Top 10 Funniest Characters from Pixar Movies

The Top Ten
  1. Dory (Finding Nemo)

Dory is a major character in the film Finding Nemo and its sequel, Finding Dory. She is a blue tang fish who suffers from short-term memory loss, which makes it difficult for her to retain information. Her memory issues create significant challenges for Marlin and herself during their quest to find Nemo... read more

Dory is definitely the funniest character in the movie! To be honest, I think she's the funniest Pixar character of all time. She makes the funniest jokes throughout the whole movie. The parts where she's trying to speak "whalish" are hilarious, and Marlin gets so easily triggered by her that it's really funny!

While I think her character went downhill in Finding Dory, she still had some funny moments there too. The best part about her is that she isn't afraid of anything in the movie. For instance, when Bruce the shark appears on screen, Marlin is the only one of the two to actually be scared. You see, Dory is so funny that she isn't afraid of anything!

I would list all the funny lines Dory has in Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, but I really don't want to fill up the page.

  2. Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story)

Buzz Lightyear is a fictional character from the Toy Story franchise. He is a toy modeled after a space ranger hero and plays a major role in the films and related merchandise.

In 2022, he was the central character in the spin-off film Lightyear. Buzz is voiced by Tim Allen in the Toy Story movies... read more

Yeah! Of course, I would add him to the list. He is just too funny to dislike. A fun fact is that when I was two years old, I was super scared of him because of the opening scene in Toy Story 2, weirdly. But anyway, we're talking about how funny he is.

In the first Toy Story movie, he believes that he is an actual space ranger and acts like an idiot, talking about his "past adventures." Woody constantly tries to prove he is a toy. These scenes are just so funny because Buzz always tries to find a way to "prove he is a space ranger." He is just so hilarious!

And in Toy Story 3, where he constantly speaks Spanish, it's just so hilarious!

  3. Anger (Inside Out)

Fun fact: Inside Out is the only Pixar movie with swearing in it, and Anger is the character that swears in the movie. Now, he does only swear one time, but he seems to always beg to swear. He's so funny!

The looks he makes at times are hilarious, and the moment at the end when he is jealous of Disgust is hilarious!

"Congratulations, San Francisco. You've ruined pizza. First the Hawaiians, and now you."

  4. Hector Rivera (Coco)

"You know what? I'm just going to zip right over. You won't even know I'm gone. *Makes a run for it*." That's our amigo, Hector.

Charming trickster Hector! Yeah! I loved him right out of the trailers!

  5. Woody (Toy Story)

Sheriff Woody Pride is a fictional character in the Toy Story franchise. He is voiced by Tom Hanks in all of the feature-length and short films, while Jim Hanks provides the voice in video games and shorts.

Woody is a pull-string cowboy doll who leads the other toys on various adventures in the... read more

"YOU, ARE, A, TOY!" One of the best Pixar quotes of all time, made by this guy! Now, Woody isn't as cool or funny as Buzz Lightyear, but he is cool and funny enough to be in the top ten. He has some of the best lines in the first movie and, sadly, went from funny to serious in the sequels. But he was still funny in the first movie!

  6. Bruce (Finding Nemo)

I don't know how he is in the English version, but he is hilarious in the Swedish version. He talks so funny and is a giant! He invites Dory and Marlin to a party, but it ends up being a disaster when he smells blood. He also makes a The Shining reference in the movie!

    Overall, he is hilarious!

I only noticed a couple of years ago that the shark meeting in Finding Nemo is supposed to be like an AA meeting. Pixar, you sly dog.

  7. Dug (Up)

Dug is a major supporting character in Disney and Pixar's 2009 film Up. He also appears as the protagonist in Dug's Special Mission and as a minor character in George & A.J. Dug is a golden retriever who can speak English using a special collar that translates his thoughts.

Dug is so sadly underrated. He talks fast and brightens up the whole film. Dug puts a whole new look on the talking dog concept, and this concept would actually make sense if we were that smart.

My favorite scenes with him are when he's running around like a complete nut and yelling for squirrels (get the pun?).

  8. Mater (Cars)

Tow Mater, or simply Mater, is a character in Cars and its sequels, Cars 2 and Cars 3, as well as Cars Toons. He is voiced by Larry the Cable Guy and is inspired by an International Harvester tow truck. Mater is known for his humorous personality and strong friendship with Lightning McQueen.

He was quite annoying in Cars 2, but I found him funny in Cars 1 and 3. He was probably the funniest in Cars 3.

He brightened up Cars and Cars 3 and made up the whole masterpiece called Cars 2!

  9. Edna Mode (The Incredibles)

Edna Mode is a fictional character from Pixar's The Incredibles franchise. She is a renowned suit designer for superheroes and is known for her spunky, no‑nonsense attitude. She firmly believes that superhero costumes must be both powerful and stylish.

  10. Francis (A Bug's Life)

Everyone in the movie mistakes him for a girl. He is just hilarious! He looks like a princess of beauty but is actually an arrogant male "ladybug."

Everything he does is just hilarious!

How was he not on here? He should be number one!

I am so glad that you are not a dinosaur.

  17. Chef Skinner (Ratatouille)

You gotta admit, out of all the Pixar villains, this one is the funniest. Heck, to me, I don't even think he's evil.

    The most hilarious Pixar villain!

  18. Russell (Up)

Russell is a fictional character in Pixar's 2009 animated film Up. He is a young and enthusiastic Junior Wilderness Explorer who unexpectedly joins Carl Fredricksen on an adventure to Paradise Falls. Russell is known for his persistence, innocence, and heartfelt relationship with Carl throughout the... read more

He's really funny and actually lightens up the whole movie like Dug. Up is such a good movie in general, to me though.

Syndrome, born Buddy Pine, is the main antagonist in The Incredibles. As a child, he idolized Mr. Incredible and called himself "Incrediboy," aspiring to become a superhero despite having no powers. 21. Forrest Woodbush (The Good Dinosaur)

I can't describe how funny and underrated this guy is. He is only on screen for like two minutes, but he was funny enough! He talks so slowly and is actually funny (unlike the sloths in Zootopia).

"This, is, blablabla. He/She protects me from blablabla." I love this guy!

  22. Fear (Inside Out)

He was hilarious in parts of the movie.
