Ozzy is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath. Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath more.

You don't have to recommend him to anyone because to tell you the truth, he had very little influence on the metal genre.

I liked him better in Black Sabbath.

Listen to the song solitude by Black Sabbath then you might change your mind - Sabbath

More of a vocaliusyt, he is more of than a sinhgrr - Lucretia

2 M Shadows

Not the most overrated but one of them

3 Corey Taylor Corey Taylor Corey Todd Taylor was born in December 8, 1973. He is an American musician, author, and actor best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the Nu-metal band Slipknot and hard rock/alternative metal band Stone Sour.

I'm not a fan of his vocal style. As if he's trying to act hard and tough. - IronSabbathPriest

Corey Taylor is one of few people on this list who deserves the attention and respect they receive. He's one of the best vocalists over the past 20 years.

They all try to act hard and tough. They all think they're Eddie Vedder, and they're not.

4 Fred Durst Fred Durst William Frederick "Fred" Durst is an American musician and film director. Durst is best known as the vocalist of the nu metal band Limp Bizkit, formed in 1994, with whom he has released six studio albums.

Not a metal singer. - IronSabbathPriest

More like a metal rapper.

Metal rapper is something impossible. Rappers have no business in metal. - Metal_Treasure

Ha ha, he is a rapper. not a metal vocalist. - zxm

5 James Hetfield James Hetfield James Alan Hetfield was born on August 3, 1963. He is an American musician, singer and songwriter known for being the co-founder, lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter for the American heavy metal band Metallica.

I think he's starting to get boring after all these years. Sorry but I'm starting to lose interest in him. - Mumbizz01

He is awesome - JolteonIsAwesome

"Yeah" - James Hetfield - Brobusky

He was good in the 80s and 90s. But ever since St. Anger his voice has just gotten boring and not that great to be honest. It lacks aggression. So he instead feels the need to include stupid "yeah yeahs" in his songs. - IronSabbathPriest

6 Dave Mustaine Dave Mustaine more.

He sounds weird in most of his songs.

Some songs he doesn't even sing in. He just talks. - Sabbath

He sounds like he's having a lisp in the chorus to Symphony of Destruction.

How is he overrated? Most people trash on his vocals, he is rarely praised as a vocalist. - LadyBanshee

7 Jonathan Davis Jonathan Davis Jonathan Howsmon Davis, also known as JD and JDevil, is an American musician best known as the leading vocalist and frontman of the nu metal band Korn.

What is Jonathan Davis doing here? are you people high?

I like him, because I love Korn - jack2244

8 Phil Anselmo Phil Anselmo Philip Hansen "Phil" Anselmo is an American musician who is best known as the former lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Pantera. He currently is the vocalist of heavy metal bands Down and Superjoint Ritual.

I get your point but I wouldn't compare him with Corey. Anselmo changed his singing style in order to sound like a tough guy and this was a matter of choice. But Anselmo can also sing in a different way and I will ever recommend the song 'Burnnn' from the 80s as a proof - Corey has never been able to sing like that. - Metal_Treasure

Not sure if this pathetic wannabe-tough-guy loser actually thinks he can sing, or if he's aware that he sucks and is just in it for the money. He basically got famous because the guitar guy in Pantera got shot

Phil Anselmo is a racist. He's only famous because he was in Pantera. Not a good vocalist

I love his vocals! - ryanrimmel

I don't think he sings metal so why pay attention to him. - Metal_Treasure

Yup. - Disasterpiece

10 David Draiman David Draiman David Michael Draiman is an American songwriter and the vocalist for the band Disturbed as well as for the band Device.

He has a good voice, but when he does those unnecessary "AH AH AHS" in the middle of verses it brings his music down. I like Disturbed though - ryanrimmel

The Contenders

11 Marilyn Manson Marilyn Manson Brian Hugh Warner, better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson, is an American musician, songwriter, actor, painter, multimedia artist, author, and former music journalist.

Not a metal singer.

Should be higher.

12 Mitch Lucker Mitch Lucker Mitchell Adam "Mitch" Lucker was an American musician and lead singer for the deathcore band Suicide Silence.

Compared to artists like Prince and Ray Charles (different genres but same principle), Mitch had made almost zero impact in the music industry, even after his untimely death. Not only did he have extremely limited vocal range, his lows were horrible unless he was cupping the mic, especially during live performances.

Definitely overrated nowadays by scene kids due to his death. His death was unfortunate, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a godawful vocalist with zero skill or technique.

Metalcore is the only bad type of metal I know about. - emilk

13 Benjamin Burnley Benjamin Burnley Benjamin Jackson Burnley IV is an American musician, composer, and producer, best known as the founder and frontman of the American rock band Breaking Benjamin.

Go see him at #5 on the list "Top Metal Singers". His singing style isn't even metal. By the way, do you think he sings metal? I don't. That's called overrated. - Metal_Treasure

14 Alexi Laiho Alexi Laiho

I like Children of Bodom, but I'm not a fan of the monotone vocals of melodic death metal bands. Either sing properly or if you're going to growl, growl with some aggressive music. Enough said. - IronSabbathPriest

15 Zack De La Rocha Zack De La Rocha Zacharias Manuel "Zack" de la Rocha (born January 12, 1970) is an American musician, poet, rapper, and activist best known as the vocalist and lyricist of rap metal band Rage Against the Machine from 1991–2000, and after the band's reunion in 2007 until their last show in 2011. Yeah... I don't really like mainstream nu metal. - IronSabbathPriest

Rage Against the Machine isn't nu-metal though... they're alternative metal

He isn't a metal singer. Never been. - Metal_Treasure

18 Dani Filth Dani Filth
