Top Ten Metal Singers in 2018 Whose Vocals Have Aged Incredibly.

The Top Ten
1 Rob Halford

Definielty the most well aged voice here. Listen to Painkiller then and now, and you won't be able to tell which is which.

Even with age, Rob can sing just as good as he did on painkiller.

2 Dave Mustaine David Scott "Dave" Mustaine (born September 13, 1961) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, actor and author. Mustaine is best known as a pioneer in Thrash Metal, being the former lead guitarist of Metallica before his dismissal in 1983, leading to finding and becoming the front man of his own band Megadeth shortly after.

Everyone and their brother knows that Dave singing sounded like him trying to pitch a loaf in 80s and 90s. Nowadays, his voice is a lot better and more befitting for the newer Megadeth albums. If you are at all curious on the vocal difference listen to rust in peace, then go listen to dystopia.

3 Klaus Meine Klaus Meine is a German vocalist, best known as the lead singer of the hard rock band Scorpions. He and guitarist Rudolf Schenker are the only two members of the group to appear on every Scorpions album.

His voice is incredible and aged very good but he hasn't been a metal singer for long time - since the 70s.

His voice is still good. I saw the Scorpions live and Klaus nailed it!

4 Joey Belladonna Joey Belladonna is the American Thrash Metal singer, best known for leading the band Anthrax. He also sings and drums for the cover band Chief Big Way.

Most people dislike his vocals in the semi-early anthrax years, but now his voice can be considered to be tolerable by most people. (I can't see why people don't like his voice, I think it's great).

I'm not an Anthrax fan but I think his vocal skills are pretty good and he still sounds pretty good.

5 Bruce Dickinson

Bruce sounds nearly exactly like he did in the 80s. Awesome vocals, and after cancer surgery, he seems to have an easier time singing.

Yes, definitely. Although that cancer probably affected his voice.

6 Tom Araya Tomás Enrique "Tom" Araya Díaz is a Chilean American musician, best known as the bassist and vocalist of the American thrash metal band Slayer.

His vocals have gotten this snarl that makes his voice less irritating.

7 Hansi Kürsch Hansi Kürsch, born Hans Jürgen Kürsch, is the lead singer, lyricist, co-composer and bassist for German power metal band Blind Guardian . Heavily influenced by Freddie Mercury, he creates a huge choir effect by overdubbing his own voice multiple times in complex, overlapping vocal harmonies. He records each vocal track individually because harmonizers and "perfect pitch" programs don't work with his voice due to distortion and the natural double layer effects his vocal cords have .
His early technique made use of a more aggressive and harsher, "screaming" technique . ...read more.

He's the most curious case for me:
1) with aging, he widened his range by widening his highest register (aging usually lowers the singing voices)
2) his voice at the age of 50 still sounded incredibly pristine and clean as if all those 30 years of singing difficult metal material never happened - no unwanted rasp and so on (ex. Miracle Machine by Blind Guardian)

8 Ozzy Osbourne John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne was born on December 3, 1948. He is also known as ''The Prince of Darkness''. Ozzy is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath. Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums.

Probably because he has never had an impressive voice so there's not much to lose...

9 Chuck Billy Charles "Chuck" Billy is an American vocalist, who is best known as the vocalist for the thrash metal band Testament.
10 Ian Gillan Ian Gillan is an English singer and songwriter. He originally found success as the lead singer and lyricist for Deep Purple, and the original singer on the rock opera concept album Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber, where Gillan had the leading role (Jesus Christ).
The Contenders
11 Max Cavalera Massimiliano Antonio "Max" Cavalera is a Brazillian singer, guitarist, and songwriter who currently plays in heavy metal bands Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, and Killer Be Killed.
12 Biff Byford Peter Rodney "Biff" Byford is an English singer, musician, and composer. He is mostly known as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Saxon.
13 Maynard James Keenan Maynard James Keenan, often referred to by his initials MJK, is an American musician, record producer, winemaker, and actor, best known as the vocalist for Grammy Award-winning progressive metal band Tool. He also is the singer of A Perfect Circle and Puscifer bands that vary in style.

I don't consider him a metal singer though
