Top Ten Most Iconic Movie Quotes of the 21st Century
"It's alive!""Here's looking at you, kid."
"Well, nobody's perfect."
"Shaken, not stirred."
"I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse."
"I am your father!"
"Run, Forrest, Run!"
The 20th century left a huge legacy of movie quotes that went down in history and became an essential part of worldwide culture. Even kids who have never even heard of the movies, let alone seen them, know these quotes, often from parodies in cartoons, often from other people's use in everyday life. Surely, the 21st century will have such lines as well, especially since it has the internet, which was not present throughout most of the 20th century and will probably cause quotes to gain a legendary status much faster. Some quotes already do have a certain use in everyday language, and there sure will be more to come.
I am torn between this and the original number one.
It's a bit long to be quoted in everyday life, but it's already one of the most famous movie scenes in recent movie history.
This is from the most successful German movie in Germany, a western film parody from 2001. In the scene the two protagonists, the Native American Abahachi and the white man Ranger, who are blood brothers, are bound to a stake due to a stupidity by Abahatchi. Ranger rants about how they always end up in situations like this, and among others says this line, which translates to "I'm not satisfied with the whole situation! ", which became one of the most famous lines in German movie history.
Somehow this masterpiece and this particular scene became famous on an international level. Well deserved.
