Best Characters in Les Misérables (2012)
The best thing about stories like Les Misérables is that there are many wonderful, and some not-so-much wonderful, adaptations to watch. This version (currently the most recent) is perhaps the greatest cinematic adaptation. Since they are all different, some characters that are terrific in one version, may be lacking in another. These are the best characters from the 2012 film.I do not like this movie. It's a bit clumsy of an adaptation. However, I loved a few of the performances. One was Eddie Redmayne. One was Aaron Tviet. One was Anne Hathaway. Daniel Huttlestone was all right, too. But Samantha Barks did the best in my opinion. I think she should have at least been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars. I hope I can see her on stage someday.
I saw her at West End her second day on June 22, 2010. And I saw her in the movie. She was amazing and is still amazing. She is my role model and famous actress. She has an amazing voice and acting skills to say the least. Her facial emotions are heartbreaking, and she is gorgeous in and out and has a bright future ahead of her.
Such an amazing actress and singer. She is so pretty and her live singing is amazing. Her range is amazing and I can see her becoming really successful as a singer and actress (especially as a singer; I can see her being up there with Demi Lovato and people) She has the looks, the acting skills and the voice.
Such a brilliant actress (stage and screen) her sing A Little Fall Of Rain has me in floods of tears. Brilliant list by the way!
He never ceases to amaze me. At first I was very iffy about him playing enroljas, but after I heard him sing and watched some videos of him singing he completely won me over
Oh my god, I love Aaron so much. I almost got tickets to see him in Assassins but they sold out just as I was about to buy them
Such a perfect role for him, it was very believable. Very very passionate
I had a dream he play enjolras. I want he's baby.
Why on earth did she win an oscar instead of Samantha?
She's a great actress
Awww, I just love Valjean and it always makes me sad when he dies. ):
But my FAVORITE character is Javert. The only reason I didn't vote for him is because I just don't feel that Crowe quite lived up to the role. He was just a little too wooden for me. Buy Hugh nailed it.
I love Valjean, and I know this list was based off of the movie, but Hugh Jackman was terribly weak.
Of course him, and just him.
I love him, he is the perfect Marius. He has the perfect voice for the part and he shows the perfect emotion during empty chairs at empty tables.
Eddie Redmayne portrayed Marius so beautifully. His voice was absolutely wonderful, and Empty Vhairs at Empty Tables made me bawl.
Although Helena Bonham Carter was better, I still think he did a good job
She is my favorite actress, and she is actually kind of hot.
She is acting so fabulous! And hot
She rules over the inn
Although he copped a lot of criticism for this role I think that Russell Crowe succeeded in bringing a new angle to Javert that couldn't have been portrayed in the stage show.
Don't know why everyone hated him. Crowe was great, he did something to Javert that no one else ever did.
Russell Crowe was great in this movie!
He is Javert so I have to like him!
She has a nice voice
The perfect choice for Cosette. Her first film and she was brilliant! The way she sang Castle on a Cloud was just beautiful as if she were holding back the sadness she felt. Brilliant for such a young actress
She was amazing
There are no words to explain the love I have for Gavroche. In the darkest hours of my life, I know I can turn to him, although he may be fictional. It upsets me that I will never be able to meet him or have someone in my reality like him.
I played him in our highschool spring musical and stepping into his shoes moved me. He had more courage then the students and died for what he believed in as a little kid
Gavroche is my favorite character, and he totally rocked it!
I was very surprised when I saw how low down he was on this list! George plays Grantaire's unrequited love for Enjolras (which was in the book) with amazing realism, and personally Grantaire has always been a favourite character of mine and George played him beautifully
The true hero
