Comic book movies have become incredibly popular over time. In the past, people thought they were just for kids, but now they are big hits and receive lots of praise from movie critics too. They've won over audiences around the world with their stunning visuals, exciting stories, and detailed characters, bringing our favorite comic books to life.

Whether it's the thrilling battles, deep emotions, or difficult choices the characters face, there's something in comic book movies for everyone.

When you watch these films filled with heroes, villains, and their conflicts between right and wrong, you see more than just cool fights and special effects. You get a glimpse into different worlds, beliefs, and values. From the dark, gritty streets of Gotham City to the colorful and imaginative realms of Marvel, each movie offers something unique, a new story and unforgettable characters.

Maybe you enjoy the action and epic battles, or maybe it's the complex characters and layered plots that pull you in. Perhaps you love seeing the iconic heroes you grew up reading about finally brought to life on screen. Whether it's the visuals, the storytelling, or the big ideas these movies explore, comic book movies offer something for everyone.

The Top Ten
  1. The Dark Knight

Everything this movie did has been copied by virtually all later comic book movies, with the overrated Avengers being the biggest culprit, copying the whole "villain gets captured on purpose to have dialogue and control the good guys" section. This movie rewrote the rules.

This is so far the best comic book movie. It shows the rest of the world why we fanboys love the characters we read about so much. It's more than just guys in suits fighting each other. It's high drama with character-driven plots.

This shouldn't even be a competition. The Dark Knight is one of the best movies of all time. The acting, the plot, the atmosphere, everything is exceptional.

  2. The Avengers

I think this movie showed everyone that superhero team-up movies can do well and that action ensemble movies can succeed with both critics and audiences. Before this, The Fantastic Four failed, and so did The A-Team with Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper, so I think we were all shocked when this turned out to be so good.

What? Number 23! Are you kidding me! Although I don't think this is a better movie than The Dark Knight, it was a boatload more fun! The Dark Knight trilogy was more serious, but this one was way more fun. Easily the best comic book movie and movie of all time.

  3. Guardians of the Galaxy

How on Terra is this number nineteen!?

  4. The Dark Knight Rises

Truly interesting story with many amazing plot twists, plus Bane and Talia Al Ghul!

REALLY!? 11!?!? I just lost all hope in humanity. Dark Knight, despite your awesomeness, I despise you for doing this!

This should be number one for its action, performances, and suspense.

  5. Spider-Man (2002)

We had to wait decades, but finally, it came along and blew us away. Good casting at the time, brilliant effects, and a storyline not too different to alienate a true fan. Its pedigree can't be disputed, and it just comes across so well that you forget it's a superhero movie. It should be number one.

This movie was AWESOME. It isn't as good compared to The Amazing Spider-Man, but I still think it was a great movie. If you've never watched this movie, then you should give it a try. It may surprise you.

Simply awesome. Tobey Maguire was perfect, much better than The Amazing Spider-Man.

  6. Batman

Are the Nostalgia Critic and I the only ones who prefer this over The Dark Knight?

The best superhero movie of all time. Michael Keaton's performance as Batman is SPECTACULAR.

  7. Spider Man 2

Not sure why the 2002 Spider-Man movie is listed above this one, since I remember virtually everyone saying how they felt that this movie bettered its predecessor in almost every way. This one is probably my favorite superhero movie, still, even after 12 years.

My dad and I love this movie to death!

This is not only the best comic book movie, but possibly the best movie of all time.

  8. Batman Begins

  9. Iron Man

  10. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Seriously! This has got to be Marvel's answer to The Dark Knight. The cast is great, the action sequences are beyond The Dark Knight's, and the plot is far better than Spider-Man's. Sure, the writing may be a little awkward if you think about it long enough (nitpicking), but this movie deserves the top spot.

Why is this masterpiece so low on the list? Definitively one of the best, if not the best, Marvel movie to date.

Really great performances by Evans and Johansson, great action, great story. All around, a pretty great movie.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Possibly the best comic book movie ever, in my humble opinion. The animation is magical, and the plot is varied and unique, giving the film and the trilogy the right sense of scale and stakes. It is also a thrilling setup for the final installment, whenever it comes out.

  13. ?

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

  14. The Contenders
  15. Watchmen

I am a huge Watchmen fan. I would describe how amazing this movie is, but I will end up typing the entire story.

Glad to see this one rank well. Very neat plot overall.

  16. X2 - X-Men United

Though I voted for DOFP, this is in fact the best ever X-Movie, maybe the best comic book movie ever.

    Incredible movie in every way.

  17. X-Men: Days of Future Past

This one is probably this far down on the list on account of it coming out fairly recently. It got my vote to hopefully push it up a few spots (at least past Barb Wire, laugh out loud).

Holy Bajeesus. Everything you need in not just a comic movie, but a movie in general. Absolute masterpiece.

This is by far the best X-Men film. While it's in my top three, at least it deserves to be in the top ten.

  18. Superman

  19. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

  20. X-Men

  21. Sin City

Dark, brooding, and Jessica Alba makes it a whole lot better.

  22. Logan

Beautiful, just so beautiful. Should be number two because nothing is going to beat The Dark Knight.

Arguably the best comic book movie of all time, tied with The Dark Knight.

  23. Batman Returns

I like this movie because it shows you how Catwoman became who she is now. It also has a messed-up villain in the movie. A funny and serious movie.

  24. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

  25. Kick-Ass

How is this not even in the top five? Intense, superbly acted, hysterical, exhilarating. Seriously, people! Bring on Kick-Ass 2!

  26. X-Men: First Class

Vivid, heartbreaking, and leaves you asking questions.

The best X-Men movie by a mile.

  27. The Amazing Spider-Man

What the heck is this one doing here?!

  28. Avengers: Infinity War

The best Marvel film ever, with the biggest stakes. Not even Kevin Feige could have predicted the scale and crossovers in this film. Pulling it off without feeling gimmicky was truly a work of art.

  29. Batman: Mask of Phantasm

Best superhero movie of all time! This makes The Dark Knight look like children's programming!

Best Batman movie, best superhero movie.
