Top 10 Worst Female Naruto Characters
Vote for the most annoying or irritable female of the series.

Sakura Haruno
Sakura Haruno is one of the primary heroines of the series Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden. She is the only female ninja in Team Seven, which originally consists of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and their sensei Kakashi Hatake. Her family includes her mother, Mebuki Haruno, and her father, Kizashi Haruno... read more
You guys claim she's useless and trash but just grow up. Later in the series, she trains under Tsunade, one of the Legendary Sannin, and becomes a highly skilled medical ninja with impressive super strength.
Fans who appreciate her character point to these later contributions as evidence of significant development, arguing that she moved past her initial helplessness to become a vital, powerful member of Team 7 capable of holding her own in battle and providing essential medical support, saving many lives during the Pain and War Arc. Sakura is canonically the strongest or top kunoichi. She's not useless.
Sakura Haruno is honestly the perfect example of wasted potential and extreme annoyance. She starts off as a character who seems like she could develop into something solid, but instead, she spends most of her time being a selfish brat obsessed with Sasuke. She acts like her entire life revolves around him, even though he clearly does not care about her. She really needs to find a purpose beyond chasing after a guy.
Her personality is so irritating it could make a rock cry. She constantly whines, cries, screams, and throws tantrums like a spoiled child. Instead of building up real combat skills early on, she mostly depends on others to protect her. That is especially ironic, considering she keeps bragging about how strong she is. She often freezes in serious battles and ends up being about as useful as a screen door on a submarine when the team needs her most.
Her selfishness is also obvious in the way she treats her friends. She becomes so absorbed in her feelings for Sasuke that she neglects or ignores people who genuinely care about her, like Naruto. Her character growth mostly involves learning to punch really hard and heal people, but emotionally she is still stuck in middle school drama. She acts like the whole world should care about her love life.
To be honest, her so-called "love" for Sasuke is borderline toxic. She worships him even though he treats her terribly. That is not love, it is desperation disguised as a crush. Other female characters in the series actually have depth, goals, and personalities. Sakura, on the other hand, feels like a one-dimensional character who cannot keep up with her own story arc.

Kaguya Otsutsuki
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki is a fictional character from the Naruto manga and anime franchise created by Masashi Kishimoto. She is portrayed as the first wielder of chakra and is the mother of Hagoromo and Hamura Ōtsutsuki. Kaguya serves as the final antagonist of the original series.
She was introduced as the ultimate origin of chakra, the mother of all shinobi, and this cosmic-level threat that should've been the climax of the entire Naruto saga. The idea of a godlike being whose power transcends everything was exciting, promising a battle on a scale nobody had seen before.
But the execution? Totally underwhelming.
Kaguya's character was vague, mysterious, and honestly pretty dull. She didn't get any real personality or motivation beyond "I want to take back chakra" and "I'm super evil." There was no backstory fleshing out why she became that way, no emotional connection to the rest of the story, and no exploration of her worldview or conflicts. She felt like a last-minute final boss added to raise the stakes without meaningful development.
Her fights were flashy, sure, but also confusing and stretched thin, lacking the emotional weight and clever strategy that made previous battles so memorable. Instead of being a layered villain like Madara or even Obito, Kaguya was more of a power dump, all raw strength without substance.

Karin Uzumaki
She has a very pathetic obsession with Sasuke when she knows nothing about him other than the fact that he wants revenge against Itachi. She does not understand his pain or his life. She was frequently portrayed as a "crazy fangirl" whose only motivations revolved around Sasuke, leading to annoying dialogue and uncomfortable scenes, such as trying to "cop a feel" while he was sleeping. How is what Sakura does considered harassment when you look at Karin over here?
Beyond her love for Sasuke, she is often seen as loud, bossy, and violent toward others, especially Suigetsu, while being whiny or submissive around Sasuke, which is just annoying. People need to stop hating Tsunade for punching Jiraiya when she at least has a reason to. Before joining Sasuke, she was a sadistic warden under Orochimaru, helping with human experimentation, which made her unlikeable from the start, to be honest.

Hinata Hyuga
Hinata Hyuga is a fictional character in the anime and manga franchise Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. She is a member of the Hyuga clan and known for her gentle personality and Byakugan ability. Over the series, she grows from a shy ninja into a confident fighter and later marries Naruto Uzumaki... read more
Hinata's only defining trait is her love for Naruto, rendering her a "simp" rather than a fully developed character. Her dialogue is often reduced to repeating "Naruto-kun" to the point of being tedious. She frequently fails to stand up for herself or others, avoiding conflict until Neji pointed out her lack of conviction. Overrated.
While seen as a "heroic" moment by many, the Pain incident is criticized by others as "reckless" and "selfish" (as she admitted), acting as a suicidal confession rather than a strategic fight, which actually made things harder for Naruto.
Almost all her inner monologues and motivations center solely on "Naruto-kun," especially when it came to Shippuden. She rarely takes action for her own personal goals, instead acting only for Naruto's benefit. Despite being in the main branch of a prestigious clan, she remains mediocre in combat from beginning to end.
Hinata, for the most part, is selfish. She put the clan's responsibility on her younger sister. She has no will of her own.

Tenten
Tenten is one of the main supporting characters in the Naruto anime and manga series, as well as in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. She is a skilled kunoichi from Konohagakure and a member of Team Guy alongside Neji Hyuga and Rock Lee. Tenten specializes in weapon-based combat and uses scrolls to summon... read more
Literally the only two things she did were losing to Temari and controlling the Sage of Six Paths weapons. She only used those weapons in filler episodes anyway. Imagine failing to control a fan like this? She's like a prestige background character or even filler herself, because who did she impact? Nobody.
I don't agree with people who call her a weapon master either. That sounds like an informed ability. I've seen more mastery from Sasuke with some shuriken at the age of five. She's really bland and doesn't have much of a personality. Her abilities are pretty lame, and she seems inadequate next to Lee, Neji, and Gai.
She is the most useless character in all of Naruto and has less relevance than even Udon. What was her personality beyond being some NPC you would see in GTA? Was it obsessing over Neji like her life depended on it or getting mad every time nobody used her? Why would people expect something good out of trash with no clan, no known family, or with the most bland and ugly design? She had no skill besides throwing weapons around like she can use them. She was just a character who got defeated by anyone else in battle and someone who only existed to be an extra background character. Nobody ever cared about her useless self who did nothing to the story. She was only in the story because the show needed more female characters.
Tenten is fodder, and in the manga, she's worse. All she did during the exams was comment on every little thing Neji did and brag about him, yet people claim she's an independent female? Seriously, Neji saves her in any fight Tenten does appear in. She wanted to be like Tsunade so badly but gave up once she realized she had little chakra, poor chakra control, and she sucked at healing. Tenten had the least development ever, and I just skip any filler this trash was in.

Ino Yamanaka
Ino Yamanaka is a fictional character from the manga and anime franchise Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. She is a member of Team 10 alongside Shikamaru Nara and Choji Akimichi. Ino specializes in mind-related jutsu and is also part of the Yamanaka clan.
In Part 1 and early Shippuden, if her Mind Transfer missed, her body was left defenseless. This made her a "liability" in high-stakes, fast-paced fights, limiting her screen time to support roles.
Ino didn't get enough individual fights or arcs to showcase her growth, with her role often reduced to being a "fangirl" in the early series and a background support character later.
Ino was portrayed as shallow, focused on boys (Sasuke), and frequently quarreled with Sakura. Her behavior in early episodes felt superficial to many fans.
In terms of pure physical strength, Ino was one of the lowest in the Konoha 11 and has the worst durability and combat score out of all of them.
-
Temari
Temari is a fictional character in the anime and manga series Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. She is a skilled ninja from the Hidden Sand Village and is known for her use of a giant fan in battle. Temari later marries Shikamaru Nara, a ninja from the Hidden Leaf Village.
While her brothers were humbled, Temari often maintained an arrogant "I'm better than you" attitude without getting the same comeuppance, acting as the "queen bee" while Kankuro acted as the suck-up to Gaara. Gaara, at least, is actually useful and powerful. Temari is not.
Temari was reduced to a tired, angry stereotype. She is frequently shown hitting her husband, Shikamaru, and their son, Shikadai, using her massive fan to violently blast them around for minor infractions, like not coming to dinner on time. She rarely speaks to her husband or son with affection, choosing instead to nag, shout, or threaten them. She is just as bad as Chi-Chi from Dragon Ball, but more useless and pathetic. Her character often relies on being "mean" to appear tough, which can feel unearned compared to other characters who actually show development.
-
Kurenai Yuhi
Kurenai Yūhi is a supporting character in the Naruto and Boruto series. She is a jōnin-level kunoichi from Konohagakure and specializes in genjutsu. Kurenai leads Team Kurenai, which includes Hinata Hyūga, Shino Aburame, Kiba Inuzuka, and Akamaru.
She tried to use an illusion on a man with a Mangekyo Sharingan, who is widely considered the best Genjutsu user in the series. She was immediately countered, humiliated, and beaten. This made her look incompetent and stupid. Why would she do this? Outside of that one fight, Kurenai has no notable battles. While other Jonin like Kakashi, Guy, and Asuma got to showcase their skills, fight antagonists, or have dedicated character arcs, Kurenai did nothing at all. Pathetic character. She became essentially non-existent for most of the show. She was immediately written out of the plot by becoming pregnant and staying on the sidelines, meaning she was not involved in any high-stakes combat during the Akatsuki threat, leaving her with no opportunities to redeem herself.
She was hyped as the Leaf Village's top Genjutsu user, but she never proved it. This creates frustration, as she could have been a useful character, for example, training Sakura in Genjutsu, but was instead wasted.
-
Tsunade
Tsunade is a fictional character from the Naruto manga and anime franchise. She was created by Masashi Kishimoto and is one of the Legendary Sannin. Tsunade is known for her medical skills, superhuman strength, and her leadership as the Fifth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village.
Tsunade is massively overrated. Yeah, she's one of the legendary Sannin and one of the greatest medical ninjas ever, but a lot of the hype feels inflated by nostalgia.
Outside of her healing skills and brute strength, her personality is often annoying. She's stubborn, short-tempered, and constantly gambling like it's her main hobby. Her character development stalled pretty early, and honestly, she's kind of a mess when it comes to leadership. Just look at how chaotic the Leaf gets under her watch.
Also, her "strength" mostly comes down to raw power punches. It's cool, but not nearly as creative or strategic compared to other fighters. Plus, her emotional baggage around losing people keeps dragging her down without much growth.

Konan
Konan is a fictional character from the Naruto universe, created by Masashi Kishimoto. She is a founding member of the Akatsuki organization and the only female member in the group's original core. The Naruto franchise includes manga, anime series, original video animations, feature films, video games... read more

Fuka
I'm glad we don't see this filler garbage again! She's so annoying and just plain idiotic.
-
Shizune
Like, for real, what did she even do besides walk behind Tsunade, hold a pig, and look constantly stressed like someone's overworked intern? People love to say "OMG she almost killed Kabuto!!" but baby, "almost" only counts in horseshoes and ninja filler. Kabuto got up like nothing happened and bodied her moments later. That's not a flex. That's a flop.
She was supposed to be a medical-nin, right? Yet somehow, she managed to be less relevant than the hospital staff we never even saw. She was literally just there to go, "Tsunade-sama, don't drink!" or "Tsunade-sama, you can't gamble!" Like, shut up? Let the Hokage slay in peace. Tsunade was a badass legend with slug summons, super strength, Hokage status, and the ability to heal entire armies. Then here comes Shizune just nagging and contributing nothing except side comments and nervous energy.
The fact that people say she's "underrated" is wild. You can't be underrated when you never rated in the first place.
And don't even get me started on her design. She's out here looking like a plain fill-in character with main cast ambitions. You could literally replace her with a clipboard and a talking pig and nothing in the story would change.

Chocho Akimichi
Chocho Akimichi somehow inherited every single annoying trait from her parents: Choji's laziness and obsession with food, and Karui's loudmouth attitude and ego. But she didn't get a single ounce of their likability, charm, or growth. Choji may have been obsessed with snacks, but at least he was loyal, selfless, and matured beautifully over time. Karui was fiery, but she had backbone, heart, and a strong sense of responsibility. Chocho, on the other hand, acts like the world revolves around her. She's entitled, self-absorbed, and constantly treats serious ninja missions like her own personal spotlight for drama.
Let's not ignore her delusions either. She walks around like she's a main character in some fashion magazine, constantly fishing for compliments, fantasizing about love interests, and whining about her appearance. As if any of that matters when people are literally out here trying to kill each other. And remember her little phase where she thought she was adopted because she couldn't possibly be Choji's daughter? Like, girl, your clan has a known body type. Instead of respecting her parents or clan legacy, she acted like she was above it all, even though she didn't have the skills to back up her attitude.
What's worse is that unlike her dad, who never needed to brag and still came through when it mattered, Chocho talks big and delivers little. She's all bark, no bite. Her combat scenes are forgettable, her personality is grating, and her priorities are out of whack. In a world where kids are expected to grow into capable shinobi, Chocho is out here treating every situation like it's an episode of Keeping Up with the Akimichis.

Kushina Uzumaki
Kushina Uzumaki is a fictional character from the manga and anime franchise Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. She is the mother of the series' protagonist, Naruto Uzumaki, and the wife of Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage. Kushina was also the second jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails.
In all full honesty, I don't really care for her. Yeah, sure, her sacrifice was beautiful and sad, but personality-wise she lacks. Like Temari, she is another always-angry girl.
Also, what kind of father sees a girl abuse his son and says she reminds him of his wife with a nervous smile? Doesn't that pretty much mean the wife in question has issues?
People love her because her only portrayal was as a motherly character. Though what kind of mother meets her son she's never met and her first reaction is to hit him? They don't realize that personality-wise, she is canonically the same as the Sakura they hate so much.
Because she was the cause of Minato's death and the destruction of Konoha by the Nine-Tailed Fox.
I wish she had died during childbirth because she was the jinchuriki of the Kyuubi. She was a total disaster for her husband and Konoha. I don't like her. I respect her only because of Minato. She's the wife of Minato. She doesn't deserve any respect. Sorry!
-
Sarada Uchiha
Sarada Uchiha is a fictional character in the Naruto manga by Masashi Kishimoto. She is the daughter of Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno. Sarada is a central character in the sequel series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, where she is a member of Team 7.
Sarada was a spoiled child. Sasuke was out here saving the world, and when he came back, she got frustrated at everything he tried to do. This weakling coward of an Uchiha does not deserve any of the hype she gets. She isn't even better than Boruto.

Anko Mitarashi
Anko Mitarashi is a fictional character from the manga and anime franchise Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. She is a kunoichi from Konohagakure and a former student of Orochimaru. Anko plays a supporting role throughout the series and is known for her energetic personality and snake-related jutsu... read more
Anko's hype is way overblown, and honestly, she's pretty edgy and cringe most of the time. The series tries to paint her as this mysterious, cool ex-Orochimaru disciple with a dark past, but instead she often comes off as trying way too hard to be "badass." Her edgy attitude feels forced, like she's stuck in a permanent "emo ninja" phase, complete with sarcastic quips and creepy smiles that don't land as well as they want to.
Personality-wise, she's not very deep, mostly just a mix of snark, bitterness, and some awkward obsession with Orochimaru's legacy that feels more uncomfortable than interesting. She doesn't get much development beyond that, so it's hard to connect or root for her.
Her fights are alright but never memorable enough to justify the hype. And let's be honest, she's kind of a walking cringe fest when she's trying to be dark and mysterious but just ends up feeling like a caricature of an edgy villain.

Moegi Kazamatsuri
She just exists. She's alright but lacked character. It's better than being like TenTen and Karin though.
She doesn't do much but is still better than TenTen and Sakura.
-
Matsuri
Matsuri is one of those characters who feels like a total afterthought. She barely makes any impact, and honestly, she's just plain weak compared to the rest of the cast. Her skills are underdeveloped, and she doesn't get any real moments to shine or prove herself. It's like the writers gave her a ninja outfit and forgot to give her anything meaningful to do.
She doesn't inspire fear, respect, or even sympathy. She just kind of drifts around as background filler. Matsuri's presence doesn't add any tension or excitement, so yeah, if she disappeared tomorrow, no one would really care.
Bruh, Matsuri's so forgettable that even hardcore Naruto fans are like, "Wait, who?" She's the definition of a background extra, showing up once in a while just to remind you she exists, but never actually doing anything worth remembering.
Compared to TenTen, who at least had some spotlight with her weapon mastery (even if she still sucked), Matsuri is basically ninja wallpaper. No big fights, no memorable lines, just pure filler energy.
Honestly, Matsuri might be the most unnecessary character in the whole series. She's so useless, she makes TenTen look like a legend.

Rin Nohara
-
Karui
I hate her too much. She hurt Naruto too much and punched him hard because of Sasuke or for no reason.
Then she became the wife of Choji and the mom of Chocho. She is the most annoying character of the series, and I hate this female character too much.
-
Chiyo
Chiyo is the reason WHY Gaara is alive and not dead. She's one of the best females, along with Konan and Tsunade!
-
Guren
-
Kin Tsuchi
She's hot and she made Sakura look like an idiot, but she's more support and distraction than actual battle.
-
Hanabi Hyuga
Hanabi is the textbook definition of overhyped side character syndrome. Like seriously, why was this brat always mad? What was she so pressed about? Hinata was over here being kind, gentle, and actually developing, and Hanabi's whole personality was "grrr I'm better than you," like some angsty 8-year-old with a superiority complex.
What feats did Hanabi even have? Blink and you miss her in the series. All her "glory" comes from Boruto, where she's suddenly this elite jonin, but like... based on what? A bunch of flashbacks and family name privilege? She's the ninja equivalent of being born into nepotism.
And don't even get started on her becoming the head of the Hyuga clan. That title should've gone to Hinata, who actually showed growth, compassion, and leadership potential, not this bitter little arrogance who spent more time scowling than contributing to the plot.

Hanare
