Highly underrated, beautifully put together film. People hated it because it wasn't an exact replica of the book, and ignored the wonderful acting, set / costume design, score, and screenplay.

It shows the strength of a woman trying to protect her son and regain controll of her life. The lenght to which she goes to asure that her son does not suffer the consequencies of her dilemma.
