Top Ten Nightwish Singles

Of course, Nightwish's singles don't nearly represent their entire greatness. They are an album band, and of course their single releases consist of shorter and conventionally structured songs. That's not to say that these aren't amazing pieces of music (they are) - but only that they don't cover all of the band's trademark sounds and qualities.

1 Sleeping Sun

In my humble opinion, their second best song after "Ghost Love Score", and their ultimate ballad. The legend says, there are people that don't get goosebumps when Tarja sings "Oh how I wish to go down with the sun / Sleeping, weeping with you", but honestly, I don't believe it.

To be honest, I am pretty surprised they release this wonderful song as a regular single, as I always regarded this as one of the group's most experimental moments, with a slight oriental touch.
