Top 10 Movie Characters We Didn't Want to DieThese are movie characters who did not deserve to die or kick the bucket. One rule: Only deaths that were NOT resurrected.
Newt died a hero, and his death was probably the single, most horrid to watch. Ever. It also made the last movie more intense than the rest, waiting for the inevitable to happen. Newt didn't deserve to die at all! In the movies, and most likely the books, his death was the most impactful of all. You don't see many of the characters morn for others that demised, but if you pay attention, you can see that Thomas cried twice, when he really only morns for others once, in the moment. Also, if you look close enough, you can see Minho wearing Newt's jacket in the Safe Haven. You can see tears brimming in the eyes of Brenda, suddenly realizing that she is too late. Honestly, Newt is my favorite character, ever, and I cried when I found out he was going to go insane, and the epilogue of "Crank Palace" made me cry again. He really cared about his friends, and judging by the quote in "The Fever Code" when the original Gladers were being sent into the Maze, "Even Newt, down at the end of the ...more
Newt was beyond amazing. So many people quickly fell for him although he wasn't perfect. And that's okay that he wasn't perfect. Yes he was quiet and broken but that's who he was and we as people loved him. He kept the peace and cared about everyone. He wanted everyone to live their lives just like he would have given his life to save anyone of those shanks that he cared about. He helped Alby and Minho and Thomas everyone else to make sure they were okay before he was. He put other peoples needs before his and that's one of the best things about him...he cared. And thanks to that limp and blonde hair, he kept everyone together until the end. He was an angel without wings and that limp defines him in such a way where it hurt everyone. We all felt his death and it was a very tragic thing because no one will ever forget him. May the angel rest in peace. He was the glue and there's no question about that. He bloody inspired all of us
Yes, this character death was indeed one of the saddest. The book, though, I feel didn't really portray the great loss as well as the movie did. This is often not the case, but instead of feeling sad for Newt, I felt angry at Thomas for killing him in the book. In the movie, however, Newt's death was foreshadowed very well, even though half the movie you think "Oh. He's gotten the Flare. But wait, he's a main character, so they wouldn't DARE kill him..." Whelp, they did.
And I is very sadnesses.
Newt's character had such an emotional depth to it. He had so much pain in his life, and him wanting to end that pain so quickly shocked many people. He was also the most humane for many people was well. He supported many of the other characters, helping them be the characters they were right now. Really, Newt's death was an emotional but deep experience for many fans far and wide.
Just because the character is fictional, doesn't mean we shouldn't care about that character. If we shouldn't care for a character because he or she is fictional, then what's the point of liking any movie or show that isn't a documentary? When you're watching or reading fiction, you're looking at a world where the characters exist. They can make you laugh, make you sing, make you dance, make you amazed, or make you sad, whether you cry about it or not. There are many people that can relate to characters in fiction. Judging by your ignorant comment, you must not be one of those people.
I cried when Mufasa died. I really hated scar after that. How could he do that to his own brother and his niece. Leaving his niece to greive so then he could become king like really? He was coldhearted :(
Well, if that happened there would be no more plot.
Was I the only one who didn't cry at that scene
Before he died, I wanted to see a battle against Voldemort
Well thanks for spoiling it -.-
Always makes me want to cry. But I'm glad Wild Bill and Percy Wetmore got what's coming to them. They were pure evil!
I always choke up to this scene.
That part is very sad
This was the first Stephen King film I had ever saw and this also was the most shocking death I saw at the time (I was little when I saw it)
He is the best... horrible
Should not have died
I wish he didn't die...
I want to see Han shove a grenade up Kylo Ren’s ass in the next special edition.
When I fist watched this, I wasn't expecting this at all
Totally! I sobbed right after that part.
I clicked on this list because I knew this was going to be on this list. How could this not be at #1? This death had such a powerful effect, and it was a very bold move for a movie that was meant for all ages. R-rated movies don't have a death that intense. There are many people that became sentimental because of this sad moment. This death really hit home because it represented how tragic and unpredictable life can be.
This should be #1! When I was little I would always edit this scene out on the video when I made copies. Now with DVDs and Blu-rays you can just hit "skip chapter" twice to get past it.
It is much sadder than Mufasa's death. Bambi's parents were not dictators unlike Mufasa.
this made me cry:'(
I didn't even watch the movie Spoiler alert
I wish Arnold didn't have that chip.
Ok, I usually don't cry during movie deaths, but this one was just sad and hit me in the heart. Sirius lived a depressing life in prison for 12 years for a crime he didn't commit and when he escaped, he promised Harry that they would live a happy life together and when I found out he died, I was like "WHAT!? No it can't be!" He could've had so much more waiting for him in the future. So yeah, I shed a couple of tears during that scene
Sirius didn't have a fair life, he was locked up for years in a horrible prison that sucked away all his happiness and then Dumbledore forced him to stay locked up in his old family home full of depressing memories for him. He promised Harry they could live together someday and it was heartbreaking to see Harry so devestated after he died, he was the only family Harry had left. Sirius didn't have a happy life and it makes me so upset to think about all the years he spent in jail and how when he was released, he didn't ever get to experience the life of a free man again. It also crushed me to see Remus's reaction, because he had three best friends and one of them died, and the other was a traitor. He only had Sirius left and when Sirius died he witnessed it, but instead of being able to grieve he had to restrain Harry. He never really got to express how upsetting it must have been for him like Harry did and Sirius's death affected everyone so much.
That death was rare and ass and I thought it revived
God my mom cried so much
I cried so hard when he was killed off. I love How To Train Your Dragon movies, I am happy about the third film. I am so sorry about Stoick, he was a good character just like everyone else in How To Train Your Dragon movies.
Katniss volunteered for the Hunger Games to protect her and then, about a year later, bombs that her closest friend designed killed Prim.
Pretty sure this is a spoiler!
This could have been really sad if it had been executed properly, but the writing was so stiff and boring that it didn't really make me that upset
He died like a boss
Why isn't this higher? This was possibly one of the saddest deaths I've ever read. It was devestating to read George's reaction, and it kills me to think George will never be the same again. I knew someone who lost a twin, and when their twin died they were devestated and never acted the same again. Every time he told me that story it broke my heart. In the movie, the actor played it amazingly and his reaction, as well as all the other family members, was horrifying. It was so sad to see such a young, happy character get killed, and how strongly it affected all his family.
It was awful how upset George was. He could never cast a Patronus Charm again because his happiest memories were with Fred.
His death was a mess, should not have died
Her death was awful.
Such an underrated character
It absolutely killed me to see Dallas die. I'd only just seen Johnny's death, but the impact it had on Dally more than anyone else was horrible. It was so heartbreaking to watch as Dallas broke down, since Johnny was the only person that really mattered to him. Seeing Dally cry and run away was a shock since he was usually so calm, and when he went to rob the store it was so painful to see the emotion on his face and how truly broken he was. When the police shot him, hearing the screams from the other boys that he was just a kid killed me, and when his last word was 'Pony'... well, I don't think I'll ever recover from that. Dallas didn't deserve any of it, and his death is one of the saddest things I've ever read.
Chuck was the top character in the maze runner.
He died a hero. He saved Thomas.
I liked that little kid.
This made me cry so hard
he didn't have to die. such a part.
Best god(ice giant) of all time.
LOCKE was the best
