Recently I saw him on PBS' Louisiana Legends and man he tell us about his glory days with the Knicks and how his coaching career was different than his great playing days. 1969-70 was his season as a player as he was named the All-Star Game MVP. the NBA MVP, the Sporting News NBA MVP, the NBA Finals MVP and ABC's Wide World of Sports Athlete of the Year and yes the Knicks won the NBA Championship and a moved Howard Cosell told Reed on National TV "You exemplify the very best that the human spirit has to offer."
