I made this list because newer metal guitarists aren't as well known. This list includes both lead and rhythm guitarists.

He won the LA Music Awards Guitarist of the Year in 2013. A guitar virtuoso who plays in a neoclassical style.

2 Gus G (1980) Konstantinos Karamitroudis also known as Gus G, born September 12, 1980 in Greece is a heavy metal guitarist. He currently plays with his band Firewind and Ozzy Osbourne
3 Christian Muenzner (1981)

Alternate spelling: Münzner, which is the original spelling in German. He is a neo-classically influenced lead guitarist (Necrophagist, Obscura).

4 Steffen Kummerer (1985) Steffen Kummerer (born June 1, 1985) is a German guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. He is the leader, main songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist for the progressive technical death metal band Obscura as well as the blackened melodic death metal band Thulcandra.

He's primarily a rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist, but he can also play solos.

5 Tom Geldschläger (1984)

Also known as Tom Fountainhead Geldschläger, or just Fountainhead. He was born on March 6, 1984. A German guitarist, he's mostly known for his fretless rhythm and lead guitar style.

Did you hear that? FRETLESS rhythm and lead guitar! (as noted in the image) He played on Obscura's album Akroasis (2016).

11 Richie Faulkner (1980) Richard Ian Faulkner, is an English guitarist (born 1 January 1980). In 2011 he was appointed as the successor of K.K. Downing in heavy metal band Judas Priest.

He's a decent replacement. Redeemer of Souls was a good album.

He has been playing for Judas Priest since 2011, replacing KK Downing.
