Top 10 Disney Movie Characters Who Made Things Worse

Not every character is a paragon of wisdom and good decision-making. In fact, some Disney characters are pretty great at making bad situations even worse. You know the ones - characters who, through their careless actions, end up throwing a wrench into their own plans, complicating relationships, or even putting entire kingdoms in jeopardy.

These are the characters from Disney movies who started with good intentions but, due to their impulsive nature or lack of foresight, find themselves in a pickle that makes you shout, "Why did you do that?!" at the screen. These are the characters who often mean well but make choices that lead to spiraling chaos, leaving us to wonder what would have happened if they'd just stopped to think for a moment.
The Top Ten
1 Ariel - The Little Mermaid Princess Ariel is a fictional character and the title character of Walt Disney Pictures' 28th animated film The Little Mermaid.

I really hate picking on Ariel, but her decision to give up her voice for a guy she knows nothing about was just careless. It resulted in Ursula using her as leverage over King Triton, so she could claim his trident and rule the ocean. And just to prove how smart she is, she hides the truth from Melody about her mermaid heritage as well as Ursula's sister Morgana, with more disastrous results.

Mini rant here: If Triton hadn't destroyed her collection like the overprotective father that he is, all because his wife died (like, have you heard of getting remarried?), Ariel would have never agreed to turn into a human and she would still have her voice. Blame it on Triton, not Ariel.

The real bad thing about her is how she lied to Melody about the sea. Now, that is bad parenting.

2 Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible - The Incredibles Robert "Bob" Parr, also known as Mr. Incredible, is the protagonist of The Incredibles and is the deuteragonist of Incredibles 2. He is voiced by Craig T. Nelson.

Mr. Incredible's decision to shun his number one fan would come back to bite him in the butt. Buddy, who became Syndrome, began to resent all superheroes in general and killed off several supers in the process with his machine. Not only that, but he also brought his whole family into the mess after Helen began suspecting that he had been resuming superhero work behind her back.

3 Joy - Inside Out Joy is the main protagonist of the 2015 Disney/Pixar animated feature film "Inside Out". She is one of the five emotions inside of Riley Andersen's mind and serves as the leader. Hence her name she is very positive and optimistic and wants nothing more but for Riley to be happy.

She pisses me off so much, and just looking at her face makes me mad. I'd rather sit on thorns and watch Fred Coconut Island.

4 Kuzco - The Emperor's New Groove

At the beginning, Kuzco was an arrogant and spoiled Emperor, doing whatever he pleased. After firing Yzma, she seeks revenge by trying to poison him, accidentally turning him into a llama. After Kronk attempts to smuggle him out, Kuzco ends up with Pacha, whom he was very rude to. He wanted to destroy Pacha's home to build his own summer home. After a series of disagreements, Kuzco and Pacha agree to work together. Unfortunately, he alienates himself from Pacha after learning that Yzma and Kronk are looking for him, unaware that they are planning to kill him. He then finds himself alone, with no one to blame but himself.

5 Jack Skellington - The Nightmare Before Christmas

Bored with the same Halloween tradition, Jack decides to take over the Christmas holiday season and put his own spin on things. In the process, he has Oogie Boogie's kids kidnap Santa so he can take his hat. Then the kids send him to Oogie Boogie's place where he gets tortured, and Jack ends up nearly destroying Christmas for everyone.

6 Wilbur Robinson - Meet the Robinsons

After the Bowler Hat Guy steals one of the time machines, after Wilbur carelessly left the garage door open, he then endangers the future. He brings Lewis, who is actually his father from the past, to the future and breaks the only other working time machine. Meanwhile, the Bowler Hat Guy, along with Doris, a rogue invention, attempts to capture Lewis so he can find out how the invention he stole from him works. He wants to pass it off as his own and ruin his future. Things get worse when it's revealed that Lewis is from the past. Worse, Wilbur admits that he had no plans to keep the promise he made to take Lewis back so he can meet his mom. Lewis storms off and helps the Bowler Hat Guy get the memory scanner to work, resulting in destroying the future and Wilbur no longer existing.

7 Shank - Ralph Breaks the Internet

She unwittingly may have destroyed her own game by patching in Vanellope's code, which of course nobody's going to notice or question. Before someone brings up King Candy, there's a difference between arcade games that are only occasionally played by certain people and online games with faithful subscribers. And who knows how much longer said faithful subscribers will remain so, with the new glitch that's made the game unwinnable, therefore taking all the fun out of it for them.

The sole purpose of her existence was to be an enabler, and unlike everyone else, the fact that she was 1) female and 2) portrayed by Gal Gadot did not blind me to that.

If it weren't for her, maybe Vanellope wouldn't have decided to stay in that dumb game and turned further against Ralph.

8 Naveen - The Princess and the Frog

Naveen makes the mistake of trusting Dr. Facilier, who turns him into a frog. After escaping, he gets Tiana involved, turning her into a frog like him. He pleads with her to kiss him so he could return to normal, unaware that she wasn't a real princess, despite Tiana never saying that she's a princess.

9 Vanellope von Schweetz - Wreck-It Ralph

Got bored (really?), broke her game, and fell in love with an uninspired game that's all edge and no substance. She told the (also uninspired) villainess of that game how she felt, instead of Ralph. She broke Ralph's necklace, which she had made for him, out of petty spite. She then decided to stay in the uninspired edgelord game with its uninspired antagonist, who she decided was her new best friend forever. Oh yeah, she also convinced the Disney Princesses to buy from the American Apparel catalog. She put Ralph in one of the dresses they had been convinced to ditch in favor of lame new outfits, and tricked him into kissing a dude for more cheap laughs and shock value.

Why she and Ralph were even on the internet, and why she saw and for some unfathomable reason became enamored of that stupid Grand Theft Auto Online ripoff, not to mention convinced the Disney Princesses to become People of Walmart, is all because she got bored. Why Ralph made all those stupid videos, and why Ralph's pendant is now a stupid "best friends" pendant set that nobody's worn since the mid '90s at the latest - all because she got bored.

10 Anna - Frozen Princess Anna of Arendelle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated film Frozen.

Though it's not her fault - blame her parents - she foolishly falls in love with the first guy she meets, Hans, and plans to marry him almost immediately. When Elsa refuses to give her blessing, she continues to antagonize her. Asking why she shuts everyone else off, she grabs one of her gloves, and Elsa, in anger, shows off her ice powers, resulting in her covering Arendelle in an icy storm.

I wish she had been born to be another canon voiceless deaf-mute instead, which would have served her right for being another annoying loudmouth. I also wish she lacked a canon sister of her own due to her insufferable obnoxiousness.

Another simple commoner, non-royalty peasant, or modern-day girl fits her (Anna) better than Arendelle's forced so-called royal crown princess.

The Contenders
11 Aladdin - Aladdin Aladdin is a fictional character and the protagonist of Disney's 1992 animated feature film Aladdin, and its two direct-to-video sequels The Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

Aladdin pretty much lies about being a prince, and after realizing that he is nothing without the Genie's powers, he is unable to free the Genie as he promised. This results in Genie and Aladdin being on bad terms. Jafar then steals the lamp and wishes to become the most powerful wizard in the world, taking over Agrabah.

12 Alma Madrigal - Encanto
13 Tarzan - Tarzan Tarzan is a fictional character, an archetypal feral child raised in the African jungle by the Mangani great apes; he later experiences civilization only to reject it and return to the wild as a heroic adventurer.
14 Yesss - Ralph Breaks the Internet

She's the one who told Ralph and Vanellope to go into that place called Slaughter Race to begin with. She also convinced Ralph that it paid to make stupid YouTube - sorry, Buzztube - videos.

15 Queen Iduna - Frozen & Frozen II
16 Marlin - Finding Nemo

Though Marlin's overprotectiveness was understandable, it caused his son Nemo to rebel, going off to touch the boat against his wishes and getting captured by the divers.

17 Abuela - Coco
18 Nakoma - Pocahontas

Pocahontas's friend Nakoma is mostly responsible for Kocoum getting killed, thereby almost causing a war between her tribe and the English. This means that if she hadn't told Kocoum where Pocahontas was, then he wouldn't have gotten killed, Smith wouldn't have been captured, and the two sides wouldn't have declared war on each other.

19 Kenai - Brother Bear

He killed Koda's mother for revenge on his brother's death, even though it was kind of his fault. Transformed into a bear, and because of that, Denahi thinks the bear that killed Sitka also killed Kenai. Now he and Koda are constantly chased by him. That is a lot of mistakes.

20 Jake - The Rescuers Down Under

If he had not been made, Bianca would have shown McLeach had she not been caught.

21 Taran - The Black Cauldron
22 Ming Lee - Turning Red
23 Scrooge McDuck - DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp
24 Mei Lee - Turning Red
25 Milo - Mars Needs Moms
