Best Songs On Marilyn Manson's The Pale Emperor

The Top Ten
Cupid Carries a Gun

How can this not be in first place!? It has the most impactful background music and the most prominent melody on the album. The only other track with a remotely memorable tune is "Warship My Wreck."

After careful listening, "Cupid Carries a Gun" is the best track since the "Personal Jesus" cover. It has an amazing riff, unlike any other since Pink Floyd's "Dogs of War." This track features one of the most systematically synchronized background tunes ever composed, and every beat perfectly matches the lyrics. The crescendo and climax are unforgettable. This should be number one, hands down, as it's not just the best on this album but one of Manson's best compositions overall.

Warship My Wreck

This is an amazing track with one of the most powerful instrumental compositions on the album. There's a fierce tension that builds throughout the first portion and collapses in an explosive climax. The primary chorus guides the dark mood of the instrumental verse with its intense guitar tune.

The ending is phenomenal, matching the lyrics "Cannot say, I'm breaking the rules if I can glue them back together" with the falling denouement of the track. This piece is second only to "Cupid Carries a Gun" in terms of melody and beat. It easily tops the remainder of the album and is one of Manson's most melodically driven songs.

Odds of Even

This track is atmospheric and slow-moving, but it holds a fierce riff and sustained melody that synchronize with the drop in musical tone. The "angels die in the arms of demons" lyric perfectly complements the dark ambiance.

Dark atmosphere and terrific lyrics - the best of all.

The Mephistopheles of Los Angeles

Rock's not dead because Marilyn Manson is still here. Great song.

The best Marilyn Manson song!

Slave Only Dreams to Be King
Third Day of a Seven Day Binge

I'd rather be your victim than to be with you. - Marilyn Manson

Deep Six

I mean, "Cupid Carries a Gun" is a fantastic song [it is number 1 at the time of this post], but it really pales in comparison to the song "Deep Six."
