Top 10 Best Kings of Leon Songs

The Top Ten
1 Use Somebody

I listen to this song every day. It makes me want to hold her tight, never let her go. I can't believe that I let her go in the first place. I wish I could dedicate this song to her. This one is for you, Charlize. Your smile still haunts me.

Of course, it's the most popular, but definitely not the best. Go listen to the albums before, and why not, after this! They are so much better. I'm starting to hate this song because people base their decision on whether they like Kings of Leon or not, or to define KOL's style, which was, and actually is, really different!

This is the song for my alarm. So, practically, I start my day with this song. This is the song that I listen to when I am sad. This is the song that I listen to when I am feeling alone and find courage. Appreciate it very much.

2 Sex on Fire

I love everything about this song. I love the music, the lyrics, the vocals, the instruments, the Followill brothers. It really reaches through your soul. The song is fabulous. Really, really awesome. I could listen to it all day and all night.

Awesome song from start to finish. This is the song that made me buy a KOL album, and I now have all their albums. Personally, I think their older stuff is better, but I like a lot of their new songs.

Outstanding song, it has got everything: the lyrics, the sound, it gets everybody rocking and singing along. They are an outstanding band, brilliant live.

3 Closer

The guitar riff, the lyrics, the steady drum beat, and the soul and emotion expressed in the unique and raspy vocals make this song my personal favorite. The perfect blend of all these factors, plus the building intensity throughout the whole song, should boost this song to the top two at least. I'm honestly disappointed to see this classic at number 4.

Closer deserves to be number 1. The lyrics are the best ever. Use Somebody and Sex On Fire are very good, but Closer is better. Listen to it if you haven't. You'll know.

You shimmy-shook my boat,
Leavin' me stranded all in love on my own
Do you think of me?
Where am I now, baby where do I sleep?
Feels so good but I'm old
2000 years of chasing takin' its toll

4 Knocked Up

I can listen to this song on repeat for hours. The guitar riffs are so haunting and moving. Anytime I'm feeling like hell, I put this on and instantly feel more at peace. I first heard it during a rough time in my life, and it kept me going.

My all-time favorite song. The song has a great story, the vocals are great, and the drums are right on beat throughout the whole song.

This song is excellent. It should be in the top 3. It so deserves to be. It's sad to see it in 5. Should be ahead of Pyro and Closer, believe me. It's so sad to see it here.

5 Pyro

I think this song is one of the best songs of all time because it is original, and you can listen to it over and over again without getting bored. The only reason this song isn't number 1 is that it isn't mainstream compared to some of the others...

I know this song so well! It's an amazing song. It has such a great beat to it, and the lyrics are so amazing. Kings of Leon is just a great band in general. But this song is definitely a favorite and should be a top song! I'd give it a 9 out of 10. It's awesome, man.

The song just speaks to me. It reminds me of a special time when I was younger and exploring new music. Coupled with such lyrical genius, it's no wonder it's a good song.

6 Radioactive

This song is so powerful and has so much soul. Eighth place does not give it credit. It deserves to be first or second at the least. Most people, especially hardcore fans, just don't like the fact that it's from the new album and that it's the one that has catapulted them to world stardom. But hey, you don't achieve world stardom with just any tune, right?

Hands down the best song Kings of Leon has to offer. It's got a fantastic riff to it that just makes you want to hear it again and again!

This song is by far my favourite, so powerful. Fifth?! Come on, guys!

7 The Bucket

It was really difficult to choose, and this isn't probably my favorite, but I voted for this because it is the highest-ranked song of the first two albums on this list. I really can't stand the fact that the top ten is formed mostly by "Only by the Night" songs just because it's the most popular album. Please listen to the others, which are so much better!

The first badass KOL song, from their early work, that's criminally underrepresented on this (honestly, pretty lame) list. This one made me want to listen to more KOL... As it probably did for most "OG" fans.

8 Notion

Best Song by Kings of Leon by far. Not cheesy like Use Somebody. It has a good flow to it that makes you want to just play it on repeat for hours. Only Closer comes close for me. But what do I know.

Easily the best KOL song that I've heard. This is the song that helped me get into Kings of Leon. The bass line, the drums, and the keyboard melody in the background are so groovy all together. Not to mention the vocals are so raw.

Musically, none of the others compare to this one. It is not only memorable but also has a melody line that can be hummed easily and/or sung.

9 Charmer

Incredible song. What a vocal performance.

Amazing song, that scream is awesome!

10 On Call

This song is so amazing! I thought Kings of Leon was okay, until they overplayed songs like Use Somebody or Sex On Fire. After a couple of years, I heard them again, and they are amazing!

This song is certainly one of a kind. The music is very haunting and soulful. Certainly a Kings of Leon special. I am surprised it didn't make it to the top five.

I don't quite understand how Radioactive and Fans can be ahead of this song. Have you listened to the bass?

The Contenders
11 Crawl

Man, this is at 17! Top 5 catchiest song of all times. For me.

Classic guitar solo and so underrated. Should be at #6.

So underrated! The guitar solo is classic! Can't believe it is at number 23! Such

12 Fans

Absolutely love this song! The sound, the lyrics, everything is perfect. It's a classic KOL sound that we all know and love, with a catchy beat and mesmerizing, awe-striking guitar skills. And not to mention Caleb's beautiful voice, those high notes just turn my legs to jelly and raise the hairs on the back of my neck. Such a powerful and completely brilliant song. Definitely deserves a higher ranking.

This was the first song I ever heard of them, and I've loved it ever since. It is really catchy and has a great beat. You can listen to this song over and over, and it will never get old! Definitely deserves to be in the top 10!

13 Four Kicks

This song should be in the top 10. It's awesome and very good. Vote for it because I've gotten bored of Sex on Fire and Use Somebody.

How is this song not their best song?

Wow, can't believe that all the classics are this far down. Four Kicks is amazing.

14 Be Somebody

This is my get-amped-for-games song. It absolutely tells a story like that of an athlete who needs to prove themselves to reach the next level. On a more musical note, great guitar riffs and drums throughout the song make it one of my top three, alongside Notion and Closer. Only by the Night is a solid gold album that I will remember for a long time.

AWESOME! Best all-around song the boys have ever done! Every part of this song... The pitch harmonics by Matthew, the excellent drum beats by Nathan, and the bassline and vocals make an amazing atmosphere. VOTE NOW for Be Somebody!

15 King of the Rodeo

Best chorus I think I have ever heard. I play this song all the time, and I just don't get bored of it. Please vote for this song because it is an amazing piece of songwriting, and it's incredibly catchy. Good work, guys!

The song's got a sizzle about it, more of a country rock song. The first time I listened to this song, I was like, Man, I should have it. The song's a must-have for all Kol fans.

Great track, love the sound. Not a country fan but think this is great.

16 Red Morning Light

Great guitar and lyrics. Should be top 20. So should Genius.

Very funny song, rockabilly, you can't be in a bad mood with this tune.

17 Holy Roller Novocaine
18 Ragoo

The fact that this song is barely in the top 30 is mind-blowing. Easily one of their best songs and better than their mainstream hits that shouldn't be in the top 10.

19 Black Thumbnail

Underrated B-side, in my top 10 KOL songs.

20 Slow Night, So Long
21 Molly's Chambers

This list is a joke. Their older stuff was better. This is an absolute classic!

How is Molly's Chambers not number 1? It's also the first song I learned to play on the bass.

It's a disgrace that this song is so low.

22 Revelry

This song really hits me. It reminds me of my ex because he broke up with me basically because he wanted to go out and party. I see him every day, and I still catch him staring at me, so I know he regrets his decision in some way. This song is hauntingly beautiful.

There's something haunting about this song. It really makes me think of an old love that didn't work out and how difficult it is to find that.

Love this song because I believe it deals with guilt, love, reminiscing, and pain, but still it has the touch of a love song.

23 Trani

She don't get off unless somebody is standing near her... Oscillating on the ground, throwing white noise sound.

If you do not think this song deserves to be in Kol's Top 3 songs, then you clearly do not know Kol at all. Also, Bob Dylan likes this song. Bob Dylan.

Absolutely, Bonnaroo 2004 is my all-time favorite KOL performance, truly an outstanding performance. YouTube it, all you Sex on Fire fans!

24 Supersoaker

Best from the last album and probably their best song, deserves more votes!

Extremely catchy and on repeat already 100 times, never gets boring.

Best chorus out of all their songs, impossible not to sing along!

25 Soft

To be honest, they have too many great songs, but I love this song. It reminds me a little of what Vampire Weekend does. Nonetheless, I put this in a mix for my friend's Christmas present.
