By the way, they aren't a metal band. But rush had some metal licks in their solos. (or very close to metal). But still I wouldn't consider a band to a metal band just for one or two metal licks. Plus those licks were very few compared to their songs. - zxm

@Powerfultekin - I don't know who added Rush but it wasn't me. Rush are on the EM website for their early material - "heavy metal (early)". Some early Rush songs were probably metal or close to metal but this doesn't mean all their songs are metal. - Metal_Treasure

Their old songs were aimed for metal,but in the end it turned hard rock.and they are known for their hard rock music in the early era
