Best Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Characters
After seeing Oath Under Snow, it's safe to say Miyu Edelfelt, or should I say, Miyu Sakatsuki is arguably one of the most tragic Fate heroines in the franchise. And this is coming from a spin-off that engorges itself in fanservice and yuri content and all that stuff, no less! Honestly, I liked the approach 3rei took Fate/kaleid in. Especially now that we know about Miyu's situation now. Poor Miyu was raised solely as a human tool who could grant wishes, and even despite Kiritsugu and Shirou saving her when she was almost killed by her collapsing shrine when the Ainsworth family caused the pitch black disaster that almost destroyed all of Fuyuki City, Kiritsugu still planned to use the Child of God herself just to save everyone at the price of her own life. It was only by Kiritsugu's peaceful death and Shirou not taking the same path as his father did that Miyu was raised well by Shirou. And when she was kidnapped by the Ainsworth family, Shirou would go great lengths to rescue her and ...more
Definitely can't wait to get Chloe von Einzbern as a Welfare Servant in the upcoming Prisma Causeway collaboration event! That said, there are three things that I like about Chloe. One, her seiyuu being none other than Chiwa Saito, aka the voice of Homura Akemi and Tamamo no Mae. Two, her sassy and deviant personality contrasting that of the more good-willed and innocent Illya. And three, her lore. While Miyu is arguably more tragic than Chloe, it goes without saying both have their own tragic backgrounds. For Chloe, she was Illya's sealed memories turned into a second personality when Irisviel sealed said memories to make a happy life for Illya instead of having her be the vessel for the Holy Grail. It doesn't sound like much at first, but think about it. How would you feel if you only existed as a second personality of one person's sealed memories and had to live in that person's shadow where you sat in darkness while that person stood in the light? Other than that, GET READY TO ...more
I'm just going to say this for anyone seeing this list in the future: Now that I've seen 3rei, whenever I praise Shirou Emiya from Fate/kaleid, let it be known that I praise the one of the Miyuverse, NOT the Illyaverse. When I first made this list, I didn't put a lot of thought into it, but now that I've caught up with the latest installment in this spin-off, I honestly have to say Miyuverse Shirou, aka Alternate Universe Shirou, is arguably one of, if not, THE best incarnation of Shirou in any Fate series installment thus far. Prior to seeing him in action in Oath Under Snow where he would raise and care for Miyu and risk his life to save her before coming to save her again in 3rei, only UBW and Heaven's Feel were the closest to having the greatest incarnations of Shirou. Other than that, Miyuverse Shirou rocks, but Illyaverse Shirou sucks.
