Best Characters in Les Misérables (2012)
The best thing about stories like Les Misérables is that there are many wonderful, and some not-so-much wonderful, adaptations to watch. This version (currently the most recent) is perhaps the greatest cinematic adaptation. Since they are all different, some characters that are terrific in one version, may be lacking in another. These are the best characters from the 2012 film.I do not like this movie. It's a bit clumsy of an adaptation. However, I loved a few of the performances. One was Eddie Redmayne. One was Aaron Tveit. One was Anne Hathaway. Daniel Huttlestone was all right, too. But Samantha Barks did the best, in my opinion.
I think she should have at least been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars. I hope I can see her on stage someday.
I saw her at West End on her second day, June 22, 2010. And I saw her in the movie. She was amazing and is still amazing. She is my role model and favorite actress. She has an amazing voice and acting skills, to say the least. Her facial emotions are heartbreaking.
She is gorgeous inside and out and has a bright future ahead of her.
He never ceases to amaze me. At first, I was very iffy about him playing Enjolras, but after I heard him sing and watched some videos of him singing, he completely won me over.
Oh my god, I love Aaron so much. I almost got tickets to see him in Assassins, but they sold out just as I was about to buy them.
Such a perfect role for him. It was very believable. Very, very passionate.
In my opinion, she's my number one favorite celebrity in the entire world because she's really nice.
Awww, I just love Valjean, and it always makes me sad when he dies.
But my FAVORITE character is Javert. The only reason I didn't vote for him is that I just don't feel that Crowe quite lived up to the role. He was just a little too wooden for me. But Hugh nailed it.
I love him. He is the perfect Marius. He has the perfect voice for the part, and he shows the perfect emotion during Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.
Eddie Redmayne portrayed Marius so beautifully. His voice was absolutely wonderful, and Empty Chairs at Empty Tables made me bawl.
Although Helena Bonham Carter was better, I still think he did a good job.
She is my favorite actress, and she is actually kind of hot.
She is acting so fabulously! And hot.
Although he received a lot of criticism for this role, I think that Russell Crowe succeeded in bringing a new angle to Javert that couldn't have been portrayed in the stage show.
I don't know why everyone hated him. Crowe was great. He did something to Javert that no one else ever did.
Russell Crowe was great in this movie!
The perfect choice for Cosette. Her first film, and she was brilliant! The way she sang Castle on a Cloud was just beautiful, as if she were holding back the sadness she felt. Brilliant for such a young actress.
There are no words to explain the love I have for Gavroche. In the darkest hours of my life, I know I can turn to him, although he may be fictional. It upsets me that I will never be able to meet him or have someone in my reality like him.
I played him in our high school spring musical, and stepping into his shoes moved me. He had more courage than the students and died for what he believed in as a little kid.
Gavroche is my favorite character, and he totally rocked it!
I was very surprised when I saw how low he was on this list! George plays Grantaire's unrequited love for Enjolras (which was in the book) with amazing realism. Personally, Grantaire has always been a favorite character of mine, and George played him beautifully.
