer and publisher, headquartered in Rennes, France.

Uses the same formula for nearly all of their games. Despite being a "triple A" developer, they consistently release buggy games and produce a surprising amount of shovelware. They would rather make unimaginative and repetitive yearly releases than spend more time to create innovative and well polished games. They overhype their games and fail to deliver on promises often leaving gamers disappointed. Every time I see the Ubisoft logo before a new game trailer, it automatically makes me skeptical and unlikely to be interested in the game.

Acclaim Entertainment Acclaim Entertainment was an American video game developer and publisher. It developed, published, marketed and distributed interactive entertainment software for a variety of hardware platforms, including Mega Drive/Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, and Game Gear, Nintendo Entertainment System, Super NES,... read more

Acclaim? Really? I didn't play much video games when I grew up, but when I did it was either Mortal Kombat or Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, EVERY TIME!
I must have played through Turok DH 15 times, and still enjoy it just as much.

Well, they did make Mortal Kombat and Burnout, but they also made some bad games too.

They created Bubsy! That's a good reason to hate this company. Thank god it's gone.

Color Dreams Color Dreams is an American company formerly known for developing and publishing unlicensed video games for the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System.

Then they changed to Wisdom Tree and made those terrible bible games that The Angry Video Game Nerd reviewed. Bible games are terrible and have no point.

EA, Ubisoft, THQ, Sega, and Activision are above this? What is wrong with people.

They're NES games were unlicensed and weird.

Spike Chunsoft

*cough* Dangan Ronpa *cough*
Where you can't save in the middle of class trials that are an hour long or even longer. Literally the worst saving mechanic ever in gaming history. Just watch the anime if you want to go through it. The anime is miles better than the games.

Only thing I care about is those mystery dungeon games, tfw when they have deeper plot than main pokemon games

THQ THQ Inc. was an American video game developer and publisher. Founded in 1989, the company developed products for home video game consoles and handhelds, personal computers and mobile devices. Its name derived from "Toy Headquarters" during its time as a toy manufacturer in the early 1990s. In 2012,... read more

This should be here...at all comparing this to Ljn, Microsoft studios, Activision, and literally every other company on this list...this company dominates in good content but for some reason doesn't make good money.

This needs to get off right now. They made the best SpongeBob game and one of my favorite games ever, SpongeBob battle for bikini bottom. Get it off right now.

They only were completely terrible during the NES era. Afterwards they became a mixed bag where they made some good games and some bad.

Atlus
Supercell Supercell is a mobile game development company founded in June 2010 in Helsinki, Finland. The company's debut game was Gunshine.net.

Lots of updates in Supercell's games have added many OVERPOWERED cards, for example in Clash Royale a few months ago they thought Ram Rider was not op... like what it's the most op card and everyone just pays for it then you lose because you're trying to F2P but keep versing P2W

They make worst pay-to-win games ever!
Clash Of Clans: Wait 2 years to upgrade tower OR you can pay to us!
Boom Beach: Nice rip-off of Battle Islands by 505 Games.
Hay Day: Again that stupid farmland game?
Clash Royale: Clickbait youtube videos and higher donation forcement, than COC.

Microsoft Studios Microsoft Studios is the video game production wing for Microsoft, responsible for the development and publishing of games for the Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Games for Windows, Steam, Windows Store, and Windows Phone platforms.

Most of Xbox exclusive characters aren't memorable other than Master Chief and Arbiter. I respected Rare during N64 generation until Microsoft bought it. There hasn't been any good games by Rare recently. Now they are slowly fading into obscurity. Fable series are mostly meh. I prefer Halo's original trilogy than recent installments. I decided not to buy future Xbox consoles since the defective hardware that caused red circle of death on many Xbox 360s. I predict Xbox One will lose its competition with PlayStation and Nintendo Switch a couple decades later.

Animation Magic Specializing in animated content, Animation Magic is a production company that focuses on creating animated series, films, and commercials. The company uses both traditional and digital animation techniques to bring stories to life.

HM... I wonder what's for dinner?
This company sucks because of those crappy Zelda games on the CD-I.

Well the games were good for YTP. But they're still terrible games. A disgrace to Zelda.

On the plus side, these guys provided excellent source material for YTPs.

Wisdom Tree Wisdom Tree is an American developer and publisher of Christian video games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, PC, Mac, and Sega Genesis, headquartered in Pima County, Tucson, Arizona, United States.

They are making fun of the bible and christian religion by creating weird games about the bible and make a lot of fusions of christian religion and video games. By doing that, they think they never get sued.

What did the world's best-selling copyrighted book of all time do to deserve the LJN treatment, anyway... no, What's on second!

Their games have bad graphics!

Fox Interactive

It's weird how I'm finding this company on the list; they published Croc.

Almost every simpsons games they made except for a few are bad.

Mindscape

Another mix bag they made some good some awful.

Blizzard Blizzard was founded under the name Silicon & Synapse on February 8, 1991 by Michael Morhaime, Frank Pearce, and Allen Adham. They primarily made ports of other games for other studios until 1993, when they made Rock N Roll Racing and The Lost Vikings . In 1994, They became Chaos Studios, Then Blizzard... read more

Doesn't care about its fans, its developers, or its content creators. I remember seeing Disguised Toast speaking about the blatant neglect towards him and other creators - they were asked to playtest something, and were expected to pay for their travel, pay for their hotel/housing during the event, pay for any transportation to/from the event, and expected to playtest with few breaks or anything. Overwatch is, at its base, a tf2 ripoff that is designed to bring in money.

Literally everything they work on gets expensive DLC somewhere along the line, and even their special anniversary or holiday events are just used as opportunities to sell even more needless items. I don't think I've ever known them to do a giveaway of free special event items - one of the few companies that's so greedy they wouldn't even consider it

Data Design Interactive Data Design Interactive Ltd is a British video game developer and publisher. The company was founded in 1983 as Data Design Systems in Halesowen, England, was acquired by Stewart Green's Green Solutions in May 1990, and incorporated as limited company on 2 August 1999. In August 2007, they acquired... read more

Just watch one video of Vinny's shovelware showcase and that will explain everything about this company.
Should be in the top 10 at least.

Most of the games they made on the Wii are piss poor they should be higher.

These guys didn't have one game that even came close to average score.
