Top 10 Kaiju Movies of the 2010s
This is my list of all Kaiju films of the 2010s. There are only 10, and I won't include Colossal since it's barely a Kaiju film. The same goes for Ready Player One, even though it features King Kong and Mechagodzilla. So, let's get on with it:
This movie means a lot to me. It's just too perfect as an American Godzilla film. The whole thing is great, and it shows that Godzilla is brilliant. Michael Dougherty, you are just a legend! The Kaijus are amazing! Mothra is the best part of the film. She's already the best Kaiju of the MonsterVerse! I will fight anyone who disagrees!
King Ghidorah is awesome as well - probably the best incarnation of Ghidorah! Rodan had an amazing design. The others, like Behemoth, are pretty cool too! Can't wait for Godzilla vs. Kong! Oh! And the music is perfect! It has the theme! Godzilla's theme by Ifukube is like the best part. Same goes for Yuji Koseki's Mothra's Song! Ghidorah's new theme is scarier and better! Ugh! I just love it!
I also love the characters. Serizawa is the best! So is Dr. Chen, aka Shobijin 1. I love Madison, Jonah, Mark, Barnes, and a few others. It's also amazing to see Huston Brooks again after Skull Island. Sure, there are a few dumb ones, like Sam Coleman, but other than that, brilliant movie!
Oh! And Godzilla's design is a huge improvement over the 2014 design. I love the dorsal plates (remind me of the 1954 design). Awesome!
I love this film! I can't deny that Kong was great in this one. The human characters are great. I loved John Goodman's character, but it upset me when they killed him. Huston Brooks was great in this one, and he did return for KOTM. Some human characters are good, some are annoying. But other than that, it's awesome!
The Skull Crawlers are awesome, no denying that. It also has the best post-credit scene ever! Sorry, KOTM. Still a great movie! Go watch it!
I love this film - it grew on me! I don't care what anyone says. The lines are still in my head. I love the elements that this film has.
The only problem is that it was too dark. The fight scenes are harder to follow because of it. The MUTOs are the best original Kaijus of the MonsterVerse. I'm sad that Godzilla had less screentime in this one (thank God KOTM fixed that). The music is pretty good.
What can I say about this film that hasn't been said already? It's kinda overrated, but I still love it. Shin is pretty terrifying. I remember going to see that movie in theaters, and I had a blast with it. The human characters are the best part of the film.
I love that main female character... she is gorgeous! The music is nicely executed. Persecution of the Masses and Who Will Know are the most memorable parts of the soundtrack.
I still enjoy this film. When I first saw trailers for it, I was confused. It looked like Godzilla meets Transformers. But I saw it, and it was good. There were a few things that bothered me, but other than that, it's not bad at all.
The Jaegers, however... they're not as good as our boy Jet Jaguar.
This movie is alright. I do like the idea of one of the most popular arcade games being adapted into a film. The designs are cool. It's pretty shocking that the actor in motion capture who played George the Gorilla also played Ghidorah's middle head in KOTM. Awesome.
The Rock did pretty well. The action scenes are nicely executed. The only problem is that it was a little slow.
Bad movie. Awful story! Ghidorah's theme is okay, and I'm glad he's an alien. But still, it's a bad movie. Even though it's the least bad of the anime trilogy, it's still bad.
This film is boring as hell... the human characters are awful. Godzilla's design is... not the best. The story is a complete joke. Nothing more.
This movie is garbage! The worst installment of the anime trilogy. This film makes me mad just thinking about it. Mechagodzilla was broken and useless. Like, what was the point!?!?!
The story is awful! The ending was bad. I can't say much more, but it's garbage! The only good part is Scarlett Godzilla. Other than that, it's bad.
Oh boy! This one is awful! The characters are so dumb... even the main villain of the film. I know I should never mock this film, but it's really sad that one of the cast members, Cameron Boyce, passed away a while ago.
I know there was a Battra and Gigan Easter egg in this film somewhere (I noticed it when I first saw the movie). But other than those things, the movie was trash.
