Most Underrated Sequels

The Top Ten

1 The Lost World - Jurassic Park

This is one of my favorite movies ever made. The only thing about the movie that people should have any reason to whine about is that scene where the ship crashes into the docks and is completely deserted and somehow the Trex got out of its restraints only to somehow end up inside the cargo hold. The movie never gives us an explanation for any of this. But still, everything else about the movie was OUTSTANDING and is definitely a masterpiece worthy of extreme praise!

This is one of the most underrated sequels of all time. The people who think that it's awful need to shut the heck up. If you hate it that's fine but for me its an awesome movie.

I do not care what the nostalgia critic says this is a great movie the only problem with it is the scene where the kid kicks the Raptor. The rest of this movie is great. People say this film does not have Spielberg's golden touch, but they are wrong. This film does not get the credit it deserves. The people who hate this film need to shut up because it is a great movie.

I don't care what nostalgia critic or anyone else says this movie is awesome and does not deserve the pointless criticism it gets.

2 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Probably the second most underrated sequel ever after the lost world jurassic park. It has its fun moments and Harrison Ford gives a good performance. There is to much cgi, but overall it's a fun film.

While it is true that Inianna Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the weakest of the Indiana Jones films, I still thought that it was a solid follow up story, bad cgi or not.

3 Spider-Man 3

This movie gets such a bad rap for not being as good as the first 2. That may be true, but it's still very entertaining and has a lot going for it. - Shadsilvson11

I love this movie sure the story is not mind blowing but in my opinion everything else made it. Underrated - idontknow

Probably my favorite spiderman movie

Yeah this is underrated

4 Back to the Future Part III
5 Star Wars - Episode II, Attack of the Clones

Honestly, I thought that Star Wars Attackof the Clones was a good movie. Sure the romantic dialogue was stiff at times but the film does a very good job at not only explaigning Anakin's dark, pitiful psyche but it also explaigns many of the events leading up to the rise of the Empire itself. Until I figured out that the whole Darth Jar Jar theory was very likely an abandoned and potentially brilliant plot point that would've made the film so much better in the long run.

Finnaly someone actually acknoledges that this movie has good parts to it!

6 Predator 2

Much better than Predators (2010). Great performance by Kevin Peter Hall.

Really neat how it transitions from the jungles in South America to the concrete jungles of LA. Sure, Ahnold isn't in it, but Danny Glover did a fine job and I like how they added more lore to Predator

7 Batman Returns

Honestly, I personally thought that Batman Returns was quite good. Sure it's really dark but then it's the Dark Knight we're talking about here.

You have GOT to be kidding. Batman Returns makes Batman & Robin look like The Godfather Part II, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King ALL ROLLED INTO ONE!

Much better than the first one. It's a shame that Tim Burton couldn't make another one.

8 Halloween III: Season of the Witch
9 Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

Yes, very underrated. Original MK movie was better but this sequel had much better fight scenes. And come on, these films are based on computer fighting game franchise so FIGHTS are the most important here, not story - Alexandr

10 Die Hard 2 - Die Harder

Terrible title but awesome movie!

The Contenders

11 Rocky V

Rocky 5, being blunt about it, was a perfectly decent addition to the Rocky series.

12 Psycho II
13 RoboCop 2

I disliked that annoying kid but as a whole, this sequel was quite decent. Action scenes looked awesome, great effects for that time - Alexandr

Agreed. Kid was annoying but everything else was pretty decent. First film is much better though.

Lol I never heard of a sequel to the robocop

14 Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

This is a cool movie I don't know why people hates it so much

I also agree. While this film isn't as good as The Terminator or Terminator 2: Judgement Day, I still thought that it was a good follow up to the series. Plius, the idea of a femalesque Anti Terminator is actually a pretty original and creative idea.

Sorry, another typo on plus being plius in my last comment. Sorry lol.

15 Gremlins 2: The New Batch

One of those better than the first sequels.

Yeah your right Gizmo's back Mowhawk's the new leader of the Gremlins Zach Galigian reprises his role as Billy Peltzer and there are Mutant Gremlins and the fact that the movie is more dark and scary

Original actors reprising their roles.

Mutant Gremlins.

Cameos a plenty.

One of the best 4th wall breaks in film.

Tony Randall voicing an intelligent Gremlin.

A musical number.

What's not to love about this film?

16 Ghostbusters II

There are so many good movies on this list but this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Great villain that left you wanting more, evolved script, awesome new tech and overall entertaining - TermonatorT888

Not only does it recapture the spirit of it's ancestor, it offers two significant improvements: a WAY scarier villain, and a surprisingly profound script with though provoking things to say about how people love you... When they need you, and how a build-up of emotion negativity can come back to (literally) haunt you.

17 28 Weeks Later
18 Hot Shots! Part Deux
19 Alien 3

Still suburb alien movie. OK, they made some mistakes but the storyline was interesting. I would only add more characters you could care about - Alexandr

20 The Rescuers Down Under
21 Next Friday
22 Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge of the Sith

Tied with force awakens for my favorite star wars movies

23 Saw II
24 Resident Evil: Apocalypse
25 The Matrix Reloaded
26 The Matrix Revolutions
27 Final Destination 2
28 Ice Age: The Meltdown
29 Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
30 Undisputed II - Last Man Standing
31 Robocop 3
32 House 2
33 Shock Treatment

A sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show with a biting social commentary on the role television plays in our lives.

34 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Star Wars do prequels (70s-80s) before sequels (90s-00s)?
If The Phantom Menace came out in 1977 would people enjoy that but hate A New Hope if it came out in 1999.
Because normally its prequels before sequels.
For example The Hobbit a prequel then Lord of The Rings the sequel. Guess which was written first? Even shown first (nowadays I know there was earlier films like an animated Lord of the Rings movie)

35 Saw: The Final Chapter

Hell no, this is awful with a capital A.

36 Jaws 2

This is so underrated and is actually a great film

37 Leprechaun 4: In Space
38 Alien: Resurrection
39 The Bourne Supremacy
40 Rio 2

I Don't Care What Anyone Says
I Still Like This Movie

41 Halloween II
42 The Girl Who Played With Fire
43 Poltergeist II: The Other Side
44 Batman Forever
45 Addams Family Values
46 Terminator Genisys

While it is of the weaker films in the Terminator Franchise, it shows Arnold return, which is fabulous and for the rest of the characters has a surprisingly good cast. It might not be the greatest, but underrated indeed. But Terminator Salvation was horrible

47 Cars 2

Even if the first one was better, it shows a good cast with a decent plot. Michael Caine as Finn McMissile is awesome, and the fight sequences are some of the coolest I've seen in animated movies. Not a perfect movie, but a good movie that gets WAY too much hate.
