Eventually, he sees a woman in a crowded street and starts beating her to death. However, since the anime is set in the future with advanced technology that can immediately identify criminals, the rest of the people around stand and watch, looking completely expressionless. They don't understand what's happening or how to react. Some even start recording it, thinking it's some kind of show.
It's exactly what it sounds like. After losing to Ganta at Carnival Corpse, Senji is forced to play a penalty game and has his eye literally ripped out.
I actually saw this scene on YouTube one time and was browsing through the comment section. I read one where the person said he actually saw this scene at age 4.
