Still doing it after all these years. The Metal God!

He's the original randy blythe - gemcloben
He is definitely one of the best. His songs contain a mix of rap, growls, singing, and screaming..A feat that most singers can't boast.

He is the best...
A singer who sings better than you can imagine...

One of the original metal singers - gemcloben
Mr. Golden Voice - one of the best ever. His personality is unbelievable, too. It's really sad that he's underrated in some segments of the metal community. - Metal_Treasure

The greatest voice is right here - powerful, resonant, expressive, emotive. Very distinctive timbre, amazing technical skills, overall - ear raping vocals. His tonal versatility is unmatched - surprisingly angelic and shockingly demonic voice at the same time. You can often hear this incredible contrast within one song - you hear both Heaven and Hell. His voice just epitomizes the metal vocals and his lyrics - the nature of the metal genre: "Taste no evil, touch no evil... All I think and feel is evil" (My Last Sunrise).
This guy's got everything for a fair #1 on this list.
Songs by Demons & Wizards " My Last Sunrise, Heaven Denies, Path Of Glory, Crimson King, Tear Down The Wall, Fiddler On The Green.
Songs by Blind Guardian " Majesty, The Bard's Song, Thorn, Time What Is Time, Sacred Worlds. - Metal_Treasure

The most aggressive singer ever - gemcloben

One of the best voices in metal! He is not so famous outside Finland but should be. An amazing vocal range.
What a voice, I wish he was more famous because he deserves it!
Try one of Ahola's live performances in Viiala, last stop of his X-Mas charity tour - copy and paste into the YouTube window:
Ave Maria -- J. Ahola -- 8.12.2013
Oh My God, what a voice! He's a metal singer but his Ave Maria (live! ) reveals his capacity to be an opera singer, too - the second half is more impressive, especially towards the end (after 2:45). - Metal_Treasure
He's an amazing young singer from Finland. His skills are natural - he wasn't trained but very often he hits the notes such as an opera singer and those notes sound very powerful and absolutely effortless, even live.
His sustain is really impressive - he does that very often and effortless for 6-10 seconds and even 14-15 seconds! (Teräsbetoni - Pyhä maa, 3:15).
Here's his gorgeous voice on an epic slow metal song: Teräsbetoni - Teräksen taakka (2008).
Also try an ELO cover: Northern Kings - Don't bring me down (intro scream and 2:55-3:05! ) - Metal_Treasure
The Contenders

Best south-American singer ever - gemcloben

His voice reaches operatic power and his tone is raw but pleasant somehow. It sounds quite unique and is quickly recognizable. Matt can handle intense epic pieces like "Dante's Inferno" (Iced Earth).

This guy is really talented - godly range, beautiful tenor voice, amazing vocal skills.
Edguy - Nailed to the wheel, Mysteria. - Metal_Treasure
No kidding, he sounds like Bruce Dickinson Jr.
Very cool metal tone, very agile voice. Remarkable technical skills, too.
Check out: Edguy - Nailed to the Wheel; Sacrifice; New Age Messiah; Mysteria.
If you're a Maiden fan you may like his lyrics of the song 'England' (2014, bonus track):
Vienna has got Mozart
Chopin they had in Paris (kind of)
The Catholics got the Pope
England's got the Beatles
And even more so:
England's got Steve Harris
England's got Steve Harris
And if that wasn't enough for you
England's got Bruce Dickinson
And on top of it - the other ones
In Iron Maiden too, yes it's true - Metal_Treasure

Clean vocals but spiced with some of the most 'evil' vocal effects and screams in metal.
Check out:
Savatage - Hall Of The Mountain King, Morphine Child, Commissar, Gutter Ballet, Surrender, Jesus Saves.
Avantasia - Death Is Just a Feeling. - Metal_Treasure

Actually I am here to Vote for Kiske... The best! But I am totally shocked that Eric - This awesome singer is only Nö 25!

Marilyn Manson is just a rip-off of this legend. - gemcloben
Alice has elements of metal. Albums like Brutal Planet are pretty much metal. Very diverse artist and a true legend.
Uncle Alice Cooper is a great showman but I never thought of him as metal because he is not - his stuff is shock rock.
And yes, M. Manson is shock rock, too, just updated. None of them is metal. - Metal_Treasure

Yngwie - I Am A Viking, As Above So Below, Disciples Of Hell, Anguish And Fear, Mistreated (Deep Purple cover). - Metal_Treasure

Hell yeah! The first metal screamer?
Great vox - the first typical metal singer (operatic style). His screams are legendary - from regular to bizarre and psychotic.
Ex. - "Disturbing the priest" (Black Sabbath), "Child In Time" (Deep Purple).
Gillan vox for Jesus Christ Superstar - amazing, too.
Pavarotti himself called Ian Gillan "a genius". - Metal_Treasure

His voice resembles Dio so much - check out his cover of 'Don't talk to strangers'. You are gonna be pleasantly surprised. - Metal_Treasure

Currently a singer for Primal Fear, ex-singer for Gamma Ray. In case you don't know - this guy was a frontrunner as Halford's replacement in Judas Priest in the mid 90s. Ralf lost out to Tim Ripper Owens because... he didn't answer several questions sent to him over internet. I don't know the reason - if he didn't see this email, or something else. So there wasn't a real duel between them as singers. I love them both and can't say who is better but I think Ralf's voice and singing style sound closer to Rob's.

Judas Priest - Cathedral Spires.
Amazing vox. - Metal_Treasure

His voice on kill em all - gemcloben
His distinctive roar instantly speaks 'metal' to me. Very addictive voice. - Metal_Treasure

Think about it. bruce Dickinson was hired to replace this guy. - gemcloben

He can do both clean vocals and growls, and very often he switches between them within one song ('Everything Invaded'). Sometimes he sings on the borderline and this technique sounds really cool and interesting (example - 'Sacrificial').
His clean voice is hypnotizing and unusually low for metal, where higher voices are preferred ('Opium', 'White Omega', 'Mr. Crowly' - Ozzy cover). - Metal_Treasure

A hypnotizing and rare type of voice - baritenor (baritone's voice, tenor's range). Sounds awesome. A very dark combination of Jim Morrison, Ozzy and Elvis.
Songs: How The Gods Kill, Am I Demon, Mother. - Metal_Treasure

The best South-American singer (Brazil). He reminds me so much of Michael Kiske - Kiske was his idol for sure.
Try:
Angra - Metal Icarus
Shaman - Distant Thunder (it's live version is great, too).
- Metal_Treasure

Pain of Salvation - Sisters, Linoleum, Hallelujah. - Metal_Treasure

Lost Horizon - Highlander.
A vocal performance that can compete with Painkiller and Victim of Changes. - Metal_Treasure
