Top 10 Lies Parents and Teachers Tell You
This is a HUGE lie that teachers only tell you because they have to. I mean they can't just be like, "Oh, you should just give up because you're never going to be anything". You do have the opportunity to be things though maybe not anything.
Unfortunately this is a big lie, not everyone can be the president, and not everyone can be a police officer. Some people are born smaller and will never be a basketball player no matter how good their 3 point shooting skill is.
I often try things like a million times and STILL fail miserably.
The most misleading phrase of our time.
Once again this is false, look at how many actors and actresses who can't even act but become rich and famous because of their "good looks." For example, Jessica Elba is considered to be good looking, but she cannot act her way out of a cardboard box. Even if you are not up to task, if you look the part you may get the supervisor or front desk job that you really want. The better looking you are in life, the easier things will be for you. The uglier you look, the harder you will have to work. Girls would prefer a handsome husband, and guys would prefer a beautiful wife.
So not true. I hate to say this, but a lot of people will act like a-holes to you purely based on superficial looks or the way you're dressed and deny you opportunities purely because of those factors. That's not the way it should be, but there are dicks like that.
Really?
My plans in life: Have a successful acting/singing career, marry a charming and kind gentleman, and have children, and go to stanford, harvard, or yale!
My teacher named Ms Marshall favoured another student over me because my skin colour was dark & NOT her skin was white!
You can say whatever you want to us. Why is it suddenly wrong when we do it to you?
Wrong, sometimes you should stand your ground for what you believe in.
But you talk back about kid...
Yes you should
It is true that school will give you the much needed education to survive in life, but you pretty much get all of that by high school. You don't need college to be successful, look at Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. College is good if you are going in specifically for medical or HR purposes, but degrees like philosophy and liberal arts are completely useless.
College can be good if you go for STEM. Stay away from most business degrees even those in accounting and finance and also the humanities. Make sure it is an observable field. However, in most cases your better off with only a high school diploma being a truck driver.
I want to either be a YouTuber, singer, musician, or actress. How will school help with any of that?
Well I wished I graduated in year 10 instead of year 12 (I'm in Australia by the way)!
For some people this may be true, but people who are once a bully, will always be a bully. Bullies isn't confined to a school area, there is a good chance someone who is a higher up at a workplace will try to bully people lower. Look at the government, so many of those people were bullies when they were growing up, yet they still ended up in a big paying job. I never had a bully, but for those who do, remember that sometimes they follow you throughout life.
Just because you were a bully as a kid doesn't mean you have no chance at a successful career, and ignoring them is not going to make them stop. You have to stand up to them.
Not exactly true. Some bullies actually do get good grades and are smarter than other bullies, even if they are a-holes. It's frustrating, but that is reality.
Oh, really? I know a bully who is famous and ended up with scores that are higher than everybody in the grade.
Some people are born better looking than others, while some will be naturally taller, and other will be born deaf or blind.
Everyone is created equal if you were born in the right religion and race for your specific country, and if your in a heavily religious area then if you were born a male, because religious people don't consider women human beings
I have proof my older sister and older brother have all good qualities I got all bad qualities my family mistreated me I seem to be bad at everything
This is an outright lie that the Christian Right tends to use to try to make laws banning violent video games. If anything, these games prevent more real-life violence because a lot of people play video games such as these to relieve stress or anger that's all pent up.
Again, teachers or parents will tell you this, until it gets in the way of personal views that they have that are clearly bigoted or ignorant and then they'll act like the lowest scum of society to these students.
Our English teacher favours girls over boys(he's male). The girls can literally TEASE him, yet when we boys say one word out of line, boom. GET OUT.
The old saying that if you don't eat your food a kid in Africa will starve, granted every country has children that are starving. Africa is not the only continent where they have starving population. Africa is not just desert and lions, Africa is a continent with cities as well. Not everybody is poor in Africa, just like not everybody is rich in North America.
Seriously, look at the homeless kids in the streets. ONLY African kids are starving?!
Also, Africa is not always the poor and less economical country. Think of Angola and Luanda! Very luxurious!
There are more poorer countries. Sure, Ethiopia is, but what about Laos, Timor Leste, Detroit and countries with wars?!
Not everywhere in Africa is poor and impoverished. If you go to Luanda, Angola, there are some rich people living a luxury life (which some can afford a 9 million dollar penthouse there) which means they can afford good meals. There are poor areas outside of Africa too, such as in Detroit, Haiti, Bolivia, etc.
Tell this to a kid in a food desert in a lower income neighborhood or a kid in a shack in the rural Appalachians in West Virginia.
As an adult you don't get judge based on how good you try something, but judges based on "if" you succeed or don't succeed. Teachers may give you partial credit for trying on a test, but in real life there is no try, only do. Don't matter how hard you tried to get your deadlines in to your boss, but in the end of the day if you didn't get it in, and that is what will matter.
So if I try my best and get 0% on every test it's good enough and everyone would want to hire me?
(My Asian mom)
Me: I got 89% on my math test!
Mom:That's a B+! Not good enough! You need to study more!
Unfortunately my teacher named Ms Marshall screams at me like as if she's going to beat me up!
Ugh the people that make these comments are the worst. In some subjects I can write a paper in only an hour or two, but this does not apply to every subject. It also varies from person to person. Unless you're a preppy MENSA kid who can complete a whole series of calculus tests in less than 30 minutes, this is an inaccurate statement.
Kids should take time or they will rush and fail.
Only someone who is dumber than Dumbo himself would actually think that this statement is a fact. The natives were the first ones to discover America by thousands of years, and long before that idiot Columbus was even conceived there were an entire handful of Northern European Vikings who had already set foot on the North American continent itself. And what did Columbus even "discover"? Just a few insignificant islands that aren't even located on either of the American continental plates. Yeah, TOTALLY the one who discovered America.
Yeah, Columbus discovered America just like how Logan Paul discovered Japan.
He discovered America, if not then who else?
Threats and school shootings are real. No school is 100% safe.
School shootings, abuse, etc.
Partially, but they don't teach you things you need like paying for insurance, taxes, fees, etc. Why, schools?
Most of the time that is not the case, most kids especially from middle to high school don't care about that.
Milk allergies and sensitivity are real.
Semi-true because I have realized that the closer and brighter your T.V. screen it, the blurrier your vision will be. Happened to me until I lowered the brightness down
This isn't a lie..I sat extremely close to the T.V. as a toddler a lot. I now wear glasses.
Some popular video games are educational like Minecraft or some teach morals like Undertale, so no, video games aren't bad for you.
Gamers is richer than school headmaster will ever be.
No you don't, I know someone who already got a job, and he didn't even finish school
They'll say that, but then overlook the most obvious cases of bullying, discrimination, or racism.
Some people are just ordinary and there is nothing special about them, yet teachers and parents will tell this to their kids and students.
That is the point no one is special because everyone is special, it is almost like we are human beings that are each unique
And some like Hitler
So does bullies?
