Best Rock Bands of the 2000s

The Contenders: Page 12

221 New Model Army

British post-punk rockers New Model Army released four studio albums in the 2000s: Eight, Carnival, High, and Today is a Good Day. Especially the final two were fantastic rock albums, classic NMA, and even backed up with American tours. Today is a Good Day is a particularly relevant album about the American economic collapse of 2008, current wars, and reflects on the band's own experiences in the US on the "High" tour, giving their outsiders' perspective on us. I find it a fascinating listen, and NMA certainly belongs up near the top of this list.

222 Journey Journey Journey is an American rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1973, composed of former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch.

227 Relient K

This band is one of the most talented bands you'll ever hear. Every album they write is different style, but it works out every time. They can do literally any style they want. Their lyrics are incredibly deep and lead singer Matt Thiessen has an incredible voice. Their music is full of hooks and changes and they blend rock with piano very well. Their album MMHMM was their mainstream success, and it was loaded with hit songs that were all worthy of singles. No other band compares

'Blacken the cursed sun' - the only song you need.

How the hell is Lamb of God ranked at 189 at the time of my post? P.O.D. is higher? Come on people start listening to some good music. Ashes of the Wake is one of the greatest metal albums of all time.

232 The Delgados

On a list populated with so much garbage, I just had to add this lost gem of an early 2000's alternative rock band.

238 The Vines

Craig is as insane as he is genius... They didn't save rock like predicted, but they have solid albums through the decade. 75% of these bands are from prior decades by the the way. 2000-2010 The Vines... look them up!
