Top 10 Best Offensive Tackles Going Into the 2026 NFL Season
-
Penei Sewell
Sewell has been completely dominant at right tackle since entering the league and is coming off three straight first-team All-Pro campaigns. With Taylor Decker gone, the Lions could very well move Sewell to left tackle, and he would probably be elite there as well. Still, keeping Sewell at the position at which he's earned four Pro Bowls and three All-Pro selections should be a priority.
-
Trent Williams
The longevity of Williams has been incredible as he heads into his 17th season still playing at a high level. He was a second-team All-Pro last year and played 16 games. He remains the best left tackle in the NFL somehow.
-
Tristan Wirfs
Wirfs, like Sewell, has been dominant since entering the league and has held down the fort at right tackle for the Buccaneers for over half a decade now.
-
Joe Alt
After an elite rookie season, Alt continued playing well into his second season, though he missed a good chunk of the season due to injury. Despite this, Alt goes into his third season as one of the premier linemen, pending, of course, that he stays healthy.
-
Garett Bolles
Bolles had a rough start to his career way back, but he's really put it all together and quietly become one of the best tackles in the league since about 2020 or so. He was named a first-team All-Pro for the first time in his career while being part of a stout Broncos offensive line as a whole.
-
Lane Johnson
David Lane Johnson is an American football offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Eagles with the fourth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Johnson has been selected to multiple Pro Bowls and was a key part of the team's Super Bowl LII victory... read more
Last season was really the first year we saw a noticeable slowdown in Johnson's play, though that can probably be attributed to missing time due to injury. Still, the 36-year-old continues to be an extremely effective right tackle for the Eagles. He has contemplated retirement in recent years, so this could be his final season coming up.
-
Laremy Tunsil
Tunsil has been nothing but consistent on all three teams he's played for in his 10-year career. Now he's holding down the blindside in Washington and still playing at a high level.
-
Rashawn Slater
When he plays, Slater is a top-three left tackle in the NFL. Unfortunately for him, injuries have very much hampered his career, including suffering a season-ending injury in training camp last year right after signing a big extension. He is elite when healthy, but can he come back the same after missing so much time?
-
Jordan Mailata
Compared to his counterpart at right tackle, Mailata has been kind of unheralded in Philadelphia. But he's continued to be a major factor in why the Eagles have consistently had the best offensive line in the league for years now.
-
Darnell Wright
Wright really burst onto the scene in his third season and helped shape a once-porous Bears offensive line into one of the better units in the league. He was awarded for his efforts at right tackle with a second-team All-Pro nod.
