At any rate a developed country, but unfortunately gets looped in with the rest of Latin america and is thought of as poor and dangerous, when it couldn't be further from the truth. As a matter of fact you're probably safer in Buenos aires then in Boston. they have a very high human development index, very high literacy and astounding education.

I'm sorry, why is this so low on the list!? Costa Rica runs on 99% renewable energy and has so much vibrant culture. Almost 25% of the land is government-owned national land and people are payed to preserve the environment! It has everything from jungle mountains, black sand beaches and almost any jungle animal you can think of! Plus, only 4 million people live there, half of New York City's population!
