Best Black & White Era Looney Tunes Characters
-
Porky Pig
Porky Pig is an animated cartoon character in the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons. He is known for his signature stutter and his iconic closing line, Th-th-th-that's all, folks! Porky first appeared in 1935 and became one of the studio's most recognizable characters.
Porky Pig always had the best and most black & white shorts. He had a varied lineup of cartoons, from westerns, to horror toons, and the treasure we call "Porky in Wackyland".
-
Daffy Duck
Daffy Duck is an animated cartoon character produced by Warner Bros. Styled as an anthropomorphic black duck, he has appeared in cartoon series such as Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. Daffy is often portrayed as the best friend and occasional rival of Bugs Bunny.
Daffy would debut in "Porky's Duck Hunt", but he isn't snobby in the Black & White cartoons, instead being... well... daffy.
-
Bosko
To get the cat out of the bag, yes, by today's standards, his design is racist, but most of his humor isn't race based, but rather slapstick humor that will pave the way for future tunes.
-
Beans the Cat
Failing compared to Porky, he had a few good cartoons.
-
Happy Hare
The really bizarre prototype of Bugs Bunny.
-
Oliver Owl
To be honest, he had potential, it was just barely used.
-
Gabby Goat
The only one of Porky's original "friends" to not come from I Haven't Got A Hat, he has made a resurgence in recent years.
-
Goopy Geer
The character that coincidentally predated Goofy by a month.
-
Ham
Two twin dogs who only appeared in five shorts.
-
Foxy
Blatant Mickey Mouse ripoff. But not downright racist or downright forgettable either.
