Top 10 Best Characters from The 100
The 100 is full of unforgettable characters who grow and change as much as the world around them. Whether you're drawn to the strong-willed leaders, the morally complex anti-heroes, or the fiercely loyal fighters, this show delivers a range of personalities that leave a lasting impact. Now it's your turn to weigh in on which characters stood out the most. From characters who've been there since day one to those who shook things up along the way, this list gives you the chance to rank your favorites. Maybe you admire someone for their courage and resourcefulness, or maybe you just loved watching their personal evolution over the seasons. Whatever the reason, your vote helps shape this ultimate ranking of the best characters in The 100.
He was the last person I wanted to live at the beginning. I hated him. But by season 2, "whatever the hell we want" seemed to be about saving his friends and family, not just avoiding the cops. I absolutely despised how right he has been throughout a lot of the series. He knew they would still be treated like criminals when the Ark came down.
He was great at getting into Mount Weather, even without Lincoln. I love how he and Clarke end up together at the end of every season. I feel like in their own ways, they went through a lot of the same pain.
Murphy's character development is amazing. From episode one, he is easily the most disliked character, but by the end of season 2, we already see the amount of growth he has undergone and will continue to experience. He manages to become a fan favorite after allowing himself to feel for others rather than just looking out for himself.
And honestly, who could blame him for putting himself first anyway? He wasn't a leader like Bellamy and Clarke. He didn't feel an obligation to put others before himself before he got to know them and realized how much he cared for them.
Unlike other characters, Murphy is still continuing to grow all these seasons later, and I'm excited to see where it takes him.
The reason I adore Octavia Blake is that she is her own person and won't make herself be someone she isn't. She was never a part of Skaikru or Trikru. She spent time trying to find herself and discovered she could be whoever she wanted to be. She is a warrior and a survivor, and I know that whatever they discover on this new planet, she will be able to face it.
And yes, she became Blodreina, who a lot of people didn't like, but there is a reason why. She became who she needed to be, and that was Blodreina.
I am glad the writers didn't kill her off in season 5 because I think she is the most capable of all characters to turn her story around and do what Monty asked of them. She has the potential to be the good guy (or her warrior equivalent), and I hope that she will be.
Raven is the smartest character on this show. No one can change my opinion on that. She is strong-willed, determined, and a genius, of course. If it weren't for Raven Reyes, there is absolutely no way the rest would've survived this long. She is constantly the character averting a new disaster or coming up with a creative solution to save everyone's lives.
Raven is the most badass character on this show. No one can change my opinion on that. She is strong-willed, determined, and a genius, of course. If it weren't for Raven Reyes, there is absolutely no way the rest would have survived this long. She is constantly the character averting a new disaster or coming up with a creative solution to save everyone's lives.
I also love her storyline with her leg. We don't get to see struggles like that in shows like this ever. Seeing all the emotions she goes through and the obstacles she faces during that time is heartbreaking and inspiring.
More of her scenes bring tears to my eyes than all other characters combined. I think many people can relate to the idea of feeling in denial and lost when they can no longer do what they used to and having to find whole new ways to continue doing the work that is important to them.
Raven made it through all of that, losing Finn, and so much more, and has come out the other end stronger. She deserves that #1 spot.
Clarke is so underrated. Even though she made difficult decisions, it was all to protect the people she loved. The saddest part is that no one understands her. They always think of her as the bad guy, but at the end of the day, she did it to protect the people she loves.
She saves her friends so they wouldn't die from the radiation. One day they will thank her.
She has been through a lot, and she is my favorite character. The reason she is my favorite character is that she tries to save everyone on the dropship. When Mount Weather came in season 2, she tried to save everyone but had a difficult choice to make. After Lexa's betrayal, then in season 3, Lexa is trying to make Clarke's people her people.
They fall in love right after Lexa is killed by a bullet and dies. Then Clarke is left heartbroken and she saves humanity again after that.
But after Lexa's death, Clarke has a heavy burden on her. Then she meets Madi and they become like mother and daughter. She raises her for about 6 years. Clarke is a good person who made hard choices. And as it is said in the show, she makes these decisions so her people don't have to.
Monty was an extremely great character. He is kind of cute, and I loved his relationship with Jasper.
He is intelligent and compassionate when it comes to friends and family.
I am really upset with the writers. They shouldn't have killed his character off.
By far the wisest, sweetest, most reasonable character to come from this show. He deserved the world, and I'm glad the writers gave him a "happy" ending with the woman he loved.
It's harder to choose not to fight than it is to fight. He was the strongest character.
Kane started off as a total jerk, but after his mother died and the Ark went down, his character began to improve. Since then, he's always strived for peace and usually succeeds. At first, he would do anything to be the leader, and now he would die for his followers.
I'm not a huge fan of Abby, but Kabby makes me very happy, so these two better stay on the show at least for another season.
During season five, he made some questionable choices, so I agree that he should not be number one. But every character on this show has made a choice that the fandom hates. Let's be honest, we all hated Bellamy when Pike was around. Yeah, so Kane definitely deserves to be in the top ten.
In my opinion, she was one of the best characters in The 100. She truly stood out as one of the greatest, but the one thing I disliked about her was that she betrayed Clarke in season two. That betrayal changed the dynamic between them and shifted the storyline in a significant way.
However, in season three, she reunited with Clarke, which led to her changing her mind and ultimately showing her love and affection. I loved that they came together in the end, but I was heartbroken when she died. I almost cried for hours. That said, part of me feels like she kind of deserved it.
I don't think there's anyone who dislikes Lincoln. His morals are incredible, and he is so sweet. Linctavia is one of my favorite couples, and I cried like a baby during his death. I hate Pike! Lincoln did everything to protect everyone. Not just his people, but all people.
He is the best character in The 100, brave, selfless, always trying to do the right thing, and looking for the best for everyone.
He definitely shouldn't have died. Without him, The 100 would not have survived the first season.
He is absolutely a great person. He has so much compassion, and he and Octavia were perfect together. He was so selfless and down to earth, truly amazing. He was also willing to lay his life down to save his people.
Loved him in season 1 and especially in season 2. Didn't like him in the next seasons, but I tried to understand what he went through. In season 4, I started to love him again, and he really deserved better.
I wish people would try to understand him. I know he was annoying, but he was such a pure soul (he was also the youngest of them all) who experienced too many bad things.
I liked him before he went psycho from Maya's death. He was funny and sweet. Even in season four, I kind of agree with him. While everyone around him is rushing to prepare for Praimfaya and not enjoying what will be many of their last days alive, he's enjoying the beauty of life. I hate that it takes him being broken and portrayed as crazy to show that perspective.
The Newcomers
I love Madi. She is literally so sweet, and I love her mother-daughter relationship with Clarke. Her death was the saddest on the show for me. I physically couldn't handle it.
I was really upset when she turned herself in. I know she was trying to do what was right, but I feel like it made Clarke killing Bellamy all for nothing. It also ended up leading to her death. I think that Madi was definitely one of the greatest additions to the show.
She is the person Clarke holds closest. She is so much like Lexa. They are both fearless and determined, and they both hold Clarke close. Since Lexa died, Clarke feels guilty for her death, so she does everything in her power to save, help, and keep Madi from death.
Madi helps Clarke through emotional times, even if she doesn't know it. She really has a lot of influence on the importance of Clarke's new self.
Roan was such a badass, interesting guy.
Would have loved seeing him in the bunker. Don't think he would have made it there, though.
A great character for the season he was in.
Would have loved to see more from him, but his death made sense. No way could he have lived in the bunker.
Roan was a badass. I wish he would've made it to season 5.
Another moronic mistake by the writers for killing off his character.
I love how you learn about her character more as the show goes on. It's really interesting and intriguing. She is definitely the most badass character on the show. She was broken from a young age, and on the Ark, she learned to be caring and loving. I wish she learned to be more independent, but I just love how they developed her throughout the show.
Echo is probably one of the only characters in The 100 that I love, other than Indra!
Echo is a good character who was raised wrong and made bad choices.
But she is still a good character.
I think Thelonious was one of the most important characters.
Yes, he might have killed many people on the Ark, but it was all to keep his people alive. He even sacrificed himself for them.
To be honest, he was right about the bunker - about taking the bunker for his own people.
1. The Grounders turned that bunker into a blood prison anyway.
2. He had the intention of saving his people from Luna because she said if she won, no one would be safe.
3. I would do the same, and it doesn't make me bad or evil.
I think he was smart about taking the bunker. Even Clarke agreed. Actually, it was her idea. That stupid conclave was a waste of time.
Best character ever and my favorite!
I literally love Emori so much. First of all, you can't tell me I'm wrong, but she and John literally carried season 4. Memori is my favorite couple on the show. I cried so hard when I thought she died in season 7. I also love her friendship with Raven.
I know she did some bad things at the beginning, but like every other character, she developed, and compared to some people, she never did anything that bad.
I love it when in season 7 she and Murphy are protecting everyone else in the reactor. It really shows you how much she has grown as a person. I also feel like her development has a lot to do with the six years in space. She finally started to feel like her life actually mattered and she was worth something. Also, she finally felt like she had a home and family.
Love this woman. She's the mother figure for another fierce woman on the show, Octavia.
They're both fricking awesome, and no one can tell me otherwise. I am so passionate about the bond Indra and Octavia have.
Love you, Indra!
My favorite part with her is in season 7, where she finally steps up and becomes a leader herself.
To be fair, she always was but just never showed it.
She is so solid.
It's refreshing to have a character like that in a show like this!
Every scene Diyoza was in was just so much fun. Yes, I know she was a serial killer, but the evolution of her character was well done.
The character growth is amazing.
My 12-year-old sister, who looks similar to Charlotte, and I were watching this show. The episode before Charlotte died, I told my sister she would be Charlotte. It was honestly the funniest coincidence ever. Still, I hated her death. Also, when she killed Wells, I jumped. It was out of nowhere.
His character started off a bit one-dimensional and like a plot device, but later on, he became a major character. His death was the saddest on the show. I believe the show was sitting on a gold mine with a character like Finn, but instead, they killed him off for the massacre. Lexa ordered his death even though she was probably behind the first few attacks that started the war in the first place.
I don't like the show after his death because there is no such thing as justice in this show. Finn will always have his fans.
Had you not gone crazy at the end, you'd be in space with your astronaut girlfriend. I really liked you.
Why does Jason feel the need to just kill off any characters the fandom might really like? What's up with that, dude?
She was very interesting and tough. She was probably one of the strongest characters on the whole show.
I don't understand how she's only twenty-fourth.
I am probably the only one who likes him, but I think he deserved redemption in the end.
He died way too soon. He and Clarke were like best friends, and it kind of breaks my heart knowing that he died.
It's so interesting how a minor character was given a bigger part in season 3.
She should definitely be in the top ten, instead of Jasper.
Chelsey Reist has really brought such a minor character to life.
I hope she gets a bigger role in season 5 and beyond.
Glad that she and Monty were life partners and had Jordan.
I don't get why she gets so much hate. She's literally the cutest, and Paige did such an amazing job playing Abby.
She deserves to be in the top 5!
She saved so many people. She deserves better.
I've liked Abby from the very beginning.
A very complex character, in my opinion. And Paige Turco portrayed her so well.
Even though she wasn't in a lot of scenes, she was one of the most important characters in the Season 3 plot.
Great character. Hope she makes it far on the list.
