Bernard "Bernie" Sanders is an independent American Senator from Vermont and was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 and 2020 elections. He's more of an activist in a Senator's position, than he is an actual Senator. Sure, he does have some good ideas that should be considered (healthcare, wealth tax) but is unable to work with people across the aisle to get things done, the same way someone like a Lisa Murkowski, Joe Manchin or Mark Warner can work with the other side.
