Top 10 Things That Should Be Added to Super Mario Maker for Future Updates/DLC

The Top Ten
1 More Overworld Themes

I agree with the themes we need, but I don't agree with any of the exclusive themes except Indoor Pyramid, House, and Space. Also, I agree with the idea of changing the weather and time.

We need desert. Then I will be happy.

Sky, desert, beach, jungle, volcano... Nintendo, please update this game.

2 More Power-Ups

It was hard deciding from all of these. Nice job on the list by the way! I picked this because we need more power-ups. It's cool, and we don't have that many power-ups in Mario Maker.

Without the Ice Flower, the skeletons are invincible.

We need more than just three power-ups in our levels.

3 More Game Styles

Super Mario Bros. 2 from America would be great. The Japanese version sucked, and the graphics are literally just the same thing from the first game.

4 Koopalings

Okay, sure, Bowser Jr. just acts like a weak version of Lemmy from Super Mario Bros. 3. He's also a slow version of Ludwig from Super Mario World.

You can't have a proper boss fight without them. No Koopalings = me tired of Mario Maker.

Yes! I hope they will get announced soon.

5 More Enemies

We need more Mario enemies, especially more bosses! I don't really care for the Koopalings, but they should be included anyway (I get tired of just Bowser and Bowser Jr. all the time!). I also want to see Boom Boom more than the Koopalings since he's been in more games.

I think Chargin' Chuck is iconic enough, and we should also have outer space as an option for a background, like in Super Mario Galaxy. Mario Maker lacks enough content for creating vintage, authentic-seeming Mario video games. It doesn't even have the Ice Flower or other good power-ups.

Super Mario Maker isn't worth my time without proper enemies, bosses, music, backgrounds, power-ups, or even additional playable characters. There should be an option to play as Luigi, Toad, Wario, Bowser himself, or even Metal Mario in the New Super Mario Bros. U theme instead of just the NES Super Mario Bros. one.

6 False Walls
7 Gravity Switches

This may seem hard to code. I know. Anyway, in Super Paper Mario, there is a stage called the Whoa Zone, and it featured a block that, when hit, flipped the gravity 180 degrees. This should be added. It would be an interesting element.

I agree. This element would be very useful and would add to creativity.

8 Star Coins

And don't forget the dragon coins!

9 Torpedo Ted

If you put a Bill Blaster underwater, it becomes a Torpedo Ted launcher.

10 Invisible Tracks

This would just make levels like GameXplain's Space Invaders look better, but it's still a nice touch.

The Contenders
11 Fire Bros.
12 Vertical Levels
13 Slopes

These could make levels great and could make levels terrible.

14 Better Course World
15 Water Without a Water Level

These would be called water tiles. Shaking them would turn them into poison tiles.

16 More Bosses
17 Secret Exits

Like the door locks in Super Mario World or anything like that.

Otherwise, ghost houses would practically be useless.

18 Papyrus Papyrus is a character from the 2015 game Undertale, made by Toby Fox. He is the Younger brother of Sans the skeleton, royal guard in training, and a sentry in the town of Snowdin. Opposite to his brother, papyrus is active, loud, and full of himself; but in an endearing way. Papyrus means to become... read more

22 Freddy Fazbear Freddy Fazbear (originally known as Freddybear, as seen in the Kickstarter) is one of four main antagonists of Five Nights at Freddy's, who later appear as variations in the succeeding games.
23 Angry Sun

It could be defeated with a star or frozen with an Ice Flower.
