Top 10 Best Albums Between Metallica and Megadeth
Easily the best album between the two. Listen to Tornado of Souls, Hangar 18, and Holy Wars, and you'll understand why.
Best metal album ever.
Actual thrash metal.
I knew this list would exist.
Swaying to the symphony of destruction!
The Newcomers
The true comeback of Megadeth. Definitely deserves a top 10 spot. I encourage everyone who thinks Megadeth ended with "Youthanasia," "Countdown to Extinction," or "Rust in Peace" (take your pick) to listen to this album.
A few spoilers:
Everything except the last two songs is worth attention, but the following tracks deserve a special mention:
- Kick The Chair (that solo)
- Scorpion (a generally very good song)
- Back in the Day (the best, most energetic song they recorded since the "Rust in Peace" album. Perfect from beginning to end)
P.S. If I were to choose the top of this list, it would look something like this:
1. Rust in Peace (best metal album ever)
2. Ride the Lightning ("Fight Fire with Fire" isn't great, but the rest rivals "Rust in Peace")
3. Kill 'Em All (Metallica + Mustaine - what more could you need? Great debut)
4. Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? (second best from Megadeth. I love the guitar work)
5. The System Has Failed (as I said before...)
6. Th1rt3en (I personally liked this album. It has a mood, and "Sudden Death" is one of the best 21st-century songs)
7. Youthanasia (heavily underrated, better than its predecessor... P.S. Why are there two copies of this?)
8. Black Album (for "Enter Sandman," "The Unforgiven," "Sad but True," and "Wherever I May Roam")
9. Killing Is My Business... And Business is Good (Megadeth also started strong, though not as well as Metallica)
10. Master of Puppets (yes, that low - overrated as hell. Almost half the album is filler)
11. Dystopia (wow, Mustaine still has ideas. Listen to "Fatal Illusion" and "Conquer or Die!")
12. Countdown to Extinction (overrated but still good)
13. ...And Justice for All (the weakest of early Metallica. "One" is brilliant - probably the best metal song ever - but most of the album is boring filler)
