Top 10 Best Jujutsu Kaisen Characters
Jujutsu Kaisen has no shortage of characters who can steal a scene in seconds. Some are hilarious, some are terrifying, and some make you sit there for a full minute after an episode ends because they just did something completely insane. The best ones are not just strong fighters. They have style, attitude, weird habits, sharp dialogue, and the kind of screen presence that makes every arc more fun to watch.
This list is for the characters who keep the series electric from start to finish. From cool-headed strategists to total chaos merchants, the cast is stacked with fan favorites for very good reason. Picking the best is tough, but that is half the fun.

Satoru Gojo
Who else could beat him as the best? His personality hides a deeper mindset. He acts playful and arrogant, but he's highly strategic and deeply cares about his students! His humor is partly a coping mechanism and partly confidence in his overwhelming ability. His relaxed attitude disappears instantly in serious situations.
I love how deep he is, and he is the best one on the entire list other than Toji! Gojo's overwhelming strength is his greatest isolation, forcing him to act as a stoic pillar while hiding his emotional pain, particularly after losing his only equal, Suguru Geto. He is deeply flawed and sometimes selfish, yet his dedication to nurturing a new generation to change the system shows his hidden compassion. He would risk it all for Yuta, Megumi, Nobara, Panda, and Yuji!
-
Yuji Itadori
Yuji is emotionally intelligent and psychologically complex. He understands others' pain deeply, constantly questions morality, death, and responsibility, and develops a very grounded, human philosophy about life. He may act simple, but he's one of the most mentally layered characters in the series. His growth depends on training, not just Sukuna. Sukuna adds danger, not free power. His positivity is something he fights to maintain, not his default state.
He is a unique protagonist who went through the most in the show. He lost so many people he cared for and got the curse of living forever.
-
Megumi Fushiguro
Megumi is actually one of the most talented and dangerous sorcerers of his generation, naturally, not plot-armored and carried by plot like Maki and Yuji. Even top-tier characters recognize Megumi's potential. Key moments show he can break free and go all out. Gojo sees equal or even greater potential in Megumi than with Yuji, maybe not Yuta's level, though. Gojo treats Megumi differently because his potential is unique.
Yes!!!!! The best character in the whole manga and show! This guy is the one truly amazing character! He has wonderful development and really complements the story.
-
Ryomen Sukuna
The best villain in the series and the second-best character, just behind Gojo. Sukuna is highly intelligent, calculating, and observant, more so than half of the cast. He understands cursed techniques at an elite level and plans long-term strategies, not just chaos. He enjoys watching people struggle and break, and he destroys, but often with a purpose. He represents pure, unapologetic natural selection.
Sukuna is the best villain because he's the perfect blend of ancient evil, god-tier power, predatory charisma, and narrative centrality, while the other villains are basically side quests. The King of Curses vs. idiots like Jogo, Uro, and Ryu? A whole other level! He's the only villain who feels like a final boss. The others never one-shot special grades or fought Gojo!

Nobara Kugisaki
Nobara's harshness is tied to her resentment toward gender expectations, her fear of losing herself, and her refusal to be boxed in. Her personality is tied to her pressure and the way she sees herself. I love her badass personality. Besides, she's adorable! Nobara constantly wrestles with femininity vs. strength and belonging vs. independence. She's such a deep character!
Nanami saving Nobara is a defining emotional moment that really hurt me to see both Nobara and Nanami suffer, especially since he does not come back. Nanami saving Nobara from Haruta is the point that made me look up to Nanami. He can be harsh, but he's a gentleman.
-
Toge Inumaki
He's so cute and adorable!
-
Maki Zenin
Maki and Mai are deliberate narrative contrasts. Maki represents defiance and effort, and Mai represents trauma, pressure, and forced roles. Their relationship is about emotional conflict, not "who's better," because Mai has better self-control, she's the feminine, pretty sister, and doesn't lash out at people, but Maki's more powerful and more dominant. People need to stop making Maki have submissive fan art as well when Maki's assertive as a character, and she does not have a bigger chest, so the fan art she has is garbage.
Maki is a badass! I love how she talks down to men and is a more dominant female lead.
-
Kento Nanami
He protects civilians first, always. He's not lazy or cold. His calm tone hides a strong sense of responsibility. He separates work from personal life to stay sane, hates exploitative systems that overwork people, and values fairness and balance, not laziness. He may not be flashy, but he's deadly and dependable. His Ratio Technique guarantees critical hits.
Nanami is the reluctant guardian who'd do the best for the students, even if he does not show it. Nanami is deeply traumatized, emotionally exhausted, and wants to be left alone, but he STILL tries and shows up when it matters. He is the adult who keeps going despite everything.
-
Panda
Panda is not a panda!
-
Yuta Okkotsu
Yuta is one of the strongest modern sorcerers, so people treat him like he "stole" power from their faves. He didn't. He trained. He suffered. He earned it. Besides, he's so sweet, kind, loyal, and soft-spoken!
Yuta is one of the best and most compelling characters in the series. Yuta has a highly cerebral fighting style. He effectively utilizes his vast arsenal, adapting on the fly and plotting out major battles.
Why is someone like Yuta behind people like Panda and Maki? They are the most meh characters ever, but Yuta, on the other hand, is a great character and is not a rip-off of Panda and is not the cockiest person ever to exist.

Takako Uro

Aoi Todo

Suguru Geto
Geto started as one of the most morally driven characters. He genuinely believed sorcerers should protect non-sorcerers and had a strong sense of justice and empathy. Geto's ideology is rooted in trauma and disillusionment as well. He constantly witnessed sorcerers suffering and dying. That's why he began to see the system as unfair and exploitative. He shows kindness and protection toward those he considers "his people."
He was forced to kill curses born from human suffering. He did not become evil for no reason. Geto watched innocent people die constantly, saw sorcerers treated as disposable tools, watched Riko get hunted to die, and snapped after seeing a village torture two girls.
-
Mahito
Goated villain.
-
Kasumi Miwa
-
Junpei Yoshino
-
Toji Fushiguro
Why is he behind people like stupid Mai? She is the worst person in all of Jujutsu Kaisen. She sucks, and the only bad thing Toji did was not pay child support, and he is almost as broke as a 5-year-old, so for me, I can forgive him. And don't get me started on Yuji's dumb and useless grandpa.
Toji's just a beast, with zero plot armor on his side, unlike with Megumi and Maki, and he's a badass!
Toji is the only character in the show without plot armor, by the way!
-
Choso
I love how close he is with his brother!
Choso's so cute!
Bro, why is he so low? He is a W.

Mai Zenin

Hiromi Higuruma

Kirara Hoshi

Wasuke Itadori

Kenjaku
Kenjaku is such an interesting villain with cruel motives that make him stand out as a villain.
Can be a mommy and a daddy.
-
Yuki Tsukumo
Yuki deliberately stays outside the jujutsu system, not because she's lazy, but because she rejects it. She doesn't believe fighting curses endlessly solves the root problem. She chooses to work independently on a bigger solution. She's thinking about the future of humanity, not just battles. She challenges the core of the entire system.
The only and biggest mommy, and she also has the best chest!

Shoko Ieiri
