Top Ten Prospects of 2025 NFL Draft
Well, well, well. It's that time of year once again. The NFL draft fast approaches in a couple of weeks.Which means it's time to get familiar with this year's prospect. I gotta be honest, there is a lot of boom or busts type talent in this class. So let's look at all of those cases.
Well, we assume he'll be the first off the board. Hopefully, he gets a good supporting cast to throw to.
Right now, it looks mediocre. Could it be a rough start or a surprise success from the get go?
A guy who could play two positions. Where have I seen that before (pondering, thinking)? Oh yeah, the great Desmond Howard. Strangely, that is my comparison from years ago.
Pick the right position and he thrives. Put him in the right scheme and role, and the gamble really pays off.
His potential could be great or a complete bust. That seems to be the theme for a lot of players on this list.
Which Penn State product will we get? The one like Micah Parsons? Or the disappointing version like Courtney Brown?
Oh boy, Deion's kid. If he doesn't end up with a good organization, he could flame out fast like Johnny Football.
Somehow, I feel like the writing is on the wall. How will it all play out? Are the cards in his favor?
There are a few teams starving for a young, fresh tailback to help relieve pressure on the quarterback. Is this the guy who can do that? Is he special enough to transform into an elite weapon?
Oh look... another player from the maize and blue. Once again, I'm skeptical about a player rated so highly on many mock boards.
Yes, on paper he might be able to create good holes and be a strong supporting presence. But can that translate into the pros?
The biggest boom or bust corner in the draft. Right out of the gate, the player reminds me of Caleb Farley, a guy with great size and ball hawk potential.
The problem is he always got hurt, which would be my concern if I took him in the top 10 as a critical piece to start as my CB1. I'd be concerned immediately after seeing his injury history. If he can "shake it off," I guess I was wrong about the former Wolverine.
What is it with overhyping this specific position? In recent memory, taking a tight end this high has set the team back rather than moved it forward. Go ask the Lions (Hockenson), Falcons (Pitts), Buccaneers (Howard), and Giants (Engram) as clear-cut examples.
You don't have to take one in the first round for what is considered one of the hardest positions to play. Yet, he and another fellow Big Ten rival are expected to go fairly high in many mock drafts. Perhaps they need to fall down the board for the sake of the teams considering them, unless it truly is a desperate need in some cases.
This class is full of interior players who can get to the quarterback. One of the guys who could make an impact right away is Jalon Walker.
We could be looking at a certified superstar or a complete bust who doesn't last long.
The Newcomers
I'm calling it now (4/23/25), this is who Green Bay drafts.
Will come back in about 24 hours to see if I was right.
He has great upside thanks to his huge size that reminds me of Megatron. That's high praise coming from me.
If he can tear up a defense and put up video game numbers, this could be a hit. Otherwise, it could flop like N'Keal Harry. Nobody likes a guy with stone hands.
