Top 10 Best Legendary Pokemon
The top ten list of the Pokemon series' legendaries.Mewtwo can beat any Pokémon. As explained in the first movie, he can create a hurricane that can destroy the planet. He possesses very high intelligence. Hence, he was able to rebuild the laboratory with no experience in that subject.
He can block a Pokémon's special ability, which would eliminate a few Pokémon right off the bat, including a so-called creator of the universe. He can control the minds of both people and Pokémon. He took control of Nurse Joy for a few weeks.
His speed is the second-fastest of all the legendary Pokémon, meaning he would likely attack first in most cases. He can learn a vast array of moves, which gives him great coverage. He can create a barrier around himself that reflects all kinds of attacks, as seen in the first movie. In the Pokémon special, he was able to transport an entire lake and a mountain with no difficulty. In the first movie, he was able to erase people's memories of him. Furthermore, he was able to destroy an entire island and Team Rocket's headquarters using barely any of his power.
Regarding Arceus, considered to be the god of Pokémon, his abilities seem limited. After being hit by electric attacks when he was betrayed, it took him over a thousand years to recover, whereas Mewtwo can recover right away. When Arceus was betrayed and went into a rage, he couldn't even destroy the temple. When he was trapped in the silver water, even though he didn't have the plates to defend against it, one would think he would have had the attacks to break free. Is this the so-called god of Pokémon? Moreover, he doesn't appear that intelligent. When he was betrayed, he couldn't discern that the Jewel of Life, a part of him, was a fake.
For those who argue that Mewtwo is equal to Mew because of the first movie, it's important to note that Mewtwo and Mew were merely testing out each other's powers. That's the whole reason they were in their barriers the whole time. The real confrontation only started at... more
Rayquaza is the protector of the Earth. Therefore, anything on Earth has to be weaker than him. Otherwise, why would they need his protection? Sure, he's not smart like Mewtwo, and he's not the creator like Arceus, but the fact that he's just a raw, wreck-kind-of guy makes up for all of that. Anything that comes through his ozone layer is destroyed instantly.
Just look at Destiny Deoxys, the movie. Within the first ten minutes of the movie, he disintegrates half of Deoxys' body and then just completely kills him. What else is there to say? He's a rocket dragon that can defend the Earth.
The first time I saw Lugia from Alpha Sapphire on Serebii.net, I thought he looked cool. I was sad that, since I owned Omega Ruby only at the time, I could only get Ho-Oh and not Lugia. Lugia became my favorite legendary and favorite Pokemon in the long shot when I got Alpha Sapphire and captured him at Sea Mauville in the underwater engine room. Lugia is, no doubt, awesome.
He may have done some bad stuff, but after all that, he hid himself underwater so he could not harm any more Pokemon or humans. Lugia could beat Ho-Oh by using any high-power water move like Hydro Pump. Besides, Lugia has a better and cuter design than Ho-Oh. If you don't believe me, go look up the little Lugia from the show or anime called Silver. In fact, I am ordering a rare, tall Lugia plush soon.
Hey, Giratina is the only ghost dragon out there. Mewtwo is WAY TOO OVERRATED, and Rayquaza is very overrated. This makes me dislike Mewtwo and somehow also dislike Rayquaza. Sure, Giratina was a god Pokémon - Antimatter! Antimatter wins over humans, time, and space. Giratina doesn't need to breathe because he can breathe in the toxic clouds in the Reverse World. As shown in the movie, he almost killed Dialga and almost ate Shaymin.
Later, in Arceus and the Jewel Of Life, he is very nice. When he saw Ash, he remembered the good times and calmed down, and he never attacked Dialga again. In Pokémon Generations, he even saved Dialga and Palkia from destroying the world and creating a new one. Arceus didn't even know where Giratina was until Giratina teleported right behind him using Shadow Force. So, oh, come on. Why is Giratina number 4 if this awesome ghost Pokémon is that powerful?
Dialga was the first legendary I ever got, and I can always depend on him, along with my Empoleon, to do the job at the Elite Four. Even with Cut and Rock Smash, it is good because I kept Roar of Time and gave him Flash Cannon. Its defense is amazing and, being a steel-dragon type, it resists almost every type of move.
The steel balances out the weaknesses that dragon has (for the most part), and the dragon typing also balances out most of the steel weaknesses. It also has amazing all-around stats and can take a hit from even Mewtwo. I believe that Dialga should be at least in the top five.
Ho-Oh is a phoenix. He can easily beat Lugia with Sacred Fire. His special defense is his best stat, and Sacred Fire has a one in two chance to cause a burn. Burn decreases attack, so the opponent will have to rely on special attacks, and he has high special defense.
So he is quite good. He is always better than Lugia, and he looks better.
Ho-Oh is the best Fire-Type legendary ever. His Sacred Fire is his special move and can beat Lugia any day in a battle. Fire-type is the most effective, in my opinion, because it is stronger than so many Pokemon.
Another fun fact: Suicune, Entei, and Raikou were created from Ho-oh. They were created to serve him when they were battling something evil. After that, they split up, but the three Johto legendaries still serve their lord Ho-Oh. It's in the actual Pokemon books.
Anyway, Ho-Oh should be in Lugia's place because Ho-Oh is a much better Pokemon!
Kyurem has two forms of all legends! Black and White Kyurem were one of Nintendo's best works. I don't care what those detractors say about his forms having "too much detail." I mean, I side with White Kyurem due to only four different weaknesses - well, five technically, thanks to the lame Fairy type Pokemon!
So his weaknesses are Fighting, Ice, Rock, Steel, and now "Fairy"? I mean, really, Nintendo? Dragons had already suffered enough. Why make them suffer more?
Normal Kyurem: Meh overall. Really inadequate stats for a legendary, though. 600? Others have like 680!
Black Kyurem: I don't like Zekrom much, so I don't really like this guy either. He's got these big, dumb gorilla arms, a bee butt tail, and some other flaws. 4/10.
White Kyurem: NOW we're talking! Awesome, epic, not overdesigned like Black Kyurem, and since it's part Reshiram (and he's awesome), White Kyurem is too! 10/10.
Primal Groudon is considered a god in the competitive sphere. It has only one weakness and has access to amazing coverage moves, even moves that could allow it to defeat Primal Kyogre and/or Mega Rayquaza. Primal Groudon is so exceptional that it is the only Pokémon to be banned from the competitive group where you hack (hackmons). Let that sink in. Being banned from a hacking format illustrates just how broken Primal Groudon is. It is a must-have on most Uber-Tier teams out there. Overall, it is one of the best, if not the best, competitive Pokémon out there. It definitely deserves to be in the top 5.
Palkia has the potential to destroy the entire dimension that houses our heroes and causes massive destruction when it battles with its time-controlling enemy Dialga. Worshiped as a deity, it is tied with its Creation Trio counterparts, Dialga and Giratina, as the second most powerful Pokemon in the entire universe, behind Arceus, due to its massive spatial powers.
Palkia reigns over entire populated pocket dimensions, which he builds and destroys within his own dimension.
Palkia is my favorite legendary ever. He may not be as strong as Arceus, nor is he as memorable as Mew and Mewtwo. He isn't as popular as Rayquaza or Lugia, but he is still one of the best out there anyways. He only has a single weakness, unlike Giratina and Dialga, and his signature move, Spacial Rend, though not as powerful as Roar of Time, doesn't leave him open for a turn, making it a more convenient attack to use.
Even though Palkia isn't as defensive, it just feels like you can get a lot done with Palkia. In Ubers, Palkia has always been my star for some reason. I love Palkia.
Electric and Dragon are the best two types in the game.
Electric has one weakness, ground, and can destroy flying and water types.
Dragon can resist water, fire, grass, and electric, covering all the starter types and the number one best type in the game. Dragon is weak to Fairy (darn Jigglypuff), Ice, and Dragon. Since Zekrom is a legendary, it has amazing speed and can destroy a Dragon before the opponent can even attack.
Zekrom looks awesome, has a really good move pool, and combines the best types in the game. Definitely the best legendary Pokemon!
How is it that Yveltal is not up there? It's a powerful Pokémon to begin with. Starting with Bulbapedia facts, this Pokémon's wingspan is bigger than Lugia's. It's the second largest legend! Also, in its Pokédex entry, it takes life. It's like the Hades of Pokémon! Plus, the overall design of the Pokémon is just intimidating by all means.
Now to its typing and special move. Honestly, I think Ghost Flying would work much better based on the description of it. That's just my opinion. Now, the move Oblivion Wing is like the flying type Giga Drain! It's awesome! Not to mention it can learn Psychic, Dragon Pulse, and, I believe, Ice Beam. And for all you Lugia fans, you're probably going to hate me for saying this, but I think Yveltal can kick Lugia's butt any time of the week.
Only number 22? Reshiram has a fantastic special attack stat and learns moves appropriate for its amazing Special Attack. It transforms into another Pokemon, and when it emerges from the Light Stone, you can just look at it like it's a god!
And for all of you who didn't know, Zoroark is NOT a legendary!
It has its own game, Pokémon White. Unlike others, it has a good signature move, Fusion Flare, and it has a dangerous move set. This should be in the top 8. Arceus, Mewtwo, Mew, Deoxys, Zekrom, Reshiram, Rayquaza, Darkrai, Genesect, Kyogre, Lugia, Groudon, Ho-Oh, Giratina, Dialga, and Palkia.
Kyogre is really cheap because of his combination of Water Spout and Drizzle. What really makes him cheap is the Choice Scarf. Water Spout is his best move, but Thunder is really good too because it never misses. I also teach him Sheer Cold and Ice Beam.
The guy who taught him Calm Mind was an idiot because, with my strategy, you can usually one-shot any Pokémon. Kyogre was actually the first legendary Pokémon I ever caught.
I was two years old when the 3rd gen came out. But I was still watching Pokémon. Anyway, Kyogre is A BOSS when it comes to battling. It can defeat any legendary Pokémon with ease. Also, Kyogre saved a Manaphy. SO CUTE!
Finally, Kyogre is my favorite legendary Pokémon because it is my favorite type, animal, and Pokémon design!
Awesome way to show off 6th gen Pokemon. Three-fourths of my wins have been sweeps by Xerneas. It can learn good moves. For example, right now the moves I have taught it are Moonblast (a really good Fairy type move to have), Horn Leech (which can be helpful in situations), Giga Impact (a really good normal type move to learn along with Hyper Beam), and the one electric type move that paralyzes.
Someone remind me what it is called.
I love using Xerneas because it just kicks butt. In my opinion, it is way better than Yveltal and Zygarde because it can basically kill them in one shot. Its only weaknesses are Poison and Steel, and it can cover those with Close Combat/Focus Blast and Psychic.
Could use better speed though… And a better move than Geomancy…
My favorite Pokémon trio is by far the Legendary Dogs. The ideas behind them are amazing. It was difficult to pick just one of the dogs, but I chose Entei as he is seen as the leader. Please vote for Entei, Raikou, or Suicune!
Have you ever noticed that Entei is like a super buff Flareon, Raikou is an overpowered Jolteon, and Suicune is an awesome Vaporeon? It gets you thinking that maybe the Legendary Dogs came from Eevees.
Entei is one of the strongest because he can create dream worlds and almost killed a Pokémon, which I am not happy about.
Yep, my favorite legendary is Articuno, and it's also the second legendary I ever caught.
The first one I caught was Zapdos.
Now, I know about Stealth Rocks. They ruin everything. But they don't affect Pokemon like Volcarona and Talonflame in the same way.
Most of you will probably recommend the Mind Reader plus Sheer Cold sets. Well, I don't use that set. I use a more defensive set: Ice Beam/Roost/Hurricane/Protect. It's not a bad set. And if you don't like that, Hail with Snow Cloak might be your style.
Its ability is Pressure, which, in the long run, is annoying, especially when your opponent is using 5PP moves like Fire Blast. And Articuno can take a hit. With 105/125 on Defense/Special Defense, it's great, and its HP is 90, so it's fine there as well.
Also, thanks to Hurricane, it finally has a special Flying-type move. So don't worry about that area. It also has Ancient Power and Water Pulse if you want more unique attacking moves.
Is Articuno the best legendary ever? No, it isn't, but it's my favorite. Unlike Mega Mewtwo and Rayquaza, this Pokemon is vulnerable, reminding us that it has weaknesses, while those other overpowered legendaries exist. My favorite Pokemon mostly consist of finding a diamond where no one looks and being patient with my Pokemon. Articuno is one of them, because everyone prefers Zapdos, and everyone loves Rayquaza, Mewtwo, Deoxys, whatever. But I like this Pokemon the most because it's one of the few legendaries that actually requires effort to be good, not just being overpowered right off the bat. And to me, it feels more rewarding when you finally have something great. Otherwise, what effort did you put in at all?
Suicune is one of the strongest land Pokemon ever. Its special defense and defense can back it up in a battle against others. Even back then, when Suicune was in Crystal version, it was the strongest in that game. It's not only strong defensively but beautiful too.
Ash: Pikachu, let's find a legendary.
Pikachu: Pika Pi!
A wild Suicune appeared.
Ash: Oh great! My first legendary! Once I catch this Pokemon, I'll finally beat Gary! OK, Pikachu, Thunder Bolt!
Pikachu: Pika-chu!
Suicune dodged it. Then it used Bubble Beam.
Ash: DODGE IT! Use Discharge!
Pikachu: Pika!
Suicune hit back with Bubble Beam, then it used Toxic and poisoned Pikachu. Ash didn't have any potions, and then Pikachu was defeated.
Ash: NOOO!
Ash ran to the Pokemon Center to get Pikachu fixed. Nurse Joy healed him, and after that, they went back to the place where they battled Suicune. But Suicune must have run off, meaning that they were never to see Suicune again.
My first legendary sweeps through the rest of Let's Go Eevee. Still incredibly useful even now that I'm champion.
I don't need to write a paragraph about this guy. I just like him and his type.
It cannot be attacked by ground-type moves.
Shoot, it's Lunar Lady! Wait, I brought my Magnezone. Hmm… Well, I have a Lightning Bolt for you!
I got Moon because Lunala is awesome. I beat up dark types with this beast.
My personal favorite. This was my legendary in my first-ever Pokemon playthrough in Moon. Nebby is my baby.
Moltres has really good stats. It may need a bit of help against Articuno, but it also has some really epic moves. Use Fire Blast, and you'll see what I mean. In my opinion, the three Legendary Birds are the best legendaries ever.
Dude, it looks like those squawking chickens that caught on fire. Of course, it's my favorite Legendary!
I like Team Valor, and Moltres is a fire bird. How are Zapdos and Articuno better?
Dear thetoptens.com,
Zygarde should be in second place because he has the power of both Xerneas and Yveltal. He can protect the whole Pokémon world from destruction with his power. I'm saying he's male because all the Kalos main legendaries are male (Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde). I know everything about Pokémon because I'm the best Pokémon trainer in the universe.
Sincerely,
Anonymous.
Zygarde is the most powerful Pokémon in Pokémon history. Why is he here? He's the greatest. He's the best. He is twice the Pokémon Mewtwo is!
It is in the OU tier, and Suicune and Entei are in the UU tier. That should tell you something on its own. I really hate how overrated Entei is. I wish that people voting would actually be playing competitively, or at least knew what they were talking about. And don't even get me started on Charizard...
This is one of the fastest land Pokémon ever. Very strong and an excellent hunter. By the way, you might have missed it, but the last mystery gift on Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver was a shiny Raikou. Have a look and see if it is still available.
I just love Latias. It's cute and my favorite legendary, as well as Latios! It has an awesome type combination of Dragon/Psychic, pretty sick moves, and I love how Latias can turn invisible.
How the hell did one of the best Pokemon in the Pokemon universe end up here? Latias is amazing and a really cute Pokemon, but it seems you don't know what good Pokemon are.
Latias is my favorite Pokemon! It should be first. Those eyes are irresistible!
When you battle Groudon in Omega Ruby, send out Latios because you are resistant to fire and have Levitate, so ground moves won't affect you. It also resists water, unlike Latias in Alpha Sapphire.
It was so sad how that Latios died in Pokémon Heroes because of Annie and Oakley. Call me a wimp, but I watched when I was a little kid and I cried.
Years later, I end up with an Eon Ticket, and it takes me to Southern Island again so I can catch Latios. The Eon duo is again reunited.
Latios is the coolest Pokémon ever! It has high attack, and it's a Psychic Dragon Pokémon, two of the strongest types in Pokémon. It is blue and looks so cool. It should be much higher on the list!
