Top 10 Metal Songs with the Most Underrated Drum Intros
Metal drum intros that are usually mentioned include:1) Painkiller - Judas Priest, Honor Thy Father - Dream Theater, Indians - Anthrax, Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden, Show No Mercy - Slayer.
2) many intros by non-metal bands people think are metal, such as Tool, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Nine Inch Nails, Breaking Benjamin, and more.
What I wanna say is that many metal intros are actually underrated.
A drum intro by Mike Mangini that is about 17 seconds long
Despite the rest of the song being an absolute masterpiece, it's really the first minute that makes it so perfect to me
This drum intro is different, memorable and long (1 min) but it's more known than
Detonation by Annihilator.
It's really long (about 30 secs).
It's underrated because many metal fans hate the Black Album and refuse to appreciate anything on it. Besides, Lars got criticized a lot - another reason to deny his drum intro is cool.
The drumming is as anthemic as it is raw and energetic. It also shows some good display of Lars's drumming.
I never listened to this song.
It's about 10 secs long - while less known it's not the most underrated
Probably the longest drum intro on this list (1 min long, of which 20 secs are "clean" drums). But it's less underrated than the songs I put higher. Also, Megadeth songs aren't underrated in general.
It's fast and raw, and it's 30 secs long (but I didn't put it higher because the song might be on the borderline between metal and hard rock; drum intro is very cool though)
Is guitar and drum, but the drum is more important
Gotta love Dailor's iconic snare roll
