Top 10 Female Anime Characters with Breasts So Big They Practically Have Macromastia

Macromastia, or breast hypertrophy, is a condition where a woman's breasts grow to an abnormally large size. It was first described in 1648, and some doctors believe it occurs when a woman's breasts become large enough to account for 3% of her body weight.

One of the most famous incidents of macromastia is that of Punky Brewster actress Soleil Moon Frye, whose breasts grew rapidly during her mid-teens. Many women and girls who develop macromastia aren't exactly happy with what Mother Nature gave them. But in the world of anime, it's a very different story.

While drawing anime characters can be difficult and takes time to practice, breasts are considered one of the easiest parts to draw. In fact, the hardest part of drawing them is often practicing self-control. And because anime isn't just for children, it's surprisingly easy to go overboard when illustrating these features. This has resulted in many female anime characters with macromastia-esque breasts.

So here are ten such anime characters to start with, and I'm counting on the community to add more.

Tomo Yamanobe - Seikon no Qwaser

Also known as Qwaser of Stigmata, this show has a pretty bonkers premise that I'd rather not discuss. What blows my mind about this series is that it has a Canadian Home Video Rating of only 14+, meaning minors as young as 14 years old in Canada can either buy or rent it. This is definitely one anime you shouldn't let your parents catch you watching, regardless of the age rating.
While Tomo might not have the largest breasts in the series, her role as a main character definitely sets the tone for the anime.
Komoe Harumachi - Eiken

While there are numerous overly busty gals in Eiken, Komoe Harumachi easily stands above the rest. What makes her noteworthy is that she not only has the largest breasts in the anime and the second largest in the manga, but she's also the youngest member of the Eiken club. It's amazing how she's able to do anything when her breasts are practically as big as her whole body.

Milky - Interspecies Reviewers

This is probably one of the most controversial anime ever because it involves a quartet of men as they visit various brothels designed for whatever sexual fetish men desire. Two of the most well-known girls are Milky and Ginny, female minotaurs with massive breasts who work at a brothel called The Dairy Farm. If by some chance this anime gets a second season, I would love to see more of these girls.
Cattleya - Queen's Blade

When it comes to sexual innuendo, Queen's Blade pulls no punches. This is made clear in the first episode when Leina and Melona cross paths. One of the most notable female characters is Cattleya, who has the largest breasts in the series. Despite her appearance, Cattleya is surprisingly strong and can wield a giant sword very easily. In fact, her breasts are so big, her son Lana could probably fit inside one.

Cattleya is at the top of the list when it comes to mind-blowing figures.
Ilulu - Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

I thought Quetzalcoatl's human form had massive breasts. But when Season 2 debuted, Ilulu easily usurped her crown as the bustiest gal in the series. In fact, there was a bit of controversy surrounding her character when the second season was announced, mainly because of how her massive chest contrasts with her small stature.

Wow, the boobs in this anime used to look really huge. Breasts in older ecchi anime in general don't look super huge anymore. I think there's some "breast size blindness" going on, an inflation like the costs of things but with big boobs. I still consider them huge, especially in real life.
Her shirt must be carefully tailored because it actually fits without having the dreaded button gapping that women hate. I think anime fans have gotten desensitized to that, so boobs smaller than their heads are not enough anymore.
I wonder if it's causing less sympathy toward women with big breasts and if it's assumed that they wouldn't cause any pain. Macromastia or gigantomastia probably feels like they're trying to tear themselves apart under their own weight.
Meiko Shiraki - Prison School

They look cold. If she were a real person, it would be hard for her to find stylish shirts in her size and bras that don't have a scary price. Luckily, plus-sized clothing exists.

As the second in command of the Underground Student Council at Hachimitsu Academy, Meiko is also the strongest student and proficient in martial arts. Unlike most anime girls who have macromastia purely for eye candy, Meiko's large breasts are probably what drove her to become who she is today because of how she was bullied over them.
Two recurring running gags are her wardrobe malfunctions and how she sweats profusely when working out or in a state of fear.
Aki Nijou - Maken-Ki!

Maken-Ki! is the story about a male student enrolled in a co-ed school that used to be all female. One of the most notable members of the faculty is the nurse, Aki Nijou. In a flashback in one episode, her breasts started to really develop when she was only 12 years old. Of course, her teenage years have got nothing on how attractive she is now.
Mizuki Tachibana - Gravion

Gravion is one of the earliest ecchi animes, premiering in 2002 and getting a sequel in 2004. One of the more prominent characters is Mizuki Tachibana, the only female adult member of Earthgertz, and it definitely shows. In fact, I once saw an ad in a magazine for this anime that boasted "Gravity Defying Breasts" as part of it.
Here's a fun fact: in the "Angel Blade Punish" anime, there's a character named Hazuki Tachibana who looks exactly like Mizuki. I guess changing one part of the name was enough to avoid getting into copyright-related trouble.

At first glance, you might think Okada is simply in the anime for eye candy. But she proves herself to be a very capable fighter who got into the Kamen Rider series when she was a child. Now, she's a prim and proper high school teacher by day and a crime-fighting tomboy by night.
Unlike Tojima, who only wears a mask, Okada goes all in on the costume, believing herself to be the reincarnation of Electro-Wave Human Tackle, A.K.A. Yuriko Misaki, who was killed in Episode 30 of Kamen Rider Stronger, titled "Goodbye, Tackle! Her Last Activity!!". The episode where Tojima and Okada duke it out is the stuff of legends.

Nami is a fictional character in the One Piece franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. She is the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates and is known for her skills in cartography, navigation, and theft. Her character design was inspired by Ann and Silk, two characters from Oda's earlier work Romance Dawn.

Nami's breasts were actually pretty small when the series started, but now they're huge. If 4Kids found out about how big her breasts would become, it wouldn't have been pretty for the fans.

I've always loved her lovely hair and earrings. She's very pretty. I guess I don't blame many of these characters (on the list) for not wearing actual practical shirts. They wouldn't look like shirts at all because they'd appear to have wedge-shaped torsos that look like door stoppers, and shirts that would be expensive from the amount of fabric needed to comfortably cover them! They do look cold, though. Button-up shirts are dreaded by women with medium to large busts (in real life) because of the gap it creates. Flat female anime characters could save lots of money.

She really is actually and truly a kind, caring, and loving woman. It was her past and what those sick bastards, the Celestial Dragons, did to her and her sisters, Sandersonia and Marigold, that made Boa Hancock very cold, closed off, and unable to trust anyone. What she and her sisters went through at the hands of those monsters was horrible.

Holy cow, I mean horse. If she's wearing a bra, it looks like the straps would snap her collarbones. If she's not, they would probably be stretching painfully, I'm guessing.
The horse portion of her body could be stopping her from nearly tipping over or being lowered to the ground. If she doesn't sleep upright like a horse, she would only get short breaks from it.
