Top 10 Non-Musical Disney Animated Movies
One of the things Disney movies are most well-known for is the songs that accompany them. However, just because a movie is from Disney doesn't mean it has to feature any songs. If you are searching for a Disney movie but don't enjoy it when characters sing - or randomly burst into song - here are a few recommendations.I will also include entries that have songs but not enough to be considered musicals. For example, Big Hero 6 and Meet the Robinsons will count because they contain songs, but not in a way that defines them as musicals. Lilo & Stitch and Bambi can be included as well since their songs are presented in montages. While they feature enough music to border on being musicals, I won't classify them as such.
On the other hand, The Great Mouse Detective won't be included. While it has songs (including one sung by Ratigan and another performed by a lounge singer), the musical aspect isn't prominent enough. Additionally, to qualify for this list, the movie must be fully animated, which means Who Framed Roger Rabbit is disqualified because of its live-action elements.
Finally, the movie must be purely Disney, so no Pixar films will be included - no matter how much you might want to see them here. Most Pixar movies don't feature songs anyway, other than Coco. Feel free to let me know if I include an entry that is actually a musical since, while I love Disney, I'm not a hardcore Disney super fan.
Zootopia has the song "Try Everything," sung by one of the characters named Gazelle (Shakira IRL). That's the extent of the musical elements, other than parodied song titles.
Also, the song is played during a concert at the end of the movie, and it's only one song. This movie is also very cool.
The only song that Big Hero 6 has is "Immortals" by Fall Out Boy, but this song plays during a montage. Other than that, this movie doesn't necessarily have any other songs going along with it.
