I love Charizard. No, he's not the best Pokémon, but he's still very good. Very weak to rock types, but can also take down Grass, Steel, Bug, Ice, Fighting, Dragon (with Dragon Claw) and Poison, and Electric (with Earthquake) types with relative ease. His move pool hasn't always been great but has gotten significantly better over the years. He has access to two great mega evolutions. Finally, and probably the main overall reason for his popularity, he was the first Pokémon for many players such as myself. And also, he just looks awesome.
Charizard is the most iconic Pokémon, screw Pikachu, Pikachu sucks. Charizard is a boss. Super strong, and he can fly. The only one that can compete with him is Blastoise.

People complain Mewtwo is too violent. How about I murder your best friend in front of you, introduce you to the fact that you, to the people who created you, are nothing but an experiment, a disposable tool, befriend you under false circumstances, then betray you and try to use you as a slave. I'd like to see just how even-tempered you are then.

Mewtwo is considered a Pokemon, even though he was a scientific experiment clone of Mew. Mew is not nearly as strong as Mewtwo. If they both fought to the death, Mewtwo would have had a hard fight but come out victorious. He, like Arceus, can copy any technique.

Pikachu is the face of Pokemon. Without him, it wouldn't be nearly as popular. Not in Japan, and by extension, not here. There are stronger Pokemon. There are cuter Pokemon. But when you think of Pokemon, the first thing that pops into your head, after a picture of the Pokeball, is this hyper little fella. He's still my favorite character in the anime.

Arceus is a legendary Pokémon from the Pokémon series. It first appeared in the 18th Pokémon movie alongside other Legendary Pokémon. In the Pokémon universe, Arceus is widely known as "The Original One", as it's believed to be the creator of the entire pokemon universe. According to mythology, Arceus is said to emerge from an egg that existed before the universe. Lo, the forsaken, the God of Pokemon. Arceus's limitless power is far greater than these pathetic attempts at greatness. Remember - while humans have created Pokemon, it was only because Arceus wished it. Arceus is the reason we humans and Pokemon are here in the first place. Each blade of grass in the wind, every stone upturned, and every Pokeball thrown was by Arceus's grand design. I would advise you not to trifle with the God of Pokemon.

He created all Pokemon (except Mewtwo) and both Pokemon Trios: the Creation Trio (Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina) as well as the Weather Trio (Rayquaza, Kyogre, and Groudon). He can also change his type. He has more than 1,000 forms, and he can copy any technique using Judgement.
Why isn't Arceus first? It's the creator! Duh! I mean, seriously! What the heck?! It needs to be first! Why?! Arceus is most definitely the top and best of the best!
Mew is a Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon created by Nintendo's and Game Freak's Pokémon media franchise. Designed by Satoshi Tajiri, it was introduced in Pokémon Red and Blue. Mew is capable of learning every move in the games (except signature moves of certain Pokémon), and can shapeshift into other Pokémon species. Technically, Mew and Arceus are possibly the first two Pokemon in existence. Arceus did create the Pokemon world. However, Mew has the DNA of all Pokemon, and in the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Pokedex, it is stated that it is possibly the ancestor of all Pokemon. This also suggests that it could have played a role in creating all Pokemon, alongside Arceus, due to its ability to transform and use any move in the games, with the exceptions of Draco Meteor and Secret Sword. In the actual world, however, it may be possible for it to use every move we know of today.
This cute beast has always been close to my heart. I never found a Mew in the original games but I wanted a shiny of it from the original to GSC and on the first try, got the correct IV. I am sad I still cannot transfer it to other games.
According to Pokémon Database, Mew has 100 base friendliness and is super strong. Well, Mew is just great then. It is strong, cute, friendly and would fit perfectly as a partner!

The best legend out there. Cool as hell and got the best mega. Great lore and so much more. My mind blew as a kid when playing Emerald, learning I could get a level 70 legendary before the Elite 4.

However, I always feel bad for evolving it because it looks so cute, and I can never decide if I made the right evolution choice! "Just catch another one," that's what people may think or say, but it's still hard to decide! I know Eevee is mostly popular for its many evolutions, but Eevee itself is still very special, evolved or not.
Eevee is the BEST Pokémon. There's no way to say it's not. She's adorable! You may be thinking, "Oh, she's not strong," but she can evolve into almost any type you want! Isn't that enough for you? I can't believe she's this far down the list!
Eevee is a really cool Pokémon that can evolve into different Pokémon depending on your strategy. For example, if you need a Psychic type to beat your friend, evolve it into Espeon!

DarkLord is right. Lucario shouldn't be way down here. Legendaries are rare and powerful. (Noobs.) Has anyone ever heard of training? He can crush Arceus. Aura doesn't have a type, therefore aura can kill him. He battles Mewtwo a lot. (Wow, unfair - a legendary vs non-legendary.) And guess who wins... Lucario.
Lucario kicks butt and a lot of the things you would think Fighting and Steel types would be bad against, Lucario isn't, including his mega evolution. Lucario is truly a beast.
Lugia, known in Japan as ルギア (Rugia), is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. First introduced in Generation II, it's the mascot of the game Pokémon Silver. It serves as the master of the legendary birds trio, and is part of the tower tuo along with Ho-Oh. Anyone who believes in Christianity definitely would love the Tower Duo, which is Lugia and Ho-Oh. Lugia creating 40-day storms represents the 40-day storm that happened during Noah's time, and Ho-Oh represents the rainbow after. Amazing Pokémon!
Lugia stays underwater most of the time because he is so powerful. It is said that an offensive flap of his wings can cause a hurricane that may last for 40 days. Not to mention, he is one of the most beautiful Pokémon around.
He is powerful, but you don't know one thing: it isn't a Water/Flying type. It's actually a Psychic/Flying type. Aren't you surprised? Well, I don't think so because the one who has caught Lugia in FRLG (Fire Red/Leaf Green) knows this. For those of you who don't know how to catch Lugia and Ho-Oh in FRLG, you can catch them by using a cheat code. I don't know it, but you can get it by typing "Pokemon FRLG Navel Rock cheats" in Google. Good luck catching them!
Greninja is a Water/Dark type Pokemon introduced in Gen 6. It is the evolved form of Frogadier and the final evolved form of the water starter Froakie. I don't know what made me absolutely obsessed with Greninja, but it happened, and now it's my favorite.
He's super strong and has a lot of agility and can be one of the most loyal Pokemon.
Dragonite, known in Japan as Kairyu, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Dragonite is a great Pokemon. It has the second highest base stat total of all non-legendary Pokemon, second only to Slaking. However, considering Slaking's terrible ability, Truant, which doesn't allow him to attack twice in a row, Dragonite can safely be considered the better Pokemon. Dragonite boasts an excellent move pool, including attacks such as Dragon Dance, Outrage, Thunder, Earthquake, Surf, Fire Blast, Aerial Ace, Focus Blast, and Rock Slide, accessible via TM and leveling. Through tutoring and egg moves, it can learn Ominous Wind, Draco Meteor, Aqua Tail, Heat Wave, Iron Head, Superpower, and Dragon Rush. Pretty amazing.
The absolute best non-legendary. With the right moveset, he can take down any Pokémon except Ice and certain Dragons! A must-have for a powerful team!
Dragonite is the best. Apart from the 12 legendary Pokémon ahead of him, his base stats are higher than all (but one: Slaking. Really? Slaking?) other Pokémon (beating out several other legendaries as well).
I really have no words for Primarina. Sure, Popplio and Brionne are underrated just because their noses apparently make them look like clowns. However, their noses will not blunt my love for this line. Even though Primarina is slow, it more than makes up for that in the Alola games.
Seal fairy? Mermaid angel? Pokémon beauty? Primarina is just too beautiful to ignore. Though for starters, Rowlet is so much cuter than Popplio, it evolves into Decidueye, which isn't very nice-looking. That's why I'd choose Popplio as a starter.
Blastoise, known in Japan as Kamex, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Great Pokémon. May not have the best-designed mega, and is definitely not in the top 20 most powerful Pokémon. But in my opinion, he is the best. At least I don't excessively hype Charizard like a nostalgia-blinded fanboy.
I think that Blastoise should be #6 because he is strong, powerful, slick, and really good at defense. Overall, he is a great Pokemon.
My favorite starter was always Squirtle, but I like Blastoise better. Strong, Mega, and can destroy steel with ease. Look it up.
Darkrai, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. I love Darkrai. He's the only Pokemon who can give bad dreams, and he has a great movepool like Double Team, Nasty Plot, Dream Eater, Dark Pulse, Quick Attack, and Nightmare. But the main reason I love Darkrai is because of his role in the anime. In the 10th movie, The Rise of Darkrai, he was considered evil by everyone in Alamos Town. Earlier in time, Darkrai suffered from injuries, probably caused by Pokemon who thought he was a threat. So, Alice's grandmother saw what happened and helped the poor thing.
When Dialga and Palkia started brawling near Alamos Town, the entire elements of space and time were starting to evaporate. Darkrai decided to save Alamos Town and his only friend. He guarded the town with his life by trying to stop Dialga and Palkia from ruining everything. Initially, Dialga and Palkia were fighting each other, but later in the fight, they started fighting together. Darkrai still fought on. However, he was destroyed when Roar of Time and Spacial Rend both hit him. He sacrificed himself to save the universe.
He is the definitive proof that Pokemon can have feelings, integrity, and even a human spirit. That's why Darkrai is my favorite. It's not because he's a Legendary. It's because he's a hero. He's my hero.
Gengar, known in Japan by the same name, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. I've got to admit, I want it to be the best Pokemon ever for everyone, but I get why it won't be. But if I were to choose the top ten, it would be my favorite.
Gengar is so underrated, he is awesome! He shoots shadow balls, has an evil grin, and is just like a purple porcupine!
Mischievous shadow ghost that'll also shove three shots of poison down your throat, what more is there to say?
Squirtle, known as Zenigame in Japan, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. It was originally conceived by Game Freak's character development team and finalized by Chaniah Pantry. It is a squirrel-turtle hybrid. It is a starter Pokémon and evolves into Wartortle which evolves into Blastoise. Squirtle is just so cute and reminds me of my pet terrapin!

Snorlax, known in Japan as Kabigon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Charizard? Seriously? You're kidding me! He's one of the weakest starters out there. Charizard gets a free pass for #1 just because of nostalgia? What about Snorlax? I don't see Genwunners worshipping this guy. He deserves it - he can actually be used in battle and take some hits. High HP, Attack, and Sp. Defense. He doesn't need Sp. Attack, HP makes up for Defense, and low Speed - what were you expecting?
Snorlax has charm, in my opinion, because of how funny he is and his concept of living a life only eating a lot and sleeping for a long time. Snorlax has only one weakness, and he has strength to spare. So could somebody tell me what Charizard is so good for? I've never played Red and Blue, and I already think Snorlax is amazing. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to deal with a mob of immature Genwunners outside my front door, so... See ya.
Snorlax is epic. He can beat Pokemon up to 15 levels higher than him because of his high HP, attack, and defense. Opponent still too strong? Just use Yawn. They fall asleep, and you get free hits for 2-6 turns. I used to underestimate normal-type Pokemon, but Snorlax makes normal types seem strong.
Celebi, known in Japan as the same name, is a Mythical Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. It's an onion fairy - what's not to love?

Typhlosion, known in Japan as Bakphoon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Typhlosion. Introduced in Gold/Silver. One of my favorite starters. This guy didn't need a secondary type. He was just a powerhouse. He can learn a lot of moves. So many movesets are unexplainable. In HeartGold or SoulSilver, choose the right path by picking Cyndaquil!
Unfortunately, it has the same stats as Charizard, but I think its movepool is better and I would much rather have this.

Palkia, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Palkia controls space as number two of the Creation Trio. He can create rifts in time and basically teleport himself or other Pokémon to his desired location.
He is a tremendous legendary who has water as a type and to me, that is just amazing.

Sceptile, known in Japan as Jukain, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Best Pokemon ever. Not only is he super kick-ass, but he also loves nature and is chill. I could vibe with this boy all day. I LOVE SCEPTILE!

Umbreon, known in Japan as Blacky, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. I love Umbreon! He's so awesome! True, it is outclassed by Espeon in the offense department, but it is a great supporter! Vote for Umbreon!
Umbreon is only the BEST Eevee evolution! He's powerful, and at the same time, adorable... hands down, my favorite!

Gallade, known in Japan as Erureido, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Gallade and Lucario see the other Pokemon as the most loyal and respectable. It's a mutual admiration.

I like Dialga because he was the first legendary I captured in Diamond, and he has Roar of Time.

Charmander, known as Hitokage in Japan, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise introduced in the games Pokemon Red and Blue. Available in Pokemon Red, Green, Blue, FireRed, and LeafGreen, this Pokémon is a fire type starter Pokémon. It evolves into Charmeleon at level 16, which evolves into Charizard at level 36. He's such a cutie and evolves into a beast!
