Great songwriter, and the Heartbreakers will always be one of my favorite bands.

19 Ronnie James Dio Ronnie James Dio (born Ronald James Padavona; July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010) was an American heavy metal singer, songwriter and musician. He fronted and/or founded numerous groups including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven & Hell. He is credited with popularizing the "metal horns" hand gesture in metal culture and is known for his medieval themed lyrics. Dio possessed a powerful versatile vocal range capable of singing both hard rock and lighter ballads; according to Rainbow/Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore upon hearing him sing, "I felt shivers down my spine." Dio sold over 47 million albums throughout his career. He died from stomach cancer in 2010 at the age of 67.

I don't listen to much metal, but I love Dio's work. He had an awesome voice.

20 Gary Moore Robert William Gary Moore was a Northern Irish musician, most widely recognised as a singer, songwriter, and virtuoso rock and blues guitarist.

A tremendously underrated guitarist. He was so versatile that it's still incredible to look at his catalogue and see what he recorded.

21 Levon Helm Mark Lavon "Levon" Helm was an American rock 'n' roller, Americana musician, and actor who achieved fame as the drummer and regular lead vocalist for The Band.

He died after a long struggle with throat cancer, which gradually claimed his singing voice. Now, sadly, we can't hear his voice anymore; it's a pity.

22 Jon Lord Jonathan Douglas "Jon" Lord was an English composer, pianist, and Hammond organ player known for his pioneering work in fusing rock with classical or baroque forms, especially with Deep Purple, as well as Whitesnake, Paice Ashton Lord, The Artwoods, and The Flower Pot Men.

One of my all-time favorite keyboardists. I love the aggressiveness in his playing.

23 Alvin Lee Alvin Lee was an English singer and guitarist, best known as the lead vocalist and lead guitarist of the blues rock band Ten Years After.

He died in Spain in 2013. He's a criminally underrated guitarist; in terms of sheer speed, he was incredible.

24 Ray Manzarek Raymond Daniel Manczarek, Jr., better known as Ray Manzarek, was an American musician, singer, producer, film director, and author.

I think that his keyboard, along with Jim's vocals, was the most critical element of the Doors' sound.

25 Tommy Ramone Thomas Erdelyi, better known by his stage name Tommy Ramone, was a Hungarian American record producer, musician, and songwriter.

The last of the four original Ramones to pass away. He passed away from bile duct cancer.
