Bands Who Deserve a Self Titled Guitar Hero / Rock Band Game

All these bands deserve to have a self titled game the most. They've done a lot in their career and have a lot of songs suitable for GH or RB. This list does NOT include bands who already have a self themed GH or RB game.

The Top Ten Bands Who Deserve a Self Titled Guitar Hero / Rock Band Game

1 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums). The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition more.

Although it will never happen due to Robert Plant not wanting to be remember for 1 song, Zeppelin still deserves one more than any other band. So many people listen to so many of they're songs. Stairway TO Heaven is arguably the biggest song of the 70's. They're the 4th biggest selling band of all time and people still wear the 1971 U. S. Tour t-shirts. - gotamu

This would be great but would also mean the company that releases it has the right to their songs and the other can't put it on their networks and maybe not even in their games

I've read that the reason why Led Zeppelin (my favourite band) songs are not even on one Guitar Hero is because Jimmy Page has said that if anyone wants to play the guitar, he has to buy a real one and to learn to play a real one
I completely agree - Rocker00

How come Aerosmith has their own GH game but not Led Zeppelin?! - SoloPotato

2 AC/DC AC/DC are a Australian hard rock band, formed in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who continued as members until Malcolm's illness and departure in 2014 . They were fronted by Bon Scott until his untimely death due to alcohol poisoning in 1979, after which they hired Brian Johnson more.

Everyone talks about "Thriller" and how it sold 50 million copies. Everyone says that no album is even close in sales to "Thriller". Apparently "everyone" forgets that "Back In Black", AC/DC's 1980 album sold 48 million copies and was the biggest selling album for 4 years. AC/DC is one of those trademark bands. A lot of people that listen to only pop, rap, country, etc have at least heard the name AC/DC and know they exist. That's pretty remarkable to be able to say that. But they're not just a famous name, they're one of the greatest bands of all time. Back In Black is one of the most recognizable guitar rifts ever and also one of the most commercially sucssesful Hard Rock songs ever. AC/DC is also one of only 2 bands to lose the original vocalist and be more successful with the 2nd vocalist. - gotamu

Who the HELL put linkin park on here? And WHY isn't ACDC at first place? I'm Linkin Park fan myself but I know they don't come close to any of the bands on this list, much less than ACDC. Comparing them to ACDC would make them be around some sort of weekend assistant roadie for ACDC. ACDC FOREVER!

Everybody thinks taylor swift and her fearless or some other crap has gone platnum "so many times" howevery nobody knows AC/DCs Back In Black has gone platinum too many times too count taylor swifts has gone platinum around 3times

The Live One For Rock Band Is Good But It's A Track Pack So Its Not A Full Game Which Is Sad They Should Have Their Own Full Game Like Green Day Rock Band - mneilan

3 Iron Maiden Iron Maiden are an English Heavy Metal / Hard Rock band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. The most critically acclaimed period for the band was from 1983-1989. With vocalist Bruce Dickinson, bassist Steve Harris, lead guitarist Dave Murray, rhythm more.

They influenced pretty much every metal band. MAIDEN RULES! UP THE IRONS!

No, they were a band that was influenced by the band that influenced pretty much every metal band: Judas Priest. - HeavyMetalHero

4 Queen Queen are an English rock band formed in 1970. Members were Freddie Mercury (Vocals and Piano), Brian May (Guitar, Vocals), Roger Taylor (Drums, Vocals), and John Deacon (Bass Guitar, Vocals). Before forming into Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had played together in a band named Smile. Freddie Mercury more.

They certainly have enough songs. They should make a Rock Band for them now! I love Queen and their legacy deserves a little... You know, help. Because some people still don't know who Queen is. And if ANY ONE adds Justin Beeper, I will destroy the world. Thanks

Very popular with some extremely famous songs, but also have enough guitar work to warrant a whole game. They have a "SingStar" game, but should have one of these too. - Scretty_MUFC

They don’t? :O - Misfire

5 Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band. more.

I'm not a big fan of Nirvana. My favorite genres are Hair Metal, Arena Rock, and Thrash Metal. Nirvana killed 2 of those and the other hasn't been the same since. Non-the-less Nirvana was very important band and had Kurt Cobain not died Nirvana could've easily been the next Beatles. They were a little of a cult type band; they had 4 or 5 big hits and every other song was considered a hit to they're die hard fans. Nirvana completely changed music and. 00's Rock and even 00's Pop is influenced by Nirvana's Grunge style of music. - gotamu

6 Linkin Park Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The members currently include Mike Shinoda (vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Brad Delson (guitar), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bass), Joe Hahn (DJ) and Rob Bourdon (drums). Linkin Park are associated with a mixture of Alternative more.

You guys must be the 1st

7 Red Hot Chili Peppers The Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American funk-rock and alternative rock band, that was founded in 1983. more.

definitely - Himalayansalt

8 The Rolling Stones The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. The first settled line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums). more.

From 1964 on, THe Stones have always been one of the most popular Rock bands. They're combination of blues and punk-ish rock N' roll is very hard to pull off successfully, but they did it. Mick Jaggar is without a doubt the best preformer in music ever. - gotamu

The Stones are legendary and they have a lot of great and diverse songs, so it would be very interesting to have a game about them. - Velilana

This could be a nice counter to the Beatles Rockband. A long career and plenty of songs.

9 Guns N' Roses Guns N' Roses is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles formed in 1985. The classic lineup, as signed to Geffen Records in 1986, consisted of vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. Apart from hard rock they are also more.

Known as "the most dangerous band of all time" GNR is a very recognizable band. VH1 names "Welcome To The Jungle" as the #1 Hard Rock Song of al time. On that list are songs like "Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin", and "Walk This Way - Aerosmith", etc. To be #1 on that list is a high accomplishment. But Welcome To The Jungle (#7) isn't even they're highest charting song. Sweet Child O'Mine (#1), Paradise City (#5), and November Rain (#2) all charted higher. "Sweet Child O' Mine" is one of the greatest guitar songs of all time. "Rolling Stone" has "Welcome To The Jungle", "Sweet Child O' Mine", and "Paradise City" on it's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. - gotamu

One of my favorite songs ever is Sweet Child o'mine. Welcome to the Jungle and paradise City are really good too. - booklover1

Oh Guns N' Roses! They may be FnO (fat & old) now, but aren't we all a little fat and older? Sweet Child... is my favourite intro EVER. And always will be.

10 Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band, that was formed 1999 in California. Their longest lineup of members was M. Shadows (Vocals), Synyster Gates (Lead Guitar), Zacky Vengeance (Rhythm Guitar), Johnny Christ (Bass Guitar), and The Rev (Drums). more.

I would scream (pun intended) if they made this a thing

This game would be hard

The Contenders

11 Megadeth Megadeth is an American thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California. Megadeth was formed in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, shortly after Mustaine was fired from Metallica. They have released 15 studio albums to date, and have gone through many lineup changes, with Dave more.

Part of the thing with Megadeth is singer/lead guitarist Dave Mustaine was the original Metallica guitarist and he quit to make his own band. Well ok... so what? The full story of it is Metallica has a self themed GH and Metallica's Kirk Hammet is looked at by a lot of people as better than Dave, but from what we've seen with "THis Day We Fight", "Sudden Death", and "Holy Wars... The Punishment DUe" (all by Megadeth) we can tell that Mustaine is the better guitarist, that of which he's been trying to prove for about 30 years unsuccessfully. A GH Megadeth would probably finally show who's the better guitarist (this is coming from a guy with 87 Metallica songs on his ipod) - gotamu

12 Bon Jovi Bon Jovi is a hard rock band formed in 1983, which had a streak of successful albums in the late 1980s. The band originally consisted of lead vocalist Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Ritchie Sambora (left in 2013), bassist Alec John Such (left in 1994), keyboard David Bryan, and drummer Tico Torres. The band's more.

*ehem ehem*

13 The Who The Who is an English rock band formed in London, England in 1964. The most recognizable lineup was Roger Daltrey (lead vocals), Pete Townshend (guitar), John Entwistle (bass guitar), and Keith Moon (drums). They are best known for their live performances and hit songs Baba O'Riley, My Generation, and more.

This would sell, do it!

14 Korn Korn is an American Nu-Metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. The band's current lineup includes founding members Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Brian "Head" Welch, and Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, with the addition of Ray Luzier, who replaced the band's original member, David more.

I still don't understand how Korn doesn't get any attention these days. They ushered in a new genre of music and made Rock cool again at the time when Boy Bands and pop music was taking over the airwaves. With 12 studio albums, they have more than enough material, and unlike most of the bands on this list, their albums' sounds and themes change pretty drastically from album to album. If nothing else, it wouldn't be close to a repetitious sound nor game.

15 Rush Rush was a Canadian progressive rock band that was formed in 1968. Even though the only founding member still in the band is Alex Lifeson (Guitar), the band is most well-known for their current members Neil Peart (Drums) and Geddy Lee (Bass, Vocals). more.

Neil Peart is arguably the best songwriter of all time. He also has without a doubt the best drum set ever and Peart is referred to as the greatest drummer of all time more than any other drummer. Geddy Lee is also one of the if not the best bass player and he's a pretty good singer too. The 3 members of Rush are also the best musicians in a rock band, there is no one else who can preform songs easily with songs that go from 4 beats per measure to 6 bpm to 11 bpm to 2 bpm (cough* Tom Sawyer). - gotamu

Well obviously Led Zeppelin would be the best, but because they would never agree to having their music in a Rock Band/Guitar Hero game, I think Rush is the next best thing.

Definitely except no drummer would be able to do Tom sawyer or la villa stragiato.

ROCK BAND:Rush should be the second best game (After ocarina of time)and if rock band: rush been released I should play bass every time! - daaniel99

16 Whitesnake Whitesnake are a rock band formed in England in 1978 by singer David Coverdale, after his departure from his previous band Deep Purple.

The members are Matt Bellamy (lead vocal, lead guitar, piano, keyboard), Dom Howard (drums, percussion) and Chris Wolstenholme (bass, backing vocals). They've won several awards including 5 MTV Awards, 8 NME Awards, 2 more.

This would be amazing when Drones comes out

20 Deep Purple Deep Purple are an English rock band formed in Hertford in 1968. They are considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock, although their musical approach changed over the years. Originally formed as a progressive rock band, the band shifted to a heavier sound in 1970. Deep Purple, more.

DP is arguably more influential than Zeppelin and the Stones. Ritchie Blackmore inspired Yngwie Malmsteen, who some say is then greatest guitarist ever. He inspired me too but that's not important. It would defiantly be near impossible to play GH/RB Deep Purple cause of how good each member of the band is at the instrument they play - gotamu

Deep Purple is (for me) by far the best band of all time. I think, they are very underrated, cause they've influenced a lot of musicians too. To hear "Child In Time, " "Highway Star, " "Speed King" and all the others is a pleasure for your ears, and should be heard by gods!
But that's just my opinion. ;)

22 Journey Journey is an American rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1973, composed of former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch.

Neal Schon is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. He's is in fact one of the very best. Then everyone knows that Steve Perry is one of the best singers, and Jonathan Cain and Steve Smith are some of the greatest keyboardists (Cain) and drummers (Smith) ever. Journey's labeled genre is Arena Rock, but they have been interpreted as being in a lot of different genres. Before Steve Perry came, they were a Fusion band. "Any Way You Want It" is on VH1's list of the 100 greatest Hard Rock songs of all time, and a lot of Hair Metal radio stations on iTunes play Journey songs. Journey is the only other band that has been more sucsseful with their 2nd vocalist than theyre 1st. - gotamu

Neal Schon is certainly THE most under rated guiarist... EVER!
His musical versatility, his incredibly creative song writing skills,
And the amazing style he created in the early 70's, which caused the birth
Of the "80's guitar solo ", which was copied by so many guitarists, in later years, along with his ability to shred with the best of them, should land him in the top 25 guitarists of all time... And the various styles coverd by Journey, in all the years they have been together seems unmatched by any band

26 Motley Crue Mötley Crüe was an American metal band formed in Los Angeles, California on January 17, 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, lead vocalist Vince Neil and lead guitarist Mick Mars.

Motley Crue is the reason that Hair Metal was the main genre in the 80's. They dominated the Sunset Strip and set a inspiration of clothing for the Hair Metal genre. Tommy Lee can plays his live drum solos in a cage that spins him upside down in a circle at a intense rate, and Lee still plays with accuracy and he never loses any ability to play. - gotamu

Motley is the start of great hair metal.
They set an inspiration to bands to come.
