Reasons Why The Godfather Part II is Better than Part I
Both are classic, iconic movies which are both regarded as two of the best but for some Part II has the edge over the first.Eh. I've seen all 3. The first is universally regarded as one of the best movies of all time. The second is considered one of the best sequels of all time, but it doesn't match up to the original. It just doesn't.
The movie has more dramatic and unbelievable scenes than its prequel and has a darker tone and feel to it.
We see a young Vito Corleone, played by De Niro, and we see how he first became involved with the Cosa Nostra.
This is actually a problem on the film, as the Vito scenes are so endearing as so much more interesting, with even bigger stakes than Michael's actual character arc, which is supposed to be more important since its his first time leading on his own film, we're supposed to be more drawn towards him, not his father
One of the biggest differences between the films. During these scenes we see the dark childhood of Vito, his move to America and how he becomes involved with the mafia.
The Godfather II is a masterpiece but is not better than The Godfather I...at all
YES, I absolutely love the flashback scenes.
The intenseness of the film keeps the viewer on edge throughout almost the entirety of the film.
The movie shows Don Vito's rise to power while at the same time showing the downfall of Michael.
The Corleone family goes to war with themselves.
Really hard to watch this movie
Once Michael finds out that his wife had abortion with his child this has a huge impact on him and causes "the loss of his soul".
While the first wasn't all that predictable Part II has twists and scenes which are completely unpredictable.
What an outstanding, talent De Niro is. I've gotta say this had to have been one of his toughest roles having to speak Italian for most of his part
De Niro plays a young Vito Corleone, who was played by Marlon Brando in the first film.
