Top 10 Worst Video Games of the 2010s

Let's refrain from easy targets like shovelware games or bad licensed games. Try to keep it focused on more prominent, actual games.

The Top Ten
  1. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric

  2. Ride to Hell: Retribution

    Worst game ever.

  3. Mighty No. 9

    Worst Mega Man ripoff ever.

We Kickstarted this for a Mega Man ripoff?

    What?

    Ripoff of Mega Man.

  4. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5

The only reason this game was made was so that Activision could sneak one last Tony Hawk game in before their contract with the series expired. Even when the trailers were announced, everyone could see that very little effort or passion was put into the game. It's also baffling as to why Robomodo was in charge of this game, despite every Tony Hawk game they developed prior to this failing miserably (and then they shut down in 2016. Hmm, I wonder why).

From a whole day-one patch to poor gameplay, to unappealing levels, and a mediocre soundtrack slapped on top, this game was a mess. Doomed from the very start.

Atrocious. Complete embarrassment. Activision ruined everything.

  5. Mass Effect: Andromeda

As a fan of the original trilogy, I am deeply disappointed with the turnout of this game. It's one big middle finger from BioWare to the fans of the series.

  6. Alone in the Dark: Illumination

  7. Duke Nukem Forever

  8. RollerCoaster Tycoon World

  9. WWE 2K20

Well... I never thought I'd ever see the second coming of the game Wrestlemania 21 nearly 15 years later. Unplayable gameplay, weird and scary glitches. WWE 2K20 might as well be a sour end to the WWE games since WWE 2K21 was considered canceled thanks to the negative press surrounding this disaster of a wrestling game. Who knew once THQ had finally parted ways with Yukes that Visual Concepts would have programming deficiencies making the game nearly unplayable.

  10. Raven's Cry

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Crying Is Not Enough

  13. ?

    PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

  14. The Contenders
  15. Fallout 76

This game is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I highly recommend you watch Internet Historian's "The Fall of 76" if you haven't already, but everything covered in that video is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how poorly this game has performed and what it has done to Bethesda's reputation. One year later, incidents involving this game continue to happen, and we can only wait for a part 2 to "The Fall of 76".

Why wasn't this crap already on here?!

  16. Metroid: Other M

    Ruined Samus.

  17. Amy (2012)

  18. Rambo: The Video Game

  19. Godzilla (PS4)

  20. Left Alive

  21. NBA 2K20

Do you want to know how realism doesn't improve games? Integral features of this game have been outright removed due to COVID-19 suspending the NBA season in real life. The funny part is you think I'm kidding!

Even when this game came out, it was nothing but a microtransaction-filled scam. The controls and the animations are terrible, glitches and crashes are rampant, and the story mode is short and has some of the worst writing I've seen. By the way, Sonic 06 deserves a break from the loading screen memes when NBA 2K20's can go on for 12 whole hours!

The only reason this game exists is to scam basketball fans out of their money, and 2K Games had the nerve to try and exploit children to lift the microtransaction ban in Belgium just so they can squeeze more money out of them. No game sums up how disgusting the corporate side of gaming got in the 2010s better than this one. Scoff at how it's just a sports game all you want, but don't act surprised when this extreme disregard for the consumer sneaks its way into beloved franchises.

  22. Life of Black Tiger

  23. Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor

  24. Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight

  25. Mindjack (2011)

  26. Vroom in the Night Sky

  27. Hunt Down the Freeman

  28. Fortnite

  29. SimCity (2013)
