Best Nickelodeon Shows of 2017

The Top Ten
1 The Loud House The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. The series revolves around the chaotic suburban everyday life of a boy named Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters, to which he survives as the middle child and only son in a large family of eleven children. Originally set to premier on January 2016, the series instead premiered on May 2, 2016, with the episodes... read more

I'm 17 years old and I don't really watch cartoons on kids channels anymore, but The Loud House is definitely one of the few exceptions (along with Star vs. The Forces of Evil on Disney ). I love watching The Loud House because it has a feel to shows I used to watch on Cartoon Network like Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (the creator of the Loud House used to work on those shows). Watching Lincoln interact with his 10 sisters and other characters are a lot of fun to watch. Also, the animation looks amazing and has a nice comic strip look to it, as well as the storylines, voice acting, references to other Nicktoons like SpongeBob and Jimmy Neutron, and humor. While there is a lot of toilet humor, it doesn't feel as obnoxious and gross as other Nicktoons over the past decade like Fanboy & Chum Chum, Sanjay & Craig, and Breadwinners. Overall, The Loud House is a nice breath of fresh air for Nickelodeon. The channel has been stuck on SpongeBob for years now, and (prior to The Loud House) hasn't seen a strong original Nicktoon since El Tigre in 2007, so it's nice to see a Non-SpongeBob Nicktoon finally succeed and even compete with SpongeBob in the ratings.

2 SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator the late Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is currently the most popular show on Nickelodeon, as well as the longest running show, running for 23 years, and is beginning its 13th season. The show revolves around a sea sponge called SpongeBob SquarePants and his adventures under the... read more

Honestly, this, Welcome to the Wayne and Hunter Street are the only good Nick shows right now. Sure, the show still seems to make a few bad episodes such as "Snooze you Lose", "Pat the Horse", "Krabby Patty Creature Feature", and "Krusty Katering" but there are still some amazing episodes such as "The Legends of Boo-Kini Bottom", "Mimic Madness", "Squid Noir", "Man Ray Returns" "Spin the Bottle" etc. The Loud House is just overrated and purely weak. That show has loads of toilet humor, unlikable characters, terrible plots etc. Bunsen is a Beast is one-dimensional and relies on stupid humor (feels like FOP season 10). Welcome to the Wayne is interesting, likable and has some great humor. Hunter Street is basically same thing.

The mid-to-late 2010s is an improving year for Nickelodeon. Usually, when it comes to T.V. networks, Nickelodeon is one of the worst besides TLC, Disney Channel and etc due to negative teen stereotypes, ways of pandering towards children, juvenile humor and mean-spiritedness.

I give SpongeBob SquarePants a B (I give seasons 6-9 a D).
I give Bunsen Is a Beast a B+.
I give Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a C+.
I give Hunter Street a B+.
I give Harvey Beaks a B-.
I give Ride a D-.
I give The Loud House a B.
I have not seen Paradise Run, but I guess it is a weaker version of Figure It Out (original series).
Despite the sharp animation, Pinky Malinky seems too silly.
I give Welcome to the Wayne a D.

3 Alvinnn!! and the Chipmunks

This show sucks. The voices are unbearable. Alvin is a jerk, imbecile, nitwit, and obnoxious douchebag. Simon is a nagging nerd. Theodore is just a huge baby. Dave is a whiner with anger issues. The female Chipmunks are just as annoying and bratty especially Brittany. I would pay money
to see someone make an episode where every character in the show faces a brutal death.

It's not as bad as Sanjay and Craig and Breadwinners, but it still sucks. Also, this show serves no purpose but to be a cashgrab. CH Greenblatt exposed the channel on his Tumblr and said that they only air this show for money. And its getting 3rd and 4th seasons.

This show stinks. 1/10 Spongebob is like 10,000,000 times better because this show just appeals to kids, while Spongebob appeals to all age groups in the family.

4 Henry Danger Henry Danger is an American superhero sitcom television series airing on Nickelodeon. The series was created by Dan Schneider and Dana Olsen. The series revolves around a 13-year-old boy who becomes the sidekick of a local superhero. On March 2, 2017, Nickelodeon announced that a new animated series, under the working title of The Adventures of Kid Danger and Captain Man, is in development with 10... read more

This is art what are you talking about. Spongebob and the loud house are garbage compared to this masterpiece. It is pure comedy genius, I literally coughed up my rib when watching this. I am in the hospital right now!

BEST SHOW EVER. This is a programme, my husband, I and our kids look forward to watching as a family. Love the humour. can't get enough. This show is anything, but boring.

Sometimes I have to sit through an episode of this if I want to watch Hunter Street. This show gives me headaches.

5 Welcome to the Wayne

This show just came out, and it's already incredibly underrated. Everyone dismisses it as "A shameless Gravity Falls rip off," and, albeit it does have some Gravity Falls inspired elements, it's its own cartoon. The mystery/monster element is present, and done pretty well. The characters, although a bit flat, are hilarious and have evident chemistry. Plus, there are some REALLY funny one-liners mixed in with the action and mystery, and it's a good balance. If you have the time, please check this show out. Knowing Nickelodeon, this show isn't going to last that long (or last so long, the novelty wears off), so enjoy it while it lasts. I recommend this to anyone who misses Gravity Falls, like I do.

Again, its also not out yet, but its coming out this year along with Pinky Malinky and possibly Mysticons and Sky Rat (but Mysticons and SR weren't announced at the upfront). It used to be a digital mini-series, but now they're making it into a full-fledged series. it seems promising.

6 Bunsen is a Beast Busen is a Beast is created by Fairly Odd Parents creator Butch Hartman. The show tells about a monster named Bunsen who goes to a human school and has many adventures.

Maybe I'm being too generous by putting this at the top spot, but whatever. Anyway, the show promotes diversity and has a unique art style for a Butch Hartman cartoon. According to the Nick Podcast, it has professional voice acting and tons of effort put into it. My favorite episode is when they had a crossover with The Fairly OddParents. It may not have a lot of episodes, but pretty soon it will air between the Nick Jr. block and the sitcom block along with Spongebob and Loud House, which is super great because that chunk of airtime did not have much diversity. It used to have Alvin and the Chipmunks but it was soon dropped. Maybe TMNT will air in that chunk of time too!

I like a lot of the Nickelodeon shows like SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, Harvey Beaks, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Thundermans,
Henry Danger, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, & Dawn, Game Shakers School of Rock, even The Loud House. They are all good shows but this one annoys me so much.

7 The Thundermans The Thundermans is an American tween sitcom created by Jed Springarn. The show first aired in 2013. This show is about a family of superheroes who have adjusted to living a normal suburban life. On July 27, 2017, Nickelodeon released a statement to J-14, stating that the series has wrapped production after 4 seasons and 103 episodes. The series ended on May 25th, 2018.

The fact that the decent PIEGUYRULEZ called The Thundermans "actually okay" despite how harsh he sounded on this film does not convince me that this show is not terrible.

No worries! This show won't be here for long. There's a possibility that this show will get cancelled soon later this year or in 2018.

I've been watching this show for years! The humor and adventure of these undercover superheroes never gets old!

8 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an American 3D rendered computer animated television series based on the fictional superhero team. It aired on Nickelodeon in the United States from September 29, 2012 to November 12, 2017.

It's honestly my favorite incarnation. The one from the 80's is cute, but super dated, the 2003 one had lots of good storylines, but I never saw much, and the Michael Bay films are cringeworthy. I really like the stories and characters, and even if season finales are kind of predictable sometimes, they're usually really good. Also, this incarnation has the best Karai. She's just awesome and perfectly written.

Okay, the show may have way too much merchandise, but it is still great and has action and a story arc, which most Nicktoons today don't. I'm glad that Nickelodeon bought this series. Plus its getting a spinoff in 2018.

This is one of my favorite shows of all time! I just got back into watching it, and now I'm like "Why did I ever stop watching this? " This should be number one, or at least number two (Spongebob's tough to beat).

9 Harvey Beaks Harvey Beaks is an American animated television series created by C.H. Greenblatt for Nickelodeon. Originally announced to premiere on March 29, 2015, the series instead premiered on March 28, 2015 following the 2015 Kids' Choice Awards.

I really wish Nickelodeon treated this show better and gave it the attention it deserves. Harvey Beaks was a show that excelled a lot in animation and writing. I grew up loving Chowder when I was in elementary school, and Harvey Beaks reminds me a lot of that show with it's unique environment, refreshing animation, and fantastic writing. I would've loved to see this show get the 3rd season it deserved, because it had a lot more potential than all those cheesy Teen Sitcoms and that dumb Alvin and the Chipmunks reboot Nickelodeon seems to love.

Harvey is a character who is strong by having a good nature, Fee is a character who is rude, impulsive and reckless but she remains likeable and foo is a character who serves as a comic relief but he can be taken seriously. It was A MISTAKE for Nick to cancel this show after its second season this show really deserved a third season.

10 Game Shakers Game Shakers is an American television sitcom created by Dan Schneider that premiered on Nickelodeon on September 12, 2015. The series revolves around two seventh graders named Babe and Kenzie who start the multi-million-dollar title gaming company and who take on rap superstar Double G as their business partner. The series also features Triple G, Double G's son, whom the girls hire as a game consultant,... read more

Who knew a science project could be valuable? When Babe and Kenzie created the mobile game "Sky Whale" for a seventh-grade project, they were just hoping for a passing grade. What they got, however, was one of the most popular games of the year, which led them to create a successful business that ma kes millions of dollars. Not everyone is happy with the girls, though; popular rapper Double G threatens to sue them when he finds out they have used one of his songs without his permission. To avoid any legal issues Babe and Kenzie decide to partner with the music star and hire his son, Triple G, as a gaming consultant. "Game Shakers" marks a return to Nickelodeon for Kel Mitchell (Double G), who first rose to fame in the '90s on the network's series "All That" and "Kenan & Kel."

The comedy in that show is hilarious.
And the arch about two girls who run a business is brilliant

It's going downhill but I still really like it.

The Contenders
11 Paradise Run

This show is a game show, and it is really cool and it was better than other live action shows such as Crashletes. At least Crashletes, Rank the Prank, and Jagger Eaton's Mega Life have not been announced at Nickelodeon's upfront, making them cancelled. Shame that Paradise Run got shafted to NickSports, but luckily it was renewed for a season 3.

Sounds like Super Mario Run in heaven.

It could do better

12 Mysticons Mysticons is an American-Canadian action-magical girl animated television series that premiered on August 28, 2017. The show is a collaboration between companies Nelvana Limited, Playmates Toys, and The Topps Company.
13 Hunter Street

It gives me a House of Anubis vibe. Its not a New Girl At School drama, and its not a sitcom with overplayed laugh tracks, but it's a show about mysteries and 5 foster children named Max, Anika, Tess, Daniel and Sal who are trying to find their missing parents. Sal is my favorite because is kind of like me. Unlike other shows on Nickelodeon, the family genuinely loves each other. I keep watching every weekday. Too bad that it will get taken off the air after its first season, like all the other story arc shows. Nick, please renew this for a season 2!

Even though this is not my favorite show of all time, I can nevertheless feel any fun factor with this. I am glad that the family the protagonists of Hunter Street genuinely love each other, but aren't the protagonists' parents adoptive? Also, if Hunter Street's main story is meant to be about kids finding their adoptive parents, then there seems to be solely one point in having a first season.

14 I Am Frankie

(EDIT)
I'm watching the premiere right now because this show is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. Even though it's the most unoriginal show of all time:
1. It's based off of Yo Soy Franky
2. It rips off My Life as a Teenage Robot
3. It uses the cliche New Girl At School plot.
But at least it's more watchable than Henry Danger.

I don't know why people dislike this so much...

Best film ever

15 Pinky Malinky

Penis Malinky has great animation, but I am very skeptical about this show. It heavily borrows from Cartoon Network's The Amazing World of Gumball. It is also a mockumentary. You also get Lucas Grabeel and Nathan Kress, whose voices are a bit grating/tweeny-sounding. Also, Nickelodeon (the company that brought us these disgusting Dan Schneider coms in the 2010s, Regal Academy, Planet Sheen, Fanboy & Chum-Chum, The Last Airbender movie, the later Fred Figglehorn franchise, Kids Coice Awards and etc) is making this. I think because of the phallic references, this might be a little too inappropriate for its target demographic. It also feels pretty typical. Either way, this could exceed expectations.

I know this show isn't out yet, but its coming on April 15. I know this seems similar to Gumball, but it looks really good. It also apparently promotes diversity, I watched a Nick Animation YouTube video and there were these ladies talking about the creation of the show, and one of them said she was proud to work on the show because one of the characters is a black mom, just like her.

16 Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn is an American television sitcom produced by Nickelodeon. The series focuses on 10-year-old, later 11-year-old quadruplets Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn Harper. They have nothing in common and often fight, but they must work together to solve everyday situations.

This show is terrible. I can tell whats gonna happen 1 minute into the episode, and what I predict really happens. Its that predictable.

I really like this show I don't no why so many people hate it!

This show is so corny and predictable.

17 School of Rock School of Rock is an American musical live-action sitcom which premiered March 12, 2016 on Nickelodeon. The series, based on the 2003 film of the same name, stars Breanna Yde, Ricardo Hurtado, Jade Pettyjohn, Lance Lim, Aidan Miner, Tony Cavalero, and Jama Williamson. On November 15, 2017, Nickelodeon announced that the third season will be the last season... read more

Good news everyone! Nickelodeon just cancelled this show along with Nicky Ricky Dicky and Dawn! New episodes will air through 2018, though. Thundermans is ending next year too. Now we just have to get rid of Henry Danger & Game Shakers, but that probably won't happen anytime soon.

I voted because Spongebob is from 1999. When I knew this is coming, I thought it's stupid and wasn't interested until inadventerly watching an episode. Than, I get it. THIS IS THE BEST 2017 SHOW!

Eh its not that bad but its not as good as spongebob and loud house.

18 Ride

It's not the greatest Nickelodeon show ever but it wasn't the worse either. I can't stand shows like Make It Pop, and this was way better than that. Even though the show shows teen rebellion and has some of the other problems as other Nickelodeon one-month series. Even so, the show was decent. Its second season aired in Canada, so maybe it will air soon here in the United States.

Ride on my butt.

Ride is brilliant

19 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

Unfortunately, no. As of 2017, the show has officially gotten eaten by a shark in its attempt to jump said shark after introducing far too many new characters in an attempt to keep The Fairly OddParents relevant. Now I admire Butch Hartman's work and all, but after the debut of Chloe, not only did it make the show EVEN WORSE than before in terms of quality as it took attention away from Timmy and his fairies to focus solely on Chloe more, but it also led to the show getting sent to Nicktoons, where it will most likely get cancelled since it will probably get low ratings as Nicktoons is essentially a dumping place for Nickelodeon animated series to die out.

I don't get the Poof/Foop/Chloe hate: none of them was actually bad. Sparky did it all.

At least anybody has ever heard of this one.

20 Victorious Victorious is an American sitcom created by Dan Schneider that originally aired on Nickelodeon from March 27, 2010 through February 2, 2013 . The series revolves around aspiring singer Tori Vega, a teenager who attends a performing arts high school called Hollywood Arts High School, after taking her older sister Trina's place in a showcase while getting into screwball situations on a daily and more... read more

Ariana Grande is terrible, even for a prissy-ass opinion-nazi. But Victorius does not exist, not even with reruns?

Just another boring show for teenagers... There's a laugh track after every sentence...

This ended in 2013 guys!

21 Rank the Prank

It makes Prank Stars look like a smart, promising show.

Are you kidding me?! The pranks are so cringy and lame and is an obvious rip-off of "Walk the Prank."

22 Motu Patlu

This is some Indian show...

What the heck is this

Get out of here show

23 Jojo Siwa My World

Welp, I have terrible news... it's official... Jojo Siwa DID end up like Sophia Grace and Rosie even more with this show and Nickelodeon in general! She was normally too hard to get over, since in the past she made a mean-spirited song against those that dislike her and called someone ugly (let's be thankful that that someone was Jacob Sartorius). 8O

I feel like this is going to be a good show. I am just wondering if Jojo Siwa is going to end up like Sofia Grace and Rosie. Sofia Grace and Rosie were really popular that starred in Nickelodeon and now you barely here from them anymore. I am just wondering if that's going to happen to Jojo Siwa.

I am just wondering if Jojo Siwa is going to end up like Sofia Grace and Rosie. Sofia Grace and Rosie were really popular and made songs just like Jojo, now you never here from them. They also starred on Nickelodeon. Now Jojo Siwa is doing to same thing...

24 Dragon Ball Z Kai
25 Bubble Guppies Bubble Guppies is an American-Canadian animated television series targeted at preschoolers, which premiered in 2011. Created by Jonny Belt and Robert Scull, the show takes place in an underwater classroom and educates children about various subjects through songs and sketches. With its colorful characters and interactive format, Bubble Guppies has become popular among young viewers. The show has received... read more

A very good show for young children, and something that is bearable to watch outside of the main demographic.

This show ended last year, but Nick Jr. is still airing reruns of it for some reason.
