He was best known for his villainous roles in films such as Dracula in the Hammer Horror films, Francisco Scaramanga in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun, Saruman in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, and Count Dooku in the second and third films of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He was also a heavy metal musician who released four albums and three EPs.

Even though he played Saruman in the movies, he still remained a huge fan of the trilogy. He was also the only person in the LOTR film trilogy to meet Tolkien in real life.

I wouldn't say he's a "celebrity" because he's an underground metal musician but I added him because he wrote and sang songs about the LOTR many years before the movie. His track #1 on his debut album was based on the LOTR (Majesty by Blind Guardian, 1988). He also wrote a power ballad called Lord Of The Rings (1990), and several more songs.
I am sure he's a massive fan.
