Top 10 Best Movies of 2020
I'm gonna be brutally honest here, 2020 didn't produce very good films. It's probably because of the whole situation with COVID, in which I hope you all remain safe. But most "good" movies of 2020 are family movies. Most family movies aren't considered to be "great" unless their like Disney or DreamWorks. Let's see what I thought was good about the movies in 2020. Sonic was actually good for a live action movie, Onward was also pretty good, Hamilton is great (although it isn't even a movie and it came out in 2016 not 2020, they made it into a film version this year), Invisible Man was okay, the Justice League movie was actually surprisingly good, and lastly, TENET was awesome, also The Gentlemen. Every other movie this year, I'm neutral about or I think they suck.
This movie is so good. First off, we got a redesign, which proves the people wanted this movie to be really good. Next, the characters and plot is likeable. I thought the humans would be confusing, but they actually seem right in this movie after we learned about them. I also like the many references in this movie that sonic fans will enjoy, but the references doesn't distract you from the movie. The message is also cool. This and detective pikachu proved live action game movies can be good. I also like how we see tails at the end, which means we will most likely get a sequel, especially because Tails was looking for Sonic. All in all S tier movie. Not only best movie of 2020, but best movie EVER MADE! - MarioMaster101 (I forgot my information so I just wrote my profile name)
I think this is a good movie. Sure the story is generic and the acting is just OK but I think it is great visually and I was laughing a lot watching this movie. They made a lot of good jokes out of Sonic's speed and Jim Carrey's performance as Eggman was just amazing. Also I love how the crazy guy's drawing of Sonic looks like Sanic. That's just awesome. Sure there were a few problems but this is better than most video game movies out there and it's great that they fixed Sonic's original design because the movie might have done worse if they didn't fix it. It cost a delay for the movie but it was worth it in my opinion. Overall I recommend it.
This is a good movie. Everything is on spot, the humor is top-notch, the plot and the visuals are great, everything makes sense in this movie! It's way more satisfying and enjoyable than many of the highly anticipated movies in the last 10 years.
Whether or not the redesign of Sonic was a publicity stunt, I'm glad this movie drew attention. It deserves all of it.
Also, unpopular opinion: Jim Carrey as Dr. Eggman ended up being the worst part of the movie. I mean, he was good, but everything else was just better.
My rating: 8/10.
Soul is by far the best film of 2020. I think this movie also really helped restore people's faith in Pixar for making actual good movies with great stories. Lots of the newer Pixar films aren't that good (especially the Cars franchise). The movies that kept Pixar afloat during that time was Toy Story 3 (maybe 4), Coco, Inside Out, and this movie. I would say Soul is one of the best animated films Pixar has made and one of the best of all time.
Probably one of the most well-made films of all time, on the level of Studio Ghibli. It has a far deeper message than any Pixar film, let alone american film. I expected it to be a low-key Inside Out rehash, but it came with far more twists than I imagined. Definitely one of the best Pixar movies. It's a shame it won't get much recognition due to not having been released to theaters, but either way, it's a masterpiece
It was very funny, but very...what's the word...soulful. It was a little bit scary too. The whole time I was watching, I was thinking, 'What if that happens to me?' So a bit scary too.
Soulful (sorry) and beautiful movie. Funny and intriguing and mystical at the same time. Not the best Pixar movie, but certainly lives up to our expectations.
Has got to be one of the most underrated Pixar movies of recent times. Yeah sure, it isn't as iconic as say Coco or Toy Story, but it's still a really emotional and deep film which Pixar really poured their heart and soul into. If I had a complaint about, I guess there was a little..., too much action? For this type of movie, I felt the constant twists were a little too much and took away some of the enjoyment, but I still loved the film. One of Pixar's best honestly.
This movie was pretty good. It was funny how it flopped in the theaters and went straight to Disney+. The only thing I found that was disappointing was that the whole movie the main characters were trying to bring their dad back to life. Although at the end of movie, only one of the main characters saw the dad. We didn't even really get to see him. So I was kind of sad that we barely get to see the dad for 5 minutes. Besides that, this movie was actually great.
Even though a lot of people didn't see it as one of Pixar's best, I still liked it as there's still a lot of heart and goofy, fun jokes and good characters. Maybe it's not on the tier of movies like Up or Toy Story but at least it doesn't try to recycle all of Inside Out's plot elements like Pixar will need to avoid doing in the future, as good as Inside Out is.
This movie was legendary.
Pixar always has the best movie plots. Like, seriously. Their whole theme is so awesome! (The "what-if" theme in all their movies).
I love this animation studio, and what they did with this movie. It's something that a LOT of people can relate to. I won't say anymore about it, but it's really a phenomenal film. Go watch it on Disney+!
No one is voting for this movie just because it is made by Christopher Nolan. It is a great film, not his best or without flaws but it is still great. Those who hate it don't understand it. Those who understand it watched it more than once. It is that kind of movie because it is very high paced with a very complex plot and a high concept of reversal of time and a very dense dialogue with lots of big words you probably won't understand till you take out the dictionary. This film is multilayered like an onion with many things going on that are never explained. You have to watch this movie with subtitles and pay attention to everything on screen or you will be completely lost.
One of the weakest Christopher Nolan movies, but he made some of my favorite movies, so don't think that this is a bad thing, I would still say that this is the best movie of 2020 (if Hamilton doesn't count).
I regret watching it on streaming. I mean seriously, why not go back to reopening cinemas during the pandemic?
Got an early screening of this film and it is Nolan's best film to date. This deserves to be in the top 10.
Surprised to see this 4th. I thought it was hated.
It's good but not very funny.
It was good to be honest
The gorilla is so cute
A beautiful twist on the series, with a more dark dramatic storyline while still keeping in the lighthearted comedy of the first two.
This movie felt strange to me because I had never watched the previous two but I was fun regardless. I guess, I'll vote for it too.
Best of the year so far.
Best bad boys movie
Surprisingly haunting and well directed. Leigh Whannell is two for two with me, with Upgrade being one of my favourites from recent memory. So I guess go watch upgrade if you're reading this.
Suspense done right. The Invisible Man is a scary, tense, and anxiety-inducing film that will keep you invested from start to finish, and it's ofter scarier than what you can see. Elizabeth Moss gives us a realistic performance that shreds emotion throughout.
This movie is well worth a watch, even if you don't like horror movies.
Another great Spongebob movie where I laughed tears! Very entertaining and full of humour! An absolute recommendation for every Spongebob fan!
This film was brilliant as well! For me, only Sonic The Hedgehog betters this film!
Not as good as the first two films, but it's still very fun to watch.
I honestly can't think of any other person besides Margot Robbie who can play Harley to such a tee. Even though I think the story in this film is extremely flawed, you gotta admit, it was fun to watch.
Way better than sonic and onward! Amazing action, soundtrack, story, and acting.
Fantastic, funny and heartwarming film!
Funny. Decent my friends.
I honestly think this movie deserves to be higher on the list. Cartoon Saloon's movies are always stunning and enticing. This movie was possibly one of their best. From the incredible animation methods, to the story, to the art itself, this movie has become an easy favorite for me. You could pause this movie at almost any moment, and get something poster-worthy and beautiful. It even had some fun little Easter eggs from the studio's past movies: Song of the sea, and Secret of Kells. I 100% recommend this movie for any lover of animation.
This movie should be #1. So many people just have not watched it, and I find that very sad. This movie is absolutely beautiful.
Amazing movie, full of tension comedy and an overall solid story
I love Scooby-Doo. I love all the monsters and mysteries, practically all the movies, but they have started to go overboard. You can't blame me. Think about it. They have about 3 whole different episode series of just this. Then, they came out with this movie! They added characters for more entertainment but that just made it worse. And there were practically no monsters in it what-so-ever. And I know it's supposed to be about their before life when they first got together and things like that, but I mean, if they wanted to do this, they should have done it at the beginning of all the other Scooby Doo movies. It's way to late now and they screwed it up. The main and overall issue is that all of the other Scooby-Doo movies have one thing in common: it has monsters. In this one, it's just about how Velma, Shaggy, Daphne, Fred, and Scooby all got together. There is no monsters in the movie when litterally the Scooby-Doo purpose is to be about monsters. If they had clue solving and ...more
Ok, I've been a HUGE Scooby-Doo fan my whole life. The mysteries are always original, the characters are creatively written, and I enjoy watching them even today. I hated this movie. It was NOT, in ANY WAY, a Scooby-Doo movie, even if he was featured. No mystery. No real suspense. The movie was basically Shaggy throwing a fit that Scooby removed the collar to SAVE THE FREAKING WORLD, while meaning no harm! Real mature, great job ruining Scooby-Doo and teaching impressionable youngsters that throwing a fit is ok. 2/10 tops.
Considering I never was a big Scooby-Doo fan as a kid, I LOVED this film! Fourth best to Sonic, Sponge On The Run and Detective Pikachu
It was ok in my opinion. I liked the cultural references, especially that f-bomb joke. It was quite entertaining to watch, but it was missing the mystery element of its source and Shaggy and Velma's voices don't fit in. If they are gonna do a sequel, hopefully it does better, and Shaggy and Velma get new voices. Overall, not the best movie of 2020, but pretty well done.
I watched it and it mostly feels like a really long episode. It's like 30% movie, 70% indistinguishable from a normal episode.
It's impractical jokers. It's great.
I haven't watched it yet but I liked the TV show so I gave this a vote
Great movie based on a great book. Great CGI dog and storyline! What more could a moviegoer want?
I went to see this with my friend, and this movie gave us all the feels!
This was like the only good movie of 2020. Harrison Ford, awesome cgi dog!
I've seen this 3 times at the cinema! Worth it
Who doesn't love Phineas and Ferb it was a wonderful movie, however people without Disney+ will have to find alternative ways to watch this amazing movie
This movie was awesome regardless of what any hater says. I'm looking forward a sequel. Make it happen, Sony!
I love this movie
An American direct-to-video adult animated science fantasy superhero film produced by Warner Bros. Animation and distributed by Warner Home Video.
They killed everyone, but I heard it's good.
Such a great movie! Emotional, action-packed, deep, surprising, tear-jerking, and... wonderful!
Amazing musical! Please don't pull this. Like Lin Manuel Miranda said "It's the story of America then told by America now". Every single moment of this was stunning.
I LOVED the plot and casting for this movie! Each character has their own personality, and It was overall an amazing movie.
I personally don't count this as a movie, but if I would it would definitely be my favorite movie of the year so far.
I think this would be number one, I waited so long to finally see the original cast and oh boy was it worth it, I still watch this play and it never gets old
