The Top Ten
1 McDonald's McDonald's is an American fast food company, founded in 1940 as a restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald, in San Bernardino, California, United States. They rechristened their business as a hamburger stand. The first time a McDonald's franchise used the Golden Arches logo was in 1953 at a location in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1955, Ray Kroc, a businessman, joined the company as a franchise... read more

By far the best. The food is filling and luxurious. It doesn't make you feel like it's actually fast food because the quality is so good. Great value for money too.

KFC should be higher up on this list. It's probably my second favorite because it has great food.

Subway is great also because it's fast food with a healthier spin to it. One thing I must say is that it's highly known for being the cause of food poisoning from their meats.

Pizza Hut shouldn't be on this list. The value for money and service is terrible. The pizzas aren't even that great. Domino's, on the other hand, has much better pizzas, better service, and much better value for money.

McDonald's is clearly number one. I don't want to hear another person say that McDonald's is bad. If you don't have taste buds, that's not my problem. If you think BK is better than McDonald's, then you're sorely mistaken. Anything on BK's menu is easily outdone by McDonald's. No matter what anyone says, McDonald's rightfully sits at the top of the fast food chain. If you're a health-conscious person who thinks McDonald's is bad for you, just realize that no one walks into a fast food restaurant looking for something healthy. They're a fast food joint that sells burgers and fries.

2 Subway Subway is a privately held American fast food restaurant franchise that primarily purveys submarine sandwiches (subs) and salads. Subway is one of the fastest-growing franchises in the worldand, as of June 2017, has approximately 45,000 stores located in more than 100 countries. More than half of the stores are located in the United States. It is the largest single-brand restaurant chain and the largest... read more

How is McDonald's ranked higher than Subway? Subway is both delicious and healthy! I absolutely adore Subway. The food is consistently fresh, their cookies are delightful, and their fountain drinks are enjoyable. Plus, let's be real, you have the freedom to essentially create your own meal. You have the power to decide what toppings go on your sub, what type of bread to use - what more could you want? Even if you're not a fan of vegetables, you can still pick your favorite veggies, meat, cheese, and bread to create something truly enjoyable. This place is a thousand times superior to McDonald's. McDonald's simply clogs your arteries.

Yummy and vegetarian, unlike *cough cough in disgust* McDonald's... I don't even know how people STAND that place. Once, when I got a Happy Meal there, the chicken tasted like rubber, and the toy was a tiny dog that looked like it was choking because of its collar.

Three years later, I ate burnt chicken at a Thanksgiving party to be polite.

I am proud to say that I have never eaten another chicken, Turkey, cow, pig, or any other kind of animal since.

Subway RULES!

3 Wendy's Wendy's is an American international fast food restaurant chain founded by Dave Thomas on November 15, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. The company moved its headquarters to Dublin, Ohio, on January 29, 2006. As of 2016, Wendy's was the world's third largest hamburger fast food chain with 6,500+ locations, following Burger King and McDonald's. On April 24, 2008, the company announced a merger with Triarc... read more

Ten years ago, they were pretty good. Then, three years ago, they were terrible and disgusting. Now they have terrible ratings and a bad reputation. However, they have recently gone fresh, and it shows. You know how in commercials the food looks amazing, but when you get it, it's disappointing? Wendy's has improved significantly. What you see in the commercial is what you actually get. The food is juicy, not greasy, and it's made to order.

They have truly improved, I assure you. I ordered the 1/2 pound hamburger because I'm in good health. The lettuce was taken straight off a head of lettuce, the tomatoes were fresh, and although I can't speak for the cheese, the meat was steaming, juicy, and not at all greasy. I felt fine for the rest of the day.

The fries aren't that great, but that's because they aren't soaked in grease like, for instance, McDonald's. Pardon me. I had something in my throat. Anyway, the fries were made to order, and I could tell because they were hot and still had the potato skin on them. They may not be great, but they're healthier and not soaked in grease. The meat was also hot and, yes, fresh.

But the most important thing is that you don't feel bad for the rest of the day. Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but you get more than what you pay for, and the place is much cleaner. If you give it a try, I guarantee you will be satisfied. I also promise that the food looks just like it does in the commercials. By the way, I ate at Wendy's in Lubbock, Texas.

4 Burger King Burger King (BK) is an American global chain of hamburger fast food restaurants. Headquartered in the unincorporated area of Miami-Dade County, Florida, the company was founded in 1953 as InstaBurger King, a Jacksonville, Florida-based restaurant chain. After Insta-Burger King ran into financial difficulties in 1954, its two Miami-based franchisees David Edgerton and James McLamore purchased the company... read more

Burger King is the king of burgers. Like the person below, I could not agree more. BK's French fries are delicious, and the burgers taste like a burger should: grilled! I cannot believe how McDonald's has been voted higher. Although I guess everything depends on the staff that works in the kitchen. If they like their job, the burgers are usually made with care and taste excellent, as they should always taste. I've been to more McDonald's restaurants than Burger King's, where the burgers really didn't taste good at all. Everything was compressed, like some binder full of papers. No heart and soul put into the cooking procedure makes the food taste not good at all. Long live the king!

Course McDonald's is great, but Burger King's food is much better and of higher quality. The fries are far superior at Burger King, and the chicken is unbelievably better. When you compare Burger King's Chicken Royale to McDonald's McChicken Sandwich, the Chicken Royale is significantly better. However, Burger King is more expensive here in Britain, but nevertheless, it's worth the extra few pounds.

5 Taco Bell Taco Bell is an American chain of fast food restaurants based out of Irvine, California and a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc. The restaurants serve a variety of Tex-Mex foods that include tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, novelty and specialty items, and a variety of "value menu" items. As of 2018, Taco Bell serves more than 2 billion customers each year at 7,000 restaurants, more than 80 percent... read more

Taco Bell should be number one. McDonald's is amazing and should be number two, but Taco Bell takes it with Quesarito and Crunchwrap Supreme, among other things. Nearly everything on the Taco Bell menu is amazing. McDonald's has a lot of crap mixed in with the great stuff. I love Mickey D's to death, but I seriously think Taco Bell puts addictive drugs in their food. It's so good.

The way I see it, McDonald's, how can anyone eat that stuff? And all that other burger stuff, people like that over tacos and burritos! Taco Bell isn't the best Mexican restaurant, not even close... but you can't go wrong with burrito goodness. Actually, you can, but that's another story.

OK, I'm done with all the Taco Bell gives you gas and stuff. First of all, it doesn't. Second of all, no one can compete with the quality of their tacos. I do have to say that it does vary from each location. The one by my house is amazing, but I do admit that when you go to other locations, it stinks. I just think that their amazing tacos make up for that.

6 Chick-fil-A Chick-fil-A is an American fast food restaurant chain headquartered in the city of College Park, Georgia, specializing in chicken sandwiches. Founded in May 1946, it operates more than 2,200 restaurants, primarily in the United States. The restaurant serves breakfast before transitioning to its lunch and dinner menu. Chick-fil-A also offers customers catered selections from its menu for special events... read more

The Chick-Fil-A restaurant chain puts McDonald's to shame. McDonald's always gives us low-quality, cold sandwiches, whereas Chick-Fil-A's chicken patties are delicious and always hot. Their toys are also a lot better than McDonald's; they're usually books of some sort instead of cheap plastic figurines. They actually care about the children eating at their restaurant, instead of using terrible marketing ploys to get children to blindly eat their terrible burgers and anything-but-chicken nuggets. Sure, I don't really like fast food, but at least Chick-Fil-A isn't complete garbage (it's passable by fast food standards) and puts effort and thought into the satisfaction of their customers, unlike McDonald's. Next time you're running late, pick up one of Chick-Fil-A's signature chicken patties instead of McDonald's synthetic "meat." You won't regret it (as much as getting a Big Mac).

7 KFC KFC, until 1991 known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is an American fast food restaurant chain that specializes in fried chicken. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, it is the world's second-largest restaurant chain (as measured by sales) after McDonald's, with almost 20,000 locations globally in 123 countries and territories as of December 2015. The chain is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, a restaurant... read more

KFC is heaven. Everyone in my class loves it! Their chicken wings are glorious. McDonald's is okay. Subway is another great one - I love the honey mustard. Pizza Hut is epic but not as good as Subway or McDonald's. Domino's pizza? They're disgusting. I mean, their pizzas are fantastic, but there's probably a 75 percent chance there's a booger in there. So be careful!

KFC tastes amazing, way better than Popeyes. I love their fries, which are by far one of the best-tasting fries ever, behind Jack In The Box or even on par with them. The chicken is crunchy and crispy, very good. And you can get it with a delicious, flavorful corn on the cob and mashed potatoes.

KFC is just pure goodness. They cook their chicken well, their replacement fries, potato wedges, and DELICIOUS, and it's a good place to eat in general. Watch out for a lot of customers, though, because when many customers are there, it'll be a while to eat the good stuff there.

8 Pizza Hut Pizza Hut is an American restaurant chain and international franchise which was founded in 1958 by Dan and Frank Carney.

Great pizza, great buffet, and a pretty nice place in general. Their stuffed crust pizza is the best, their breadsticks are good, and they have great cinnamon sticks from the buffet. You must go!

Pizza Hut's pizza is the cheesiest pizza ever! Over at Pizza Hut, the breadsticks taste heavenly, even with Parmesan. They have a good quality of pizza, small but better, and the best breadsticks I've ever had. No competition.

Hands down, the best breadsticks! The breadsticks with marinara sauce are a godsend. The pizza is average; it should be called Breadstick Hut. Just kidding, but the breadsticks are better than the pizza. The cinnamon sticks with frosting are also good.

9 Dairy Queen Dairy Queen is a chain of soft serve ice cream and fast-food restaurants owned by International Dairy Queen, Inc., a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.

Why is Dairy Queen all the way down here at #9? Unfortunately, there aren't very many of these where I am, but when I visit family in Minnesota, we always visit Dairy Queen to get that amazing Royal Blizzard. All the desserts here are great. The quality is much better than McDonald's.

Super awesome! My favorite dessert is the Triple Chocolate Brownie. It's a big brownie stuffed with chocolate fudge in the middle. It comes with vanilla ice cream and is topped with hot fudge.

If you love really good desserts and food, you gotta come here. It's literally heaven. I mean, every time I go there, my mouth waters like crazy, and once I start eating, I can't stop! That's how good it is there! (Unless you're allergic to dairy. I mean, it's in the name... Dairy Queen.)

10 Five Guys Burgers and Fries Five Guys Enterprises LLC (doing business as Five Guys Burgers and Fries) is an American fast casual restaurant chain focused on hamburgers, hot dogs, and French fries, and headquartered in Lorton, Virginia, an unincorporated part of Fairfax County. The first Five Guys restaurant opened in 1986 in Arlington County, Virginia, and by 2001, the chain had expanded to five locations throughout the Washington,... read more

The absolute best fast food joint I've ever eaten at. The burgers are extremely good, and with proper condiments, they can be the best burgers you will ever eat. The fries are delicious and come in bags, so you can bring them home to dine on. The reason McDonald's is at the top instead of this great restaurant is probably because they haven't ever gone to a Five Guys. But I can guarantee that if people weighed in between McDonald's and Five Guys, nearly everyone would choose Five Guys.

Come on, Five Guys is a hell of a lot better than disgusting McDonald's. The burgers at McDonald's are flavorless and gross-tasting. The fries also upset your stomach, unlike Five Guys. Five Guys has very tasty, great burgers and way better fries made out of peanut oil. Five Guys has real burgers, not crap like McDonald's or Burger King. You just have to go there and try them yourself to understand my comment.

11 In-N-Out Burger In-N-Out Burger is an American regional chain of fast food restaurants with locations primarily in the American Southwest and Pacific coast. It was founded in Baldwin Park, California in 1948 by Harry Snyder and Esther Snyder. The chain is currently headquartered in Irvine, California and has slowly expanded outside Southern California into the rest of California, as well as into Arizona, Nevada,... read more

My favorite place for burgers and fries is In-N-Out. The best part, aside from the food, is that they remember you if you come in often and they have your order already rung up! Additionally, they go around the restaurant and ask if everything is okay and if there is anything else they can get you, like a refill on your drinks. You don't get that at McDonald's. At McDonald's, you just get people who seem upset that you came in and made them do something. There is no service at McDonald's. However, there is terrific service at In-N-Out.

Only those who have tasted the In-n-Out burger have reached true cheeseburger enlightenment. Their toasted bun, melty cheese, delicious tomatoes and lettuce, and that steamy, cooked-to-order patty fresh off the griddle make them king. Vote for McDonald's only if you love nuggets that come from genetically modified geriatric chickens and low-quality burgers that aren't cooked-to-order and are kept under the heat lamp for hours.

12 Domino's Pizza Domino’s Pizza, Inc. is an American pizza restaurant chain founded in 1960. The corporation is headquartered at the Domino's Farms Office Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In February 2018, the chain became the largest pizza seller worldwide and in the United States based upon global retail sales.

Pizza Hut is more popular, but Domino's tastes way better. The taste and ingredients are all that matter. Therefore, it should be above Pizza Hut, which is good but not as good. In fact, it is the perfect pizza. Period.

Absolutely the best pizza in the world by far. The crust is crisp and the toppings are gorgeous.

Domino's Pizza should at least be in the top 10!
It's the best pizza in the world!

13 Sonic

Their food has gotten better, but what really makes Sonic killer is the drinks. Slushes, shakes, sodas - nearly an infinite amount of combinations. And they're always adding to their drink menu. Also, they have now added real fruit slushes.

Best hamburgers around: The hamburgers from SONIC! I have an idea.
Replace Sonic with McDonald's because McDonald's food is fake and comes out of a machine.

Sounds like a plan to me!

Why is this so far down on the list?! When I'm writing this, this should at least be in the top 10! This is my favorite burger place. They have the best cheeseburgers!

14 Chipotle

I used to hate this place because I thought the chips tasted awful. But once I tried their burritos, it was so good, and probably the mainstream restaurant closest to real Mexican food. It is way better than Subway in my opinion, and just as healthy, and it is much better than McDonald's. The vegetables are fresh, and the sauces are so good, and the chicken is always well made, best place for burritos. The only thing that isn't really that good about this place is the chips, but the burritos are heaven!

What? What is wrong with the world? Chipotle is my life! This should be number 1! Not only is Chipotle heaven in a burrito/bowl/taco, it's healthy for you! You can get your protein, dairy, veggies, fruits, and grains. Come on now... McDonald's is probably the main cause of obesity! You don't know what those people are doing to your food. But at Chipotle, you can watch your food! So I need everyone to vote for Chipotle because I just don't understand why this isn't number one... Or even in the top ten! It's sick!

15 Arby's Arby's is the second-largest quick-service fast-food sandwich restaurant chain in America in terms of units with more than 3,300 restaurants system wide and third in terms of revenue. In October 2017, Food & Wine called Arby's "America's second largest sandwich chain (after Subway)".

Why not in the top ten? Does McDonald's have curly fries and roast beef and the other meats? I think not. Subway, well, lettuce and a slice of ham. Airbus commercials, get to it. McDonald's, proud sponsors of whatever, and Subway, official food of Paul George or whatever. Arby's sauce, oh my goodness, so good. I can go to McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Hardee's, Five Guys, Dairy Queen, White Castle, etc., and get a burger. I can go to Arby's and get a real sandwich with curly fries and Diet Pepsi.

This is how you make fast food. Forget about McDonald's, Popeyes, White Castle, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Jimmy John's, Long John Silver's, Ground Round, or Burger King. Arby's has the perfect balance of healthy and unhealthy, and the curly fries are delicious. Truly unique and a nice break from McDonald's.

Try the smokehouse brisket. I get it with no BBQ sauce or mayonnaise. I have yet to find a fast food product of this quality and taste. Oddly enough, I used to hate Arby's until I actually tried it.

16 Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

It's amazing chicken when it's fresh, and it would have taken my vote if it were consistently fresh, but more than a few times I've gotten chicken that has sat out for a few hours and it's chewy and nasty.

Best fried chicken I've ever tasted! And the fries. They taste bomb. KFC is terrible. Why is it 5th? Popeyes has crispy, tender as hell, juicy, delicious chicken and super flavorful fries.

There is only one of these in Maine, but worth every last mile... chicken strips with barbecue sauce... m

17 Panera Bread Panera Bread Company is an American chain of bakery-café fast casual restaurants in the United States and Canada. Its headquarters are in Sunset Hills, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, and operates as Saint Louis Bread Company in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Offerings include soups, salads, pasta, sandwiches, specialty drinks, and bakery items.

Are you serious? Number 48? Panera is the classiest restaurant and healthiest fast food restaurant I have ever been to. The staff is polite and has a sense of humor, the food is top quality and also healthy. The appearance of Panera will appeal to everyone, whether the elderly, kids, teenagers, anyone. Their soups are excellent, the sandwiches are top-notch, and their desserts (which are freshly made) are to die for. I don't understand how Panera Bread is in 48th place, with all the fatty restaurants at the top. I mean, you can eat DELICIOUS food without having it spurt grease. Panera is OBVIOUSLY the best one, no doubt.

YAS, so good! It's probably the healthiest thing in here for you, and with tons of variety, you're sure to find something you like. Whether it's a freshly made bagel or homemade soup, Panera's got it. Whenever I'm sick, Panera's chicken noodle soup always does the trick! And whenever I want a healthy breakfast that still tastes good, I come here because you can get hot chocolate, muffins, scones, bagels, freshly made bread, oatmeal, etc. Also, if you try the brownies, you'll get into a food coma with the first bite! They're so rich, filling, and DELICIOUS. So pick Panera's bread, the best restaurant in town!

18 Panda Express

Panda Express has some really good food and I always get full there. The chow mein is tasty, especially with soy sauce. The fried rice is by far the best I have tasted out of all the American Chinese places I have been to. The Veggie Spring Rolls are healthy, crunchy, delicious, and make a great snack. And I love their Honey Walnut Shrimp, Broccoli Beef (without the beef, but love the broccoli and sauce), and their Orange Chicken is good too.

Their orange chicken is sooo good! The chow mein, fried rice, and egg rolls are also amazing. Best of all, the food is always fresh, and the restaurants are always clean, so you can feel good about what you're eating. It's also very cheap. PE doesn't get near enough love!

I think Panda Express is okay, but it is not real Chinese food, which disappoints me. But I like how the food tastes - the shrimp is spicy and good, the rice is flavorful, and the chow mein is awesome.

19 Starbucks Starbucks Corporation is an American coffee company and coffeehouse chain. Starbucks was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1971. Today it operates 23,768 locations worldwide, including 13,107 in the United States, 2,204 in China, 1,418 in Canada, 1,160 in Japan and 872 in South Korea.

What I like so much about Starbucks is that it has drinks for people who are lactose intolerant! That's perfect for me!

Their S'mores Frappuccino is heaven - it's creamy and has lots of chocolate. Totally worth getting! Too bad it's seasonal. I'm not too into their other drinks though.

Starbucks just makes the best coffee for teens and adults! I just love Starbucks.

20 Jack in the Box Jack in the Box is an American fast-food restaurant chain founded February 21, 1951, by Robert O. Peterson in San Diego, California, where it is headquartered.

This is the most delicious food ever. I could eat it every day. I would get fat, of course, but it's so worth it! Really, it's true. I would rather be fat than not have Jack in the Box! I wish they had some in Illinois, but they don't. So when I go to California, I eat there at least twice. I love their burgers, and their tacos are really good too!

Jack in the Box is awesome. Their curly fries are the bomb! Their burgers are good; this place has one of the best fries. I like the Jack Spicy Chicken. It's a very good burger. Even their regular fries are extremely good and the best in any restaurant.

Jack in the Box is so underrated. It makes the best nuggets, fries, and burgers. Also, they have a teriyaki bowl, something most fast food restaurants don't have.

21 Whataburger

Every time I've gone to Texas, I have eaten at Whataburger. Every time I go to Texas in the future, I will continue to go to Whataburger.

Whataburger blows In-n-Out out of the water. When they first came to Texas, I was so excited to try the best fast food burger in town. I tried it three different times. It is good, but to call it the best is an overshot. Whataburger is the winner in my opinion.

If you're from the South, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. Best fast food place you will ever visit. They have tenders that blow away McDonald's chicken nuggets, and even their breakfasts are high quality.

22 A&W

A&W... By far my favorite! McDonald's uses horse meat in their god-awful burgers, Burger King has terrible service, and Wendy's has mushy burger patties. Now let's start anew, A&W is the king of root beer, A&W's burgers (especially the Teen Burger) are not too fatty, not mushy, not made of horse meat (all beef patties) with the right amount of ingredients, they are delicious! I am currently waiting for a Spicy Blue Cheese Teen Burger! And at least where I'm from, the employees literally greet me with a heartwarming smile.

The original root beer by A&W alone will make the restaurant ranked high, but topping that with amazing fries and good burgers makes it even more amazing. I mean, this restaurant goes way back to the days of sitting in your car and having them deliver the food out to you. Simply amazing.

I love the fries and the wraps! And A&W has a great mascot!

McDonald's: just a boring clown.
Burger King: a creepy king.
Wendy's: a red-headed girl with pigtails.
A&W: a not scary-looking bear wearing a sweater and hat.

A&W is my favorite!

23 Little Caesars Pizza Little Caesars is an international fast-food chain specializing in pizza, founded in 1959. Known for its "Hot-N-Ready" pizzas, the company aims to offer quick and affordable meal options. With thousands of locations worldwide, it is one of the largest pizza chains in terms of sales. The brand is also recognized for its quirky marketing campaigns and commitment to providing value for money.

#1 spot for lunches at work. I live in Ottawa and have lots of options. It seems like, beyond myself, the other 40+ employees at my work also agree.

Cheap, addictive, and most of their specials are actually good. What's not to like about making your lunch half a pizza for $3?

As far as fast food goes, Little Caesars is the best. Not saying much though. Fast food isn't all that good. I love their breadsticks and butter garlic dipping sauce.

24 Dunkin' Donuts Dunkin' Donuts is an American global doughnut company and coffeehouse based in Canton, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1950 by William Rosenberg in Quincy, Massachusetts and has become one of the largest coffee and baked goods chains in the world, with more than 12,000 restaurants in 36 countries. The chain's products include doughnuts, bagels, other baked goods, and a variety of hot and iced beverages... read more

The way I see it, it's the one place to get donuts, croissants, ice cream, and other stuff you might get for lunch and dinner.

I could walk to Dunkin Donuts because it is next to my neighborhood, and it is the best ever!

Delicious donuts, even though every moron I know just goes there for the coffee.

25 Steak 'n Shake

Seriously? How is Steak 'n Shake at number 48? McDonald's has some good burgers, but they don't compare to Steak 'n Shake's burgers.

I love Steak 'n Shake. My grandson, who is 9 years old, said the cheeseburgers taste like a cloud in his mouth. He loves them.

Amazing selection of perfectly prepared burgers. Price is unbeatable. Shakes are to die for.
