These guys belong on the list. They aren't very well known but they're music and lyrics are absolutely amazing. This list isn't very accurate, although I am big fan of Linkin Park.

Right, the list is way off, my favorites are after top 40, 100, and even 150

My favorite band, but not qualified to be a top 10 alternative rock, but they perform incredibly and have better lyrics than any band I can think of and they could definitely be qualifief for top 150 I-/

This guys are popular now

85 Interpol

Sytlised darkly edged stripped down indie rock, whats not to like. Also without doubt in their original line up, the most visually striking band of the 00's. Vastly underrated except by those that know they're one of the greatest bands in the world...

Natural.. They are just pure. You can identify every guitar type when listening to their music

86 The All-American Rejects The All-American Rejects The All-American Rejects are an American rock band formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1999. The band consists of bassist and lead vocalist, Tyson Ritter, lead guitarist and backing vocalist, Nick Wheeler, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist, Mike Kennerty, and drummer Chris Gaylor.

They have an excellent and unique sound reminiscent of more classic 80's rock and are definitely one of my favorite bands for such songs as "Swing, Swing", "Dirty Little Secret", "It Ends Tonight", and a number of other great hits.

The All-American Rejects and Green Day made me love rock music above all music, they are extremely influential to me and all of my friends as well as my band.

Are you kidding me this is my favorite band! All their songs are hits and they should definitely be at the top! Their songs actually describe real feelings!

Awesome band, got me into punk rock. Pluss I'm still listening in 2016.

87 Weezer Weezer Weezer is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1992, currently consisting of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar), Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner.

That low, really? Weezer is in my opinion at least top 15, they have a sound that isn't too mopey nor too poppy. Rivers Cuomo is a musical genius and deserves more credit.

What the Hell, they Should be up high then a lot of these bands "Each one their Albums are unique in there own way. Blue and Pinkerton are amazing albums from start to finish, lets not forget the guitar solo in Only in Dreams.Lets not forget Green with Island in the Sun and Hash Pipe, I also I thought Red Album was amazing Pork and Beams and the GMWEL And recently Hurley has to be one of their best Albums that they release in awhile.

So many great songs should at least be 15 and above

They have some of the greatest songs of the 2000's, easy.

89 Seether Seether Seether are a South African hard rock band founded in May 1999 in Pretoria, South Africa. The band originally performed under the name Saron Gas until 2002, when they adopted the Seether name.

Shaun has an amazing voice and their lyrics are great. Some of my favorites are Breakdown, Fine Again, Rise Above This, Like Suicide, and Words as Weapons

Are you kidding? This is the band that has carried Nirvana's torch for the last 15 years. They are simply amazing and are legit top 25!

Most of these bands aren't even hard rock
But seether is for sure hard rock. Like suicide
And no resolution are my favorites. Holding
Onto to strings better left to fray is their best
Album. Keep up the good work guys! : )

This band rocks

90 Velvet Revolver Velvet Revolver

They are way too awesome to be 90th :S:S

Simply amazing! my permanent running companion..

Real rock and roll!

91 Trapt Trapt Trapt is an American rock band that formed in Los Gatos, California in 1995, best known for their 2002 single "Headstrong".

Who the hell put Trapt way down here? Trapt is clearly higher ranked then this. Trapt should be up there with Rise Against, Its pretty clear some people need to learn what good music is.

There's so many good bands here that are ranked lower or higher then were they really should be. These rankings are so far fetched!

Whats not to like about this brilliant band! This music can be played in the morning throughout the day! This music moves listeners! Get Real People! All Hail Trapt

I agree many of these slightly older and harder bands didn't get the ratings they deserve

San Antonio, TX bring them on August 9th. Woo-hoo! I will be there to hear and see this great band.

92 The National

This band has released 8 albums in the 2000s and a couple of EPs, and they're all consistently great. It's ridiculous that they are not in the top 10. How is it that bands with one good album are ranked above them.

"About Today" is one of my favorite songs.

93 P.O.D. P.O.D.

One of my favorite bands for ever.

Uhm...P.O. D was most definitely the greatest band of the mid 2000's... This top ten list is stupid.

94 Red Red Red is an American rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2002. The band's lineup consists of singer Michael Barnes, guitarist Anthony Armstrong, and bassist Randy Armstrong.

I love REDs albums. They are the best. Christian music will save this world from darkness. And give us hope. By the way Skillet has some good song but man RED is the best number 1. To me and... May be you.

Really? All the way down here? Red is an awesome band, with awesome instrument synergy, awesome melodies, awesome vocals and awesome messages. You won't be disappointed if you check it out!

Red's music is relatable and full of heart. Every song has a meaning and they are just fabulous. I don't know why they are 87 I mean really. really. They are way more amazing than half the bands above it.

This should at least be in the top 20. RED is my second favorite band behind Breaking Benjamin

95 AFI

... AFI... Enough said, though if I must go on from that. It's ' AFI. While DU wasn't that grand you have to give them props for Art of Drowning and STS, you have to give them props for CL and let's not forget the two new amazing songs they've released so far from the new album. I'd go back further but then it wouldn't be in the 2000's so... Yeah.

What the hell this band is badass it should be somewhere at the top you posers especialy their song miss murder was one of the songs that represented that at rock is alive somewhere that one shed of light

Bowling for soup made the funniest, coolest songs ever. should be top 10

I agree, Bowling For Soup usually does an amazing job, and people overlook their drums and bass in most of their songs. It's sad.

Hi uh bowling for soup should be in at least the top 50?

99 The Darkness

I'm quite surprised the Darkness aren't in the top 25. In reality they are a true rock band. Their sound, dynamic and live performance proves it. Mixing the sounds of Queen, AC/DC and other classic bands, they have brought a great revival in rock music.

Possibly the most unique band on the list?

100 The Dead Weather

Surprised it's here, he'll yeah
