Top 10 Most Underrated Animated Movie Characters of the 2000s

For my firs list of 2019 were going to be looking back at some of the most underrated characters from animated movies of the 2000 decade 2000-2009, these are the characters who don't get as much recognition as a lot of the other animated movie characters like Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc., Shrek or even Dory from Finding Nemo and for this list we will be including both Disney and Non Disney animated movies.
The Top Ten
1 Rodney Copperbottom - Robots

From an underrated movie Rodney is an inspiring inventor who goes Robot City in hopes of meeting with Bigweld his idol and help to make life better for all robot kind only to find out that Ratchet has taken over Bigweld industries and has ceased halt on spare parts and forcing everyone to buy upgrades or be sent to the chop shop Rodney does his best to help everyone he can but realizes that he needs Bigweld's help but when he actually meets him he is disappointing by the hallow shell he has become not caring about what's going on in robot city then tells him to give up and leave, and just as Rodney is ready to leave and return home after his friends all show up and Fender telling him about how Ratchet and Madam Gasket plan to unleash a group of super sweepers to destroy all out modes and Rodney has a revelation and decides to stay and fight as Bigweld shows up inspired by what Rodney told him earlier to help him take down Ratchet.

This guy was my childhood. I really don't hear too much about this movie

It was an 'okay' movie that was AMAZINGLY good to watch every time.

2 Kronk - Emperor's New Groove Kronk is the secondary antagonist of Disney's 2000 animated feature film The Emperor's New Groove, and the titular main protagonist of 2005's Kronk's New Groove. Kronk often serves as Yzma's hapless henchman and a major component in her schemes to overthrow Emperor Kuzco.

A former henchman turned good guy Kronk is possibly the best character from the Emperor's New Groove and was popular enough to get his own spin off movie in which he faces the crisis of his father Paipi coming to visit and see all his success that he told him he had before losing them and how he just wants his father to be proud of him and get the thumbs up from him.

Few actors/voice artists are better at playing big, arrogant idiots better than Patrick Warburton.

Kronk is hilarious. Why does he not pull the right lever?

He is totally hilarious in the movie

3 Violet Parr - The Incredibles Violet Parr is a fictional character from The Incredibles and Incredibles 2. The movies follow her and her family as superheros, living in a world where superheros are known as destructive and must abide only by their secret identities. Violet has the power of invisibility (reflecting her quiet personality) and force field creation, identical to Invisible Woman (from an unrelated franchise). She is the eldest child of the family, aged at 14 years old, with younger brothers Dash and Jack-Jack, and parents Bob and Helen.

Starts off as just your typical mopey teenager but as the movie progressed she starts to grow and come into her own as she slowly begins to develop her powers and she ultimately ends up saving her family after Syndrome's jet crashes and destroys their house using her force field.

She's my least favourite of the Parrs but she's good too I guess

So cool. Love the character.

4 Valiant - Valiant

The movie is a bit of ht and miss that centers around Valiant a small wood pigeon who wants to do his part and join the royal pigeon force during World War II by becoming a messenger bird despite everyone around him telling him he's too small, he's finally given his chance to prove himself after one of his crew carrying the message is captured by the villainous Van Talon's henchmen and sues his small size to sneak into the bunker hideout and rescue the others and the message and while the others deal with the henchmen Valiant desperately tries to deliver the message while avoiding Van Talon who's on hot pursuit after incapacitating him is finally able to deliver the message which turns the tide of the war and him and the rest of his crew become heroes in the process.

That movie was seriously forgotten, I really like the movie and Valiant is my favourite character I guess, although somewhat very cliché in the beggining. I overall like his heroic personality and character development

Next to The Wild, this is one of the most forgotten Disney movies of all time

5 Mumbles - Happy Feet

Born without the ability to sing which is necessary to attracting a mate but can tap dance which is strongly frowned upon in his colony which makes him a total outcast in the eyes of almost everyone including the elders who ridicule him even blaming his dancing behavior for their poor fishing season and exile him when he refuses to stop but its ultimately Mumbles dancing that ultimately saves the day in the end after he gets everyone to do the same and get the researchers who've been watching over them to get the government to ban all fishing in Antarctica putting an end to the fish shortage for Mumbles and his colony.

6 Spirit - Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
7 Susan Murphy - Monsters vs Aliens

You got to love her and the movie

8 Sam Sparks - Cloudy with a Chance Of Meatballs

Started off as a typical weather girl with good looks who is actually super smart but was ridiculed for it so she changed her appearance hid her smarts so people would be more accepting of her.

Excluding Chester V from the sequel, and Flint Lockwood, she's my favourite character in the duology. I seriously hope it recieves another sequel

9 Horace Nebbercraker - Monster House

Though in the beginning of the movie he's seen as an angry old man who yells at children to get off his lawn, but its revealed through flash backs that he fell in love with Constance who used as a sideshow attraction and was mocked and ridiculed by the people until he rescued her from the circus got married and while working on building their dream house Constance dies in an accident after some kids were throwing rocks and mocking her, though she died her spirit remained in the house and started to make the house come to life which results in Nebbercracker pretending to hate children in order to protect them from her especially around Halloween.

10 Emily - Corpse Bride

Better known as the corpse bride who is awaken after Victor accidentally proposes to her and now sees him as her new husband and despite being a dead corpse she does have a very lively personality with a passion for both music and dancing.

Underrated movie. Is so good though.

The Contenders
11 Jim Hawkins - Treasure Planet

Treasure planet is not bad. It is amazing.

12 Red Puckett - Hoodwinked
13 Verne - Over the Hedge
14 Chick Hicks - Cars

Probably one of the most underrated Pixar villians altogheter, often ranking near the bottom in terms of Pixar villians in most people's opinions, whereas I think he is among the best pixar villians. And you might have seen a cliché in me, I love him because of his design, but I think his personality is fleshed-out as well

15 Monsieur Hood - Shrek
16 RJ - Over the Hedge (Dreamworks)

Why doesn't anyone talk about this movie?!?!

17 The Cat - Coraline
18 Wolf W. Wolf - Hoodwinked
19 Jewel - Rio
20 Chowder - Monster House
21 Wataru Mitani - Brave Story
22 Blu - Rio
23 Ben Tennyson - Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix
24 DJ Walters - Monster House
25 Bender - Futurama: Bender's Big Score Bender Bending Rodríguez is a fictional character who is one of the main characters in the animated television series Futurama. He was created by series creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen and is voiced by John DiMaggio.
