Heaviest Metal Songs Of 2018
@LightningStrike - Album liner notes in regard to the song:
"Partly a sarcastic comment on the fact that despite having much in common with Black Metal, we do not typically find ourselves shouting about Satan very much.
But also a reference to something which is genuinely awful - TATP, known colloquially as Mother of Satan, is an explosive which has been used in a number of tragic terrorist attacks.
We do not seek to comment on those attacks or their motivations, rather to observe a distinction between supernatural terror and the horror which exists all too abundantly in the real world.
Finally, the Satan motif is also evoked in the cover artwork for the album, which seeks to depict the eternal nature of organised mass brutality by blending classical, World War 1 and modern elements - the latter in the form of the recently unveiled Satan 2 ICBMs."
Can you guess how many people created this sound? Two!
While Anaal Nathrakh's crazy drumming is a result of programming, here we have a real crazy drummer: Flo Mounier (human drum machine).
Can you imagine, there's some melody in a song by this band (towards the end). For which the song isn't higher on this list.
It may be heavy as hell but pay attention to the elegant bassline on fretless bass (play the sample). Top of the game.
This song is pretty brutal most of the time but there's a melodic section in the middle that was the reason to put it lower.
